Weak-2 bids are preemptive bids aimed at limiting opponents' bidding space, requiring 5-11 high card points (HCP) and a minimum of 6 cards with 2 honors in the top 4. Restrictions include not being allowed in the 4th seat and specific responses based on HCP, with various strategies for responding and defending against these bids. Key responses include passing with up to 10 HCP, supporting raises, and using double for 14+ HCP hands.
