Chuyên đề số 8: Making suggestion (nói câu đề nghị, gợi ý)

A/ PHẦN LÝ THUYẾT:

* Muốn đưa ra lời đề nghị hoặc gợi ý, ta có thể dùng:

1. a S + SUGGEST (chia) + V-ing....

b. S + SUGGEST (chia) + (that) + S + (should) + V-bare-infinitive.....
c. S + SUGGEST (chia) + Noun/ something…
Ví dụ 1: He suggested travelling together for safety, since the area was so
dangerous. (Anh ấy đề xuất nên đi du lịch cùng nhau cho an toàn vì khu vực đó rất
nguy hiểm.)
Ví dụ 2: Emily suggests that we go out for dinner after the movie.
(Emily gợi ý chúng tôi nên đi ăn tối ở ngoài sau khi xem bộ phim)
Ví dụ 3: I suggest a beer with that dish. (Tôi đề nghị dùng bia với món ăn đó.)

*NOTE: Trong trường hợp dung mệnh đề “that” động từ luôn ở dạng nguyên thể
Eg: The doctor suggests that he lose some weights (chủ ngữ he nhưng động từ lose
không chia)

2. Let's + V (infinitive) + … (Chúng ta hãy…)

Ví dụ: Let's go swimming at the weekend. (Cuối tuần chúng ta đi bơi nhé).

* NOTE: Let’s là cách viết ngắn gọn của Let us. mang nghĩa là “Hãy
cùng nhau/ Chúng ta hãy” khi cần đưa ra lời gợi ý.

3. What / How about + V-ing (gerund)/ N…? (Chúng ta hãy…)

Ví dụ: What about going by bus? (Chúng ta hãy đi bằng xe buýt nhé.)

Ví dụ: How about a game of badminton? (Chúng ta chơi một ván cầu lông đi?)
* NOTE: Theo sau What about và How about là danh động từ –
gerund hoặc chỉ cần đơn giản là danh từ – noun thì câu nói vẫn giữ
được ý nghĩa “Còn … thì thế nào” nhưng gọn gàng hơn. Khi sử
dụng How about thì sắc thái của lời gợi ý thường mạnh mẽ
hơn What about.

4. Why don't we + V (infinitive) + O…? (Tại sao chúng ta không…?)

Ví dụ: Why don't we go to the library? (Tại sao chúng ta không đến thư viện nhỉ?)

5. Shall we + V + O/ A..? (chúng ta sẽ/ hãy…?)

Ví dụ: Shall we eat out this evening? (Tối nay chúng ta sẽ ăn ở tiệm đi.)
Ví dụ: Shall we help that old man? (Chúng ta hãy giúp đã ông cụ kia nhé?)
6. I think we/ you should + V + O/A (Tôi nghĩ chúng ta nên .. .)
Ví dụ: I think you should go on a picnic (Tôi nghĩ rằng bạn nên đi dã ngoại)

*Để trả lời cho câu đề nghị, chúng ta dùng :

Đồng ý: Không đồng ý

 Ok. let’s.  No, let’s not.
 Yes, I’d like to.  Well, I’d rather…
 Yes, I’d love to.  I don’t feel like it.
 What/ that a good idea!  I dislike going for a walk.
 Why not?  What an awful/bad idea!
 Yes, with pleasure.  I’m not sure about that idea.
 Yes, I feel like taking a walk.  I’d love to but…
 Yes. That sounds like a good  I don’t think it will work.
