Committee: AIPPM
Agenda: Reflecting on Lok Sabha Elections 2024
Delegation: Manish Sisodia
Name: Jheel Gandhi
I, Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi belonging to the Aam Admi Party oppose
the party that came to rule for 2024. I stand for the principles of honesty, integrity and
transparency in governance. My party and I believe in empowering the common people and
making their lives better.
In my opinion, the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections were a clear indication that the people of India
have lost faith in the current governance as shown by the clear majority. Despite a massive
and well-orchestrated propaganda campaign, people have rejected the idea of unfair
politics. They have voted for a change and have given a huge mandate to the opposition
parties.
Due to the Delhi Liquor Scam that has been falsely framed on me and my associate, Arvind
Kejriwal, we had not been able to operate out of jail personally. However, Mrs. Sunita
Kejriwal had handled the campaigning for the 2024 elections efficiently. She has been
attending roadshows in Gujarat, Delhi, Goa and Punjab on behalf of the party under the
party's campaign 'Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se'.
AAP contested four of the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi and its candidates have filed their
nomination papers. My party also contested in Kurukshetra seat in Haryana and Bharuch
and Bhavnagar in Gujarat. Despite an alliance with Congress in Delhi, Haryana and Gujarat,
the AAP independently contested and all the Lok Sabha seats in Punjab and secured
majority.
The ‘one nation, on election’ political strategy by the BJP has implemented makes sure that
there is 77% more chance that the top party is more likely to win. Moreover, with
simultaneous elections, national issues might overshadow the local issues and eventually
the national parties will benefit whereas the smaller, regional parties might struggle
together wise heard. To further add, politians and parties will be more responsible if the
moral of conduct tenure differs.
