Project : SSP (Salem Steel Plant) - Migration Application For Finance Module
Client: Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) – Salem Steel Plant (SSP)
Project Description:
Salem Steel Plant, a special steels unit of Steel Authority of India Ltd., pioneered the supply
of wider width stainless steel sheets / coils in India. The plant can produce austenitic, ferrites,
martensitic and low-nickel stainless steel in the form of coils and sheets with an installed capacity
of 70,000 tones / year in Cold Rolling Mill and 1,86,000 tones / year in Hot Rolling Mill. In
addition, the plant has country's first top-of-the-line stainless steel blanking facility with a
capacity of 3,600 tones / year of coin blanks and utility blanks / circles.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Took responsibility as the Lead for the Finance & Accounts Team.
Assisted in gathering requirements by performing system analysis of the requirements
with the technology teams.
Developed views to facilitate easy interface implementation and enforce security on critical
customer information.
Involved in resolving production problems for the applications and Ensure all support
Service level agreements are met. Involved in Production support as Monitoring Activity.

has been developed to link all the offices of OICL with a central database and to make
available the data round the clock to the Top Management and supervising authorities.
Project : Integrated Non-Life Insurance Application System – INLIAS
Client: The Oriental Insurance Company Limited, INDIA
This product optimizes underwriting, claims, reinsurance and financial accounting
processes through seamlessly integrated modules, which help in related aspects such as rating,
quoting, policy administration and general ledger accounting.
Roles:
Support Product– Resolving issues related to Product Configuration, Product
Accessibility and setup and External Validation issues and bug fixing through a specified
portal named SSP (Self service Portal) where the tickets have been raised from the user
end and being resolved at L1 Support.
Customization – Design and setup of Insurance Products in various business classes such
as Fire, Engineering, Motor, Aviation, Marine, Miscellaneous, Med claim etc.
Testing – Part of the Internal Testing team that was responsible for Quality Control. While
a part of this team, entrusted with the responsibility of coordinating with the client’s UAT
Team.
End User Training– Imparted Product training for team and End Users. The
Implementation of the Insurance application in each office in all the states have been
successfully done by implementation engineers, as a member of Implementation team and
have completed 11 successful sign offs from the officer in charge of the respective offices.
Roll out – During the Project implementation and Roll out, I was also entrusted with the
responsibility of creating Users, User Menus, Maintaining Access Rights, Defying Financial
Authorities, User Limits, etc. This was a vital activity that involved various setups and
constant interaction with the Client to obtain the required information.
On-site Implementation & Customer Support –Worked in Product Implementation and
deployment and provided on site product support to the
Client.
Reinsurance Module:
Responsibility to do the MASTER SETUP for the Outward and Inward Proportional, Non-
Proportional Treaty and FAC Placement and FAC XOL (Inward and Outward Proportional), Risk
Accumulation Process. Carrying out Internal Testing and involved in Support and Implementation
Activities.
Back End Support - Working as a part of the back-end support team responsible to fix bugs
reported from the client site in live environment.
Testing – Part of the Internal Testing team that was responsible for Quality Control.
Achievements:
Deputed at Salem Steel Plant for Requirement gathering and Preparation of BRD, FSD and SRS
at client location.
Assigned for ARAB ORIENT INSURANCE COMPANY, DUBAI, UAE for requirement gathering
and product enhancement.
Being an integral part of the world’s largest Insurance Project Implementation. This project
implementation covered 1500+ client offices across India.
Participated in the customization of many Insurance Products such as Engineering, Marine
Hull, Motor, etc.
