Materi: Asking for and Giving Opinions
Bayangkan kamu sedang berbicara dengan teman tentang film baru. Kamu mungkin bertanya, "Menurutmu,
bagaimana film itu?" (Asking for opinion). Lalu temanmu menjawab, "Menurutku, film itu sangat seru!"
(Giving opinion).
Intinya, saat kita bertanya pendapat, kita ingin tahu apa yang dipikirkan orang lain tentang sesuatu. Saat kita
memberikan pendapat, kita memberitahu apa yang kita pikirkan tentang sesuatu.
Frasa yang Sering Digunakan:
Bertanya Pendapat (Asking for Opinions):
o What do you think about...? (Bagaimana menurutmu tentang...?)
o What's your opinion on...? (Apa pendapatmu tentang...?)
o How do you feel about...? (Bagaimana perasaanmu tentang...?)
o Do you agree that...? (Apakah kamu setuju bahwa...?)
o What are your thoughts on...? (Apa pemikiranmu tentang...?)
Memberikan Pendapat (Giving Opinions):
o In my opinion,... (Menurut pendapatku,...)
o I think that... (Saya pikir bahwa...)
o I believe that... (Saya percaya bahwa...)
o I feel that... (Saya merasa bahwa...)
o From my point of view,... (Dari sudut pandangku,...)
Contoh Soal dan Jawaban:
Soal 1:
Algi : What do you think about the new English teacher? (Bagaimana menurutmu tentang guru bahasa
Inggris baru?)
Nizwa : ... she is very kind and helpful. (Dia sangat baik dan suka membantu.)
Jawaban: I think
Penjelasan: Nizwa memberikan pendapatnya tentang guru baru. Frasa "I think" adalah cara sederhana untuk
memulai pendapat.
Soal 2:
Teacher : ... the importance of learning English? (Apa pendapatmu tentang pentingnya belajar bahasa Inggris?)
Student : I believe that it is very important for our future. (Saya percaya bahwa itu sangat penting untuk
masa depan kita.)
Jawaban: What is your opinion on
Penjelasan: Guru bertanya pendapat siswa. Frasa "What is your opinion on" adalah cara untuk meminta
pendapat.

Rizqi : Not yet, Naura. What movie is it?
