A LAZY MAN
Once there lived a man in Nakitokolo village who did not want to work. This
man was nicknamed “Lugojanye”. Every morning he walked around the
village greeting people who worked in their gardens. Every day, he would tell
people not to work very hard because they would grow old quickly.

During the harvesting season, he would ask people for food. At first
everybody gave him food. He sold some and used the money for drinking
beer. People were not happy with this lazy man. One day they met and
agreed not to give him any more food because he did not want to work. They
planned to tell him to go to work with his family.

One morning, he went begging for food and nobody gave him. In the evening
he was very hungry and sad. He went and told his wife that the following
day he shall ask his friend to give him a piece of land to grow food. His
friend gave him a piece of land with three hoes, a panga and a basket of
maize for planting.
