The 'great golden dream' in internet marketing is the million dollar launch.
We've all seen them and there's no doubt that they do happen, and with a
frequency that would pretty much freak out a Wall St banker.
They're the stuff of dreams....the stuff of legend.
But what's the reality?
I'm going to let you in on some insider secrets – and YES, I know people
personally who have the total low-down on million dollar launches.....
I'm also going to show you a system that believe it or not, by the end of this
lesson, you might prefer to use, even if I offered you a million dollar launch..

Lesson #35
Let's look at the 'average' million dollar launch, if there is such a thing in internet
marketing as an 'average launch'
The first thing to say is that there are maybe TWO of these a year – at least that I
see and I'm pretty clued up with what happens in IM.
They're from big players -mentioning only first names – Mike, Frank, John, etc but
you get the idea about the kind of 'guru' that does $1 million dollars.
The second thing is that these guys VERY rarely go home with a million dollars for
themselves.
If most of their sales come through affiliates, JV's and other commission based
deals they're already down to around $500,000
Not too shabby I agree.
But then you've got to take into account the costs of producing the product.
Sales page writers (the best charge $10,000 + for a sales letter), techies to create
sites and systems, graphic designers, we page specialists, JV brokers, freelance
staff, in house staff, shipping and handing, creating physical products (most million
dollar launches include DVD's and written material)....
Suddenly they're down to $400,000
Again – not too shabby.
Great in fact – book me in for one right now :-)
But most IM launches do NOT bring in a million dollars.
I'm guessing – based on what I see in the industry – that the average sized launch
from players that you might or might not have heard of – not newbies, brings in
around $300,000
Again this is cool.

But let's apply the same 50% rule.
If most of sales come through affiliates and the commission is 50% (and that's me
being generous - often it's 75%) JV brokers, 100% deals to gurus then suddenly
our marketer is down to $150,000
Take off production costs, outsourcing and all the other stuff I mentioned earlier.
And our marketer brings in maybe (and I'm being generous here again) $100,000
in a week from a launch.
He maybe does 2 launches a year.
That's $200,000 a year profit.
...or $16,666 a month.
I earn more money than that.
And I've never done a launch that's brought me – net profit – more than $30,000.
And here's how you can pull in those kind of figures too – the same figures over a
year as a MAJOR mid level marketer launch or two makes.
And it's thanks to an automated system that I'm going to show you now.
This is perhaps one of the biggest factors that has allowed me to go full time online
and work a few hours a day.
Because this little system does quite a lot of the work for me.
Here's how to do it.

Most marketers, when they've been around for a while, have multiple web pages.
Various ebooks that have been created, free reports, hub sites, affiliates pages etc.
And usually they all get at least some traffic.
But because there are so many pages and sites it's impossible to work towards
optimizing them.
So many of them have broken links, out of date copyright statements or dates, old
graphics and everything else that just catches up with you when you don't have
time to work on a dozen (or usually much more) sites.
I spent some time looking at the sites that didn't earn anything for me anymore –
such as a free advertising site that I built some years ago, and a free report that is
so far out of date (it's about selling on ebay before the latest set of changes came
in) that it just doesn't sell.
But I found these sites were still getting traffic.
Nothing major but certainly hundreds of people a month.
Traffic that I could monetize very easily with just a simple redirection into my
'system'
So the idea is to have ALL my NEW traffic hitting just ONE squeeze page.
As an existing subscriber you may or may not have seen the following page – it's
aimed at new prospects not existing subscribers, and although I did give a free
copy of the book to existing subscribers they probably didn't go through the same
process....

It's a free report (the idea actually came from a Kickstart Course lesson).
Why a free report?
Well, selling is getting harder online, and most savvy marketers are working on
their marketing techniques rather than their sales techniques.
The difference?
I think marketing is about building a relationship then offering solutions that will
actually and realistically benefit your subscribers, rather than pushing hard the
next big launch by some guru they're never likely to receive a reply from if they
email.

People love buying but hate being sold to.
And the new breed of marketer is starting to accommodate that.
They build trust, mutual respect and help their subscribers to succeed as their
main priority.
Then they offer solutions – in the form of products – that the subscriber can either
buy or pass up, without affecting the relationship either way.
It's why the day of the long sales letter is fading fast.
The whole point of long sales letters is that they're based on removing the reader's
reasons for NOT buying the product. The long sales letter covers – or tries to cover
– ALL possible rejection scenarios from the prospect, thereby resulting in a sale.
The technique of long sales letters were devised by traditional offline salesmen.
But with life being the rush it now is, fewer people are reading the full sales letter,
and who can blame them? sometimes they're tens of thousands of words long.
But this means of course that not all the objections are squashed so more often
than not the prospect doesn't buy.
Contrast that with the new approach – where a marketer helps his subscribers to
succeed by providing help and free information.
Then he offers a paid product that he genuinely feels can help his list.
No long sales letter – just a 'have a look at this – if you think it can help you, grab
a copy for $27'
And this approach is working for a lot of new style marketers.
Myself included.
Which is why the main page for my new system – the squeeze page – is free info.
It's the page where most of my new traffic is sent.

Actually not all traffic – because I still have ebooks that sell well and I don't want
to lose that revenue – these are my 'kickstart course method sites' – the ones we
showed you how to build at the start of the course.
There's also a major reason to integrate your KS sites with the system – because
your KS course sites will probably have traffic that's being sent by affiliates.
Here's an example of a site that gets a lot of traffic from affiliates:
Now if this had been one of the 'old' sites I referred to earlier that weren't
generating much income but were getting traffic, it would be easy to put a redirect
on the page so it sent people to the squeeze page instead.

But if I do this on the page above, affiliates will stop sending traffic to it, because
their sales will dry up.
Instead there's a way to get both the traffic from the affiliates, the sales (affiliates
get their percentage too) AND drive new customers through my squeeze page
system.
And that way is to put a pop up on the page like this:
The pop up can easily be closed, and there's a link to click to view the squeeze
page as well as enter an email address.
This is proving to work very well.

Actually the conversion rate improved dramatically when I removed the 'first name' box on the pop up and just asked for the
email address.
So this pop up is on around a dozen sites that are currently making sales and
getting traffic, while new prospects that come in from other traffic methods (paid
advertising, viral marketing campaigns etc) are all sent to the main squeeze page.
The main squeeze page is really a sales page with an opt-in box.
I'm currently testing a much shorter squeeze page – just a few lines – key points
then an opt in box and it seems to be doing just as well if not better as the long
sales letter type squeeze page so I might change it over once all results are in.
But the point is that the squeeze pages is of a quality that I'd use when selling a
product.
Good graphics, good copy, own domain name etc.
And it's currently converting at around 70%
So for every 100 people that land on the page, 70 get the free report and kindly
give me their email address.
Immediately after that they're taken to an offer page.
They're taken here BEFORE they confirm their email address to get the free report
or anything else.
This is so even the people who don't go on to confirm their email address are still
presented with the offer page.

This is an offer for The KickStart Course.
It's currently converting at 4% which to be honest isn't that good.
So we're currently testing other pages too.
But because it's for the KS course it means it's about recurring income, not just
one-off sales.
If I didn't have a recurring income product I'd be searching Clickbank for a decent
recurring income product and promoting that on my offer page as an affiliate.
With recurring income you just have to make the sale ONCE.
It's so much easier than trying to generate sales every month.

Even better if you can create your own recurring income site.
Here are some quick figures – based upon what we know about drop out rates on
the course (which are very low)
At the current conversion rates above we get 40 new sign ups for every 1000
people that visit the site (not counting upsells and future purchases which hugely
increase the value of each visitor)
If on average those visitors stay for 6 months in the course. It means that each
one is worth $162 to us, again NOT counting upsells and other sales we make to
them.
So out of 1000 visitors, and based ONLY on the KickStartCourse upsell page we
make $6480
If we get 1000 visitors a week that's $25,920 a month.
Again not counting the system upsell (coming up in a second) or ANY future
products each one of these new subscribers buys.
You starting to see the power of this system?
And if I increase the conversion rate to 6% (which I'm sure I can do) by changing
the Kickstart offer page above this increases to $38,880 a month.
Increasing the traffic would do the same thing. Increase BOTH the traffic and
conversion rate and things start to get serious.
Of course drop out rates, subscription rates, affiliate payments and everything have to be taken into account, BUT so do
sales from other areas of the business, affiliate promotions and other recurring income sites, so all in all it's still looking
remarkably healthy.
Once the affiliate program we're working on has been finalized, we'll be able to
offer affiliates a great deal to send traffic to the squeeze page too.
And it gets better.
We've put an upsell page in there too.

After they've opted in and seen the KS offer page they receive an email asking
them to confirm their email address by clicking on a link in the email that Aweber
sends them.
Once clicked they're taken immediately to this page – the upsell:
You've probably seen this page before because it converts reasonably well,
although it's recently replaced the original upsell which was dreadful and it's too
soon to know quite how well it's converting yet.
But again by presenting it we're making profits that we simply wouldn't make if the
offer wasn't there.
This system is so powerful of course because we can concentrate fully on
increasing the conversion rates and increasing the traffic.
Because even a slight increase in either of these will result in more revenue.

By using this system as the main arrival page for all new prospects we're
effectively focusing all our attention onto this one page, rather than splitting it
across hundreds – literally – of different sites and getting weaker results on all
simply because there isn't the time to spend on conversion rates or traffic driving.
Quickstart Guide to the system.
Create or acquire a good free report.
Build a squeeze page offering it in return for an opt-in. Our testing suggests that
asking only for an email address and not a first name will increase conversion
rates.
Put in place a recurring income offer as the next page they are taken to –
immediately after clicking 'submit' (or whatever text) on the opt-in form.
If you don't have or don't want to create your own recurring income program then
find a good one with a good commission rate and a high retention rate (email the
owner and ask) and use that as your offer.
After they've confirmed their email address take them to an upsell page where you
should place a related offer.
This is to add value to each prospect that passes through your system. You're
leaving money on the table if you don't have an offer here.
And finally divert all your traffic to it, excluding any sites that are making you
money – you can use pop ups as described above to do this.
Finally, prepare a set of autoresponder messages – you can use existing ones or
new ones – and stack them up so they're automatically sent to everyone who's
opted in to receive you free report.
It feels a bit odd at first putting all your efforts into running and then (importantly)
optimizing just one system. But a system like this makes an excellent sales funnel
and put simply, it works....

Using a system like this is great for marketers who find it hard to focus on one
project.
Many many marketers struggle because they flit from one thing to the next both
within their own business and when it comes to trying new methods and systems
from other people.
If you can focus on one thing, your chances are success are much higher.
You'd also be surprised how easy it gets to generate traffic to just one site when all
your viral marketing, blogging, article marketing techniques and everything else
comes into play.
Best of all though – this system is like a machine – and once it's tuned all you need
to do is to pour traffic in the top, and it'll generate profits for you (ongoing from
the recurring products you offer) automatically.
Get started on your system now......
This Week’s Assignment
1) Start by sourcing, creating or freelancing your free report
2) Build a high quality squeeze page – approach it as you would approach a
paid product, make it look GOOD, but ask for an opt-in rather than a
payment
3) Ideally, create your own recurring income site. Put this as your next-in-line
immediate offer. Use an affiliate product if you really don't want to create
your own.
4) Put an upsell page into place that your prospect is presented with after
they've clicked the confirmation email.

5) Stack up autoresponder messages so that your new subscribers receive
content and sales message automatically. Stack up at least 20, hopefully
more.
6) Drive all your traffic to this new squeeze page, excepting anything that's
bringing you a profit already.
7) Once you're driving traffic use Google adsense or Statcounter to track your
stats. Start tweaking and testing your sales pages.
8) Just go and DO IT (the hard part)
