1.2 Standards

The lifting capacities are calculated on the basis of the following standards:
– EN 474-12
– EN 16228-4
– EN 16228-5
Standards EN 16228-4 and EN 16228-5 are only met if the machine is approved
for the relevant operating mode.

1.3 Radius

The radius is the measured radius between the swing ring center and the hook

center or the center of the pulley block. Different reevings result in different
radii with the same boom angle.

1.4 Lifting capacity

The lifting capacities are only valid on a firm and load-bearing surface.
Lifting capacity values highlighted in gray are limited by the structure of the
machine. Lifting capacity values highlighted in white are limited by the tipping
of the machine.
The lifting capacity is made up of the weights of the following components:
– Hanging rope
– Empty hook
– Lifting device
– Load

Driving with load according to EN 474-12

1.5 Area of load exposed to the wind

The load area exposed to wind considered in the load calculation including the
cw value is 1.2 m²/t (0.84 inch²/lbs). If the load area exposed to wind including
the cw value is larger than 1.2 m²/t (0.84 inch²/lbs): Reduce the load chart
value. Request reduced load chart values stating the area and the cw value
from the Liebherr customer service.

1.6 Exposure to wind

All stated wind speeds are 3 second wind gust speeds measured at maximum
boom height.
Observe the restrictions related to exposure to wind in the operation manual.

1.7 Reducing the load

Maximum load is reduced depending on the selected maximum wind speed. The
machine operator is responsible for reducing the load and adapting the work
mode.

1.8 Additional weights

Additional weights on the main boom (e.g. walkways, rope guides, jib backstay
straps) increase the load moment and change the load display.
When using steel rope pulleys, calculate the weight difference to plastic rope
pulleys as additional weight.

1.9 Driving with load according to EN 474-12

copyright © Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH 2023

No lifting capacity reduction pursuant to ISO 4305 Tab. 1 is required when

driving with load according to EN 474-12.
The maximum speed allowed is determined by the maximum speed level that
can be selected. The maximum speed allowed applies only on a firm and load-
bearing surface. Reduce dynamic effects. Swinging and active load movement is
not permitted.

1.10 Driving with load with slurry wall hydromill

gripper and slurry wall hydromill cutter
according to EN 16228-5

The maximum speed allowed applies for positioning is 0.1 m/s (0.2 mph) on a
firm and load-bearing surface. Reduce dynamic effects. Swinging and active
load movement is not permitted.

1.11 Single hook operation/two-hook operation

Note the restrictions and instructions in the operation manual regarding single
hook/two-hook operation.

1.12 Slope table

The use on an sloped surface is a special operating mode. Higher dynamic loads
and higher cycle numbers reduce the service life of the machine.
The lifting capacities are a maximum of 75% of the tipping load.

slope α and cross slope β are the same size. The practically maximum static
slope of the machine is determined based on the valid load chart.
Turning the top carriage on a sloping ground changes the outreach without
boom adjustment. The maximum possible outreach is definitive for planning and
operation of the lifting capacity.
Only use boom lengths and ballasting as per the load chart.
The lifting capacity calculation accounts for the standstill of the surface only.
The lifting capacity calculation does not account for relative movements
between the load and the location where the load is applied or removed. The
lifting capacities are neither sea-state or offshore lifting capacities.

Main boom
Slope table

The lifting capacities apply exclusively to machines that are secured against
sliding on a sloped surface. The sloped surface must be able to transfer the
locally occurring soil pressures. Observe national regulations.
Observe any restrictions and instructions for operation on floating structures in
the operating manual.
