Leda myth
According to Greek mythology, Leda, the beautiful daughter of the king of Aetolia and wife of
Tyndareus, king of Sparta, was one of the mortal women
seduced by Zeus, god of Ulympus.
When she was walking along the river Eurotas, Zeus turned into a
magnificent swan and joined Leda, conceiving the
eggs from which the twins were born:

REGALEIRA FOUNTAIN
The fountain already existed in the time of the Viscountess of Regaleira and was then known
for sprouting the
best table water in Sintra. The excellence of water may have been at the origin of the
interventions that, under Luigi Manini's project, resulted in the
expansion of the facade and front enclosure, adding
scale, dignity and functional versatility, when defining a
space of scenic surroundings and
great symbolic load.
