In copton, July 17, 1987, Kendrick Lamar
Duckworth was born and was destined to
become one of the greatest rappers, songwriters
and singers of his generation, Lamar won 81
awards from 186 nominations, including 12
Grammy Awards and ASCAPVanguard Award for
his work as a composer.
here is a little bit more of his musical career

as his first independent album, Section 80 was
released in 2011 talking about Such as the
1980s crack epidemic, drug tolerance, racism
and Ronald Reagan's presidency. Lamar said
he created the album to discuss his
generation.
His second album, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City was
released on October 22, 2012, having been
critically acclaimed and generated the singles
"Swimming Pools (Drank)", "Bitch, Don't Kill My
Vibe" and "Poetic Justice". Lamar also said that
the album will show the influence of his
hometown:. "The boy who is trying to escape
this influence has always been arrested due to
circumstances." The title of the album refers
mainly to the innocence of Lamar's childhood
in Compton.
The opening track of the album, "Wesley's Theory",
brings his first theory - the "cafetining" of successful
black artists by the entertainment industry. "When
the four corners of this cocoon collide / You'll slip
through the cracks hoping that you'll survive" -
describes the moment when an artist leaves the
ghetto. Kendrick speaks in the past, saying that when
he gets a contract he will "act without thinking" and
get "platinum in everything, platinum in a wedding
ring". It refers to a common mentality - that a
caterpollar can become a butterfly, thus reaping
benefits. But it's not just success that matters; but
doing things the right way, maturing and learning.
The butterfly is described in the last track, "Mortal
Man", as a representation of the talent, weighting
and beauty of the caterpilar. Meanwhile, the
caterprisar is described as a "prisoner of the streets
that conceived it". He is elusive and "has a hard view
of life", but realizes that butterflies are valued. By
seeing a butterfly as "weak, [he] discovers a way to
pimp them for his benefit."
untiled unmasted
In 2016, untiled unmasted is released, an album of
discarded songs the musician released an
album/EP/mixtape containing eight untitled tracks, only
numbered and accompanied by what is apparently the
date on which they were written. It is not correct to say that
it is a meeting of unfinished tracks, but they were clearly
released without the polishing and details necessary to
make them more consistent with the others of To Pimp A
Butterfly.

This album is a personal record in which Kendrick
explores his own gaps and virtues, making a parallel
with the society he inhabits. The names of the songs,
short and objective, written in capital letters and
with a period, seem to mirror a determined,
definitive message, without room for doubt. The
album alternates between more hopeful and more
darky moments, with elements of different songs
that contrast like two sides of the same coin

Disc 1 (Mr. Morale) can be interpreted as the 'toxic side'
of the album, where Kendrick makes his demons very
visible to anyone who wants to see before learning how
to deal with them. It also shows that The Big Steppers has
a sequence pattern: among the tracks he uses as an
emotional discharge, the most difficult to absorb, he puts
some more 'friendly' in his ears. If disc 1 was about letting
the demons speak as a way to identify them, now comes
the most difficult part: learning how to live with them.

In February 2018, the Song Album was
released for the film Black Panther (film),
where Kendrick was curator, helping in the
production and composition of the songs, in
addition to making a direct participation in the
Soundtrack. The Album reached the top of the
American charts and featured several
collaborations, such as SZA, Schoolboy Q, 2
Chainz, Travis Scott, Vince Staples, Future,
among others.
