ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

Usha Mittal Institute of Technology (UMIT) was established during

the academic year 1997. UMIT runs 6 undergraduate programs, 2
post graduate programs and 3 post-graduate research centers.

Quality assurance is the prime focus of the

institute. We have initiated the process of
accreditation for the Electronics &
Telecommunication Engineering and
Information Technology Departments. All
other departments shall also be
accredited after the compliance of
requirements for the accreditation laid
down by the National Board of
Accreditation, New Delhi.

Usha Mittal Institute of Technology is the

college of the Shreemati Nathibai
Damodar Thakersey Women’s University,
popularly known as the SNDT University.
The University is accredited by the
National Assessment and Accreditation
Council, Bangalore.

NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY 2020

Usha Mittal Institute of Technology has implemented the

recommendations of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP).

National Education Policy promotes interdisciplinary

learning and a holistic understanding of knowledge
through subject relationships.

Introducing subject teachers to learning and discussing

the more abstract concepts in each subject prepares
students to acquire knowledge.

Students develop a comprehensive perspective and

enhance their critical thinking skills by connecting

FOR MAHARASTRA STATE CANDIDATE

The candidate should be an Indian National and

should have cleared the HSC (Std. XII) Examination of
Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher
Secondary Education or its equivalent examination
with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics and
Chemistry/Biotechnology /Biology/ Technical
Vocational subject.

Secured minimum 45 % marks (minimum 40 % marks, in

case of Backward class categories and Persons with
Disability – candidates belonging to Maharashtra State
only) in the subjects Physics, Mathematics, and
Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical
Vocational subjects added together.
