Chapter 1

Introduction

Due to the quick development of the of the technology, computer systems

are now necessary component of the daily life and require thorough
understanding of upkeep and troubleshooting. Computer System Servicing
(CSS) courses at senior high schools are designed to give students the
fundamental knowledge and abilities needed to manage and repair computer
systems.

But even with this field's significance, students frequently face major
obstacles that can hinder their ability to learn and perform well. The purpose
of this study is to give a quantitative evaluation of the typical challenges that
senior high school CSS students confront. The research attempts to provide
insights that can assist educators and policymakers in creating more effective
strategies to improve student learning outcomes and better prepare them for
professions in the technology sector by identifying and assessing these
obstacles.

In this modern world we prepare the new generation especially the students
capable of dealing with technology and modern times skills. Thus, there are
also challenges encountered by the students in dealing with such (Rianne
Acebo, et. al 2019)

students often face challenges due to a lack of preparation, which can hinder
their performance and adaptability in work settings (Brown & Green, 2021).

In this current study, the response of PA was based on the assumption that
students exhibits GTS because of a lack of skills (Rex Perez 2021 et. al)

It requires a system of thoughts and action to overcome any challenges that

others face ideal troubleshooting skills mean you begin with gathering
maximum information to define the actual problem and provide the best

Review related literature

This are the reviews of this research on the related studies and literature

In this modern world we prepare the new generation especially the

the

performance of the students taking the TVL strand was greatly affected by the

abrupt change in learning system, thus preventing them to fully grasp the
concepts

and to develop their skills.

Consistent lower academic performance at the Senior High School is

a threat to every country’s educational (Evan Austin Brews, Benjamin
Nketiah, Richard Koranteng 2021)

Chapter 3

Research Methodology

This study employs a quasi-experimental research design to investigate the

challenges encountered by students in their respective strands. The quasi-
experimental approach allows for an in-depth examination of the participants'
experiences without manipulating variables.

Data Collection

To gather comprehensive data, this study utilizes:

1. Surveys: Standardized questionnaires to collect quantitative data on

students' demographic information, academic performance, and perceived
challenges.

2. Interviews: Semi-structured, in-depth interviews with students, teachers,

and administrators to gather qualitative insights into the nature and severity of
challenges faced.

3. Focus Group Discussions: Moderated group sessions to explore common

themes, patterns, and experiences among students.

Data Analysis

Collected data will undergo:

1. Descriptive statistics: Frequency distributions, means, and standard

deviations to summarize demographic and academic performance data.

2. Content analysis: Thematic coding and categorization of interview and

focus group transcripts to identify emerging themes and patterns.

3. Inferential statistics: Regression analysis to examine relationships between

variables (e.g., academic performance and challenge severity).

Sampling Strategy

Participants will include:

1. Convenience sampling: Accessibility and willingness to participate.

2.Purposive sampling: Selecting students with diverse academic backgrounds

and performance levels.

Ethical Considerations

To ensure confidentiality and anonymity:

1. Informed consent forms will be distributed.

2. Data anonymization and coding.

3. Participants' rights and confidentiality respected.

Expected Outcomes

This study aims to:

1. Identify prevalent technical and common challenges faced by students.

2. Determine the frequency and severity of these challenges.

3. Explore relationships between academic performance and challenge

severity.

4. Inform educators and policymakers about targeted support strategies.

Limitations

Potential limitations include:

1. Self-reported data biases.

2. Sampling limitations (non-probability sampling).

3. Limited generalizability due to specific strand focus.

Future Directions

Findings will guide future research on:

1. Developing targeted interventions.

2. Investigating longitudinal effects.

Data analysis and interpreatation

This is the result of our intensive data collection efforts, which made
use of a thorough survey intended to elicit pertinent and meaningful data from
a wide variety of participants.

Data gathered of the challenges faced of

grade 11 CSS students

No good ventilation 54% of grade 11 CSS students

in the room

Lack of tools 10% of grade 11 CSS students

No internet 6% of grade 11 CSS students

computer system

Interpretation

Most of all grade 11 student uncomforted to their laboratory or classroom

because of no good ventilation in the area, so it is possible that the heat
cannot escape in the learning area, and it can heat exhaustion to the
students, and also it can damage any computer in the laboratory so the

students have experienced the difficulty on assembling a computer parts even

dis assembling it.

The other problem is the lack of tools because it can limit the outcome of work
because of the lack of tool and equipment. And the last is no internet because
the fourth quarter task of the grade 11 is the network cabling so they can test
the quality of cable they make.

Data gathered of the challenges faced of

grade 12 CSS students

Defective PC 25% of grade 12 CSS students

Server set-up 19% of grade 12 CSS students

Lack of tools 15% of grade 12 CSS students

Slow PC/Old PC 13% of grade 12 CSS students

Interpretation

The grade 12 CSS is facing a problem on every defective pc even though

some can recover and fix but the the other are not. And mostly the grade 12
facing the majors of their strand the challenges in fixing computers like server
set-ups wifi configuration and Internet configuration, even installing apps and
OS(Operating system). But like on the grade 11 also the grade 12 is
experiencing lack of tools in their laboratory that limits thts their work and its
outcome.

The rest of all challenges are very common in this they are not much
higher than any but still we must eliminate this like the broken line. This is a
serious hazard that can harm any technician in their work this answers are
answer of only one person on this grade level

Chapter 5

Conclusion

The findings of this research is the especially to CSS student must be

implemented on the campus for student’s sake. The major ones that is
leading on this must be eliminate by: first in the grade 11 their laboratory must
in good condition if there is no other way to get ventilated, air-conditioning is
the best way to condition the lab. The tools must be provided for the best
performance of the students.

The challenges faced by the students must be the first concern because it can
hinder the performance of the students and also make their learning
effectively to perform well not only in their major TVL – Technology Livelihood
Education but to other subjects also. This statistics can help us to know the
challenges of all and the primary concern of the students so we can help them
to support them in their specialization.

Recommendation

We must focus on the on the first and highly concerned challenges so we can
help them improve their performance.

The second things is the least among the concerned but very important
so we can reduce the difficulties on the workplace.

Make sure that all devices are up to date, because this is the very
crucial part of this specialization especially the technologies are keep on
improving.
