MY EXPECTATIONS

My first episode will be my first visit to my cooperating school. This will also highlight
the expectations of my Cooperating school, STO. TOMAS NATIONAL HIGH
SCHOOL, and my Teacher Education institution, DAVAO DEL NORTE STATE
COLLEGE. This will allow me to familiarize myself with the facilities of the school
and carry out the procedure, policies, and guidelines of cooperating school and the
teachers.

My Directions

To get to know my cooperating school better, I must do the following tasks:

✓ Visit the cooperating school


✓ Tour the school facilities and resources
✓ Discuss the tasks and expectations from my cooperating teacher, and
cooperating school
✓ Be oriented with the policies of the school

My Tasks

Here, I am going to present my cooperating School with, but not limited to, the
following information.

✓ History
✓ Vision, Mission, Goals
✓ Maps and picture of the School
Use the extra pages from the school maps and pictures of the school facilities. Make
sure the to label each picture.

Based on the orientation activity conducted by my Teacher Education


Institution and my cooperating school, I shall complete the responsibility matrix given
below. I will only choose two (2) expectation from the Teacher Education Institutions/
Cooperating Schools expectations. I will also write my responsibilities and how to
meet the expectations.

Teacher Education Institution: DAVAO DEL NORTE STATE COLLEGE

Expectations Responsibilities
1. Respecting others Respecting the other PSTs, teachers,
students and other stakeholders of the
school.

2. Follow the DepEd rules. Taking responsibility to follow the rules of


the Department of Education in order to
become a role model to the students, I
must follow the working hours which is 8
hours a day and the time in schedule
which is 7:30 AM. Avoid being late and
practice work ethics.

Expectations Responsibilities
1. Respecting everyone in the In order for you to gain respect you need
cooperating school to respect another people also, it is
important that we should respect the
school heads, other teachers, the
cooperating teachers and even the
students.
2. Assist my Ct and prepare lesson As a practice teacher I should be
plan responsible to help my Ct in some paper
works and also, I will prepare my own
lesson plan for the discussion.
How did I feel when I saw my practicum site?

I feel honored and at the same time challenged, because my practicum site
is a big school. I am happy for I know I will be trained well here; I am not that
extroverted person that’s why I am challenged on facing a lot of students and people
in the site. But I am thankful for I believe that these things that I am experiencing
right now would be a great help in my growth to become better a better version of
myself for the near future.

What are my apprehensions?


My apprehensions were how can I properly handle such a big number of
students? Can I really make a lesson plan daily? That’s some of the idea that comes
in my mind, but those ideas remain just my apprehension because later on I slowly
know how to handled my class and I do make my lesson plan daily by the help of my
cooperating teacher and the school environment itself help me to be confident
enough to go through our daily task. Despite of all the self-doubt I can feel a slow
improvement in me that I know it will help me as a future educator.

MY PRACTICE TEACHING KIT


After our orientation session with the administrator(s), cooperating principal,
college supervisor, cooperating teachers, and my co-preservice teachers, I need to
equip myself with the PT KIT (Practice Teaching Kit) to better prepare myself for this
wonderful world of teaching. What tools do I need to bring in my teaching internship
in terms of Knowledge, Attitude, Skills, and Habits (KASH)?
As intern students I need to be
knowledgeable enough about the topics to be
tackled so that the information I am going to
convey is accurate and giving wrong ideas could
be avoided. Us a teacher it is important to be
KNOWLEDGE knowledgeable on your topic you need to
understand so that you can deliver the topic well
and your students learn of it. Students must gain
the knowledge before the class ends so they
learn and you learn also.

I should have unending patience and


ATTITUDE wide understanding for the learners so that I can
determine the things I need to do. Thus, these
attitudes are great components in the sense that
as teacher, it’s really your task to handle and
teach students with diversified character traits.
Students now a days are literally need have a
big patience us a teacher. Students have a
different attitudes it is because they have come
from different culture and family so you us a
teacher you need to consider also of their
differences us a students.

I should possess the essential skills in


making sure that my learners varied learning
styles and intelligences could be addressed
SKILLS through varying the methods and techniques
that will be utilized.

I need to make each activity be enjoyable


and meaningful. For me to do so, I need first to
be free from mannerisms so that the students
HABITS attention will not be disturbed which can lessen
their interest towards my discussion.

MY NARRATIVE EXPECTATIONS
My first day in San Vicente National High school
are literally challenging for me. But I think it is normal
that I felt those mixed emotions in my fist day. This picture
show that I am going to make a spelling bee for my
students because it’s Friday and catch up Friday in the
school. Every Friday I am going only to make a spelling
bee for them and the class discussion will resume in
Monday. In my experience so that my entire lesson plan
will be tackled every Thursday I include the lesson for
Friday so that in Monday I will be goes on the next topic.
And my expectations is all about the ideal classrooms but
when I am in the field

I realized that it is only ideal. Lots of things change when


I am in high school our classroom was full of design that can catch up our eyes.
Lots of instructional materials like the parts of the body pictures, the heroes and
especially the addition

in math. Their bulletin board is full of announcement or rules and regulation etc. But
now when you enter the classroom the bulle tin board end etc. is no longer
they literally change.

This picture show also that they copy the lesson and after that I make an
activity about scramble words and the words that I scramble are only on the topic that
they copied. This class is my BPP students in grade 9. I teach 2 sections in grade 8
and our topic there is all about Automotive and in grade 9 BPP also in grade 10 BPP.
For me in my first day in teaching those subject is very challenging

why it is because in my Grade 9, and 10 also in my senior high I am a ICT students.


In my 1st year and 2nd year college is online so I literally challenge those topics and
yes I have some experience also in cooking or baking but honestly sometimes it make
me challenge those performance. But trying my best to survive every night I study first
those topic so in morning I can elaborate those topic well.
These pictures illustrate that I am almost near in my dreams in life. In
teaching, honestly I am not really good but trying my best to share my thoughts and
learning’s in my students and even I am not familiar every night I study so that I
can share well to my students. It is very challenging being teacher now I realized
that being a teacher not always focusing on teaching but lots of paper works that
they need to finish. Being a teacher is a very big responsibility lots of thing you
need to follow, to know and especially to learn. This kind of experience gives me
big impact in my journey us a future teacher. I expect also that it is very easy but I
have lots of realization that I already experience how hard and I understand my
teacher in my school days in high school.

MY REFLECTIONS

MY SCHOOL SITE IS MY ALMA MATTER

In my first day in my school that I assign to teach is very mixed emotions. I


am happy that I am back my old school not a students but us a Pre service teacher
and I hope someday that I am back this school again but not be longer PST but a
teacher. Much realization in my 2 weeks in internship but lots of learning also I gain. I
understand how hard teaching different students and also I learn how to catch up
their attention and I proudly say that when I am entering their classroom those
students love talking their seatmate literally quiet. Why? It is because they know if
they speak and not part of the class I will call their attention and I give them time to
share what thoughts they are want to convey our lesson or what topic I discuss and
that are their fears. But we cannot deny that we have a student’s love to answer
always call you maam but I understand him or her. In my experience in teaching
when I am start teaching them I can literally say that all my stress will be erase I
don’t know why but teaching them make me happy also when they are very
participative in my class. If I am discussing I always ask their opinion first. Us a
teacher you need to find a way that they can listen your discussion and not to sleep
or talk their seatmate. My strategies are calling their attention and include them when
I am discussing the lesson. You us a teacher don’t talk a lot it is the reason why
students didn’t listen anymore every step of our lesson until end I always asking
them and that was the reason why my students literally listen.

I share also that how grateful my past teacher in San Vicente National High
School when they see me. Lots of experience and now one more step I will be like
them also. And sometimes i also think and realized I literally far and near to my
dreams. But also have fear what will be happen if I finish it but us always my parents
said that always put my head that I can if others can do why nit me right. And I know
I have lots of challenges will come but fight for the dreams and we can do it by step.
Not easy but we can do it not now but soon always believe ourselves and also don’t
forget god in our dreams also.
