Operation Steps
1. Confirming protocal compatibility
Before beginning any operation, it is crucial to confirm with the technical support personnel from ShuoRi
New Energy or the energy storage battery manufacturer you have selected to ensure that the communication
protocol used in the lithium battery you have chosen is compatible with the communication protocol used in
the SRNE inverter.
If the protocol is not compatible, communication will not be possible, and it will require professional
technical support to perform communication matching before it can be used.
2. Powering up the inverter
Turn on the bottom switch of the inverter and connect it to the power source. Then, the screen of the
inverter will be "lit up" from a black screen state.
3. Setup parameters on screen Key step
Before conducting BMS communication, it is necessary to set the parameters related to BMS communication
through the button located below the inverter screen. The left image displays the setting options and display
interface for the HF and HFP series, while the right image displays the display interface for the ASF and HES
series.

There are four parameters related to BMS communication, including item 08 (battery type), item 30
(communication address), item 32 (communication protocol type), and item 33 (communication protocol
brand).
Please follow the prompts in the table below to set the parameters. Some models may have preset the
parameter items before leaving the factory, but to ensure successful communication, it is recommended that
you check the content of the setting items again.
3.1 Please select one option from L14/L15/L16 based on the battery type you are using to complete the
battery type setting.
ID Meaning Item Instruction
L14 stands for 14 strings LFP battery,Rated voltage
L14 is 44.8V
L15 stands for 15 strings LFP battery,Rated voltage
08 Battery type L15 is 48V
L16 stands for 16 strings LFP battery,Rated voltage
L16 is 51.2V
3.2 Please set the communication address for the inverter.
ID Meaning Item Instruction
Communicate It needs to be consistent with the battery address,
30 address 1 and in most cases, it can be set to 1.

4. Confirm terminal location
12345678
SRNE inverter has multiple RS485 communication interfaces, among
which the RS485-2 interface with RJ45 specifications is used for
BMS communication. Note: Some models have only one RS485
interface, which can be used as a BMS communication interface.
Please refer to the labeling on the energy storage battery to locate
the RS485 interface used for BMS communication on the energy RS485-2
storage battery. terminal

Operation Steps
5. Preparing cable Key step
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Please use an RJ45 specification communication cable. The table below
shows the pin definitions for the ShuoRi inverter. When using RS485
communication, only pin 7 and pin 8 are required.
Pin 1 and Pin 2 may interfere with communication under certain
circumstances. Therefore, please follow the illustration in the image on the
right, cut the communication wires connected to other pins, and keep only
pin 7 and pin 8.
Pin order Pin definition RJ45 cable

pin2 /
pin3 /
pin4 CANH
pin5 CANL
pin6 /
pin7 RS485-A
pin8 RS485-B
Please confirm the pin definitions of the energy storage battery you are using. Connect the RS485-A pin of
the energy storage battery to the RS485-A pin of the inverter, and connect the RS485-B pin of the energy
storage battery to the RS485-B pin of the inverter to achieve successful communication.
6. Connecting cable
You can use the pre-processed communication cable to connect the energy storage battery and inverter.

7. Automatic communicate
After completing the above steps in sequence, once the communication cable is connected, the inverter and the
energy storage battery will automatically communicate with each other.

Note that when the inverter has successfully communicated, certain setting items, such as charging voltage,
charging current and other parameters, cannot be changed manually and can only be controlled by the BMS
communication, if these parameters need to be changed manually, then the BMS communication needs to be
switched off.
