Group: 3º AIDI- Task reading report 9

Novel title: Being a Happy Teen

Chapter number: 9º “ Laws of Life”
This chapter introduced me to new words and expressions
1-This chapter allowed me to such as precious (very valuable), hazy (unclear or
discover/learn new linguistic confused), and fascinated (extremely interested). I also
aspects learned unlucky breaks, which is a phrase used to describe
unfortunate events that seem to happen by chance.
(i.e.: idioms, phrasal verbs, Idioms:
unknown structures, spelling,  Something can be staring you in the face – Something
pronunciation) Mention them. very obvious that you don’t notice.
 Take something personally – To feel offended or hurt by
something that isn’t necessarily meant to upset you.
 Bash your head against the wall – To keep trying
something without success, often in frustration.
Phrasal Verbs:
 Sneak onto (the roof) – To go somewhere secretly or
quietly.
 Step off – To leave a surface or position by moving
down from it.
 Work with (something) – To cooperate or function
together with a system, idea, or process.
This chapter helped me understand how common
expressions and idioms can teach life lessons. It also
showed the importance of effort and patience. I found the
phrase Effort + patience = results very memorable.
Understanding how these idioms are used in context made
them easier to remember and apply. It also improved my
listening and reading skills.

2- This chapter allowed me to

discover/ explore I learned that sometimes, things are right in front of us, but
interesting information. we don’t notice them until we are ready to understand
them. The story about the boy not noticing pregnant women
until he learned where babies come from was funny but
meaningful.
The chapter also introduced me to the Law of the Seed,
which teaches that most efforts don’t give instant results.
Just like most seeds never grow, we often have to try many
times before something succeeds. This changed how I think
about failure and success.
The Law of Cause and Effect showed me that life gives back
what we put into it. If we work hard and stay consistent, we
are more likely to succeed. It reminded me that nothing
happens by luck alone — success takes effort, even if we
don’t always see it right away.
These ideas made me think more deeply about personal
responsibility and how much power we have to shape our
own lives.
