Lesson Plan_ My Phonics Level 1 Lesson 3

Class 1st Class (1 hour)


Book Student Book Review 1
Title Alphabet Aa Bb Cc Dd
Objectives 1. The students know capital and small letters, and try to write/trace the
letters.
2. The students can say the letters from Aa-Dd and know the sounds of
them.
3. The students can understand and say the key words and the sight words.

Procedure In the Class Materials


Warm-up Review letters Aa-Dd by doing alphabet action while sing the alphabet
(5 mins) sounds and play a little game :I do you say and i say you do. exercise
T does the alphabet action Ss say the rhythm
S1 does the alphabet action rest of the Ss say the rhythm

Review 1 The capital letter and the small letter of Aa Bb Cc Dd


(10 mins) 1) Teacher reviews the hand writing of these four letters by
finger writing.
2) Game-----match the capital and small letter.
(play the game as a competition game, separate two groups)

3) Game----- Bomb game: write letters and 2 bombs on the


stick and put all the sticks in one cup, then Ss need to
draw the stick from the cup, if they got the bomb then they
need to say all the letters)
4) Ask Ss to take out the book and finish exercise 1
5) Check the answer with Ss

Review 2 The words with letter Aa and Bb


(10 mins) 1) Game---- flashing the word cards word cards
Teacher flashes the cards, the kids are reading out loudly
“A A A a a a A a apple”
2) Game-----whisper
T says one word quietly and Ss need to pass the word from
left to the right and the last S needs to say it loudly as “A A
A a a a A a apple” then this kid can decide the next word
and pass it.
3) Game-----fetching game (T says one and the Ss run to get
it)
Review 3 The words with letter Cc and Dd word cards
(10 mins) 1) Game---- flashing the word cards
Teacher flashes the cards, the kids are reading out loudly
“C C C k k k, C k clock”
2) Game-----whisper
T says one word quietly and Ss need to pass the word from
left to the right and the last S needs to say it loudly as “C C
C k k k, C k clock” then this kid can decide the next word
and pass it.
3) Game-----fetching game (T says one and the Ss run to get
it)
4) Game-----hot potato
5) Ask Ss to take out the book and finish exercise 2 and 3

Review 4 The sight words: The activity

Teacher flashes the cards, the kids are reading out loudly
2) Game-----slap the words
T sets the cards on the board and asks 2-4 kids to play.
Then T will mouth shaping the word and rest of the Ss need
to say the word loudly and those 2-4 Ss need to slap the
words quickly.
3) Game-----swap
T asks Ss sit in a circle and T reads the book, once they
heard one of the sight word need to stand up and swap
their seat.
4) Ask Ss to take out the book and finish exercise 4

Review 5 Read the books


(5 mins) T asks the kid to take out their students book, let the kids
read the book by themselves first, then someone to stand
up and read out loudly.

Review 6 Letter dictation: colored


(10 mins) T divided the class into 2-3 teams and hands out several paper and
colored paper. When T says the letter’s sound the Ss need to small gift
use the colored paper to make the letter they heard. Which
team is fast will get a small gift.
