46th World Heritage • Archaeological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture, successfully
Committee Session hosted the 46th Session of the World Heritage Committee in
Delhi.
• Project PARI (Public Art of India)
• Project PARI (Public Art of India), an initiative by the Ministry of
Culture, Government of India, being executed by Lalit Kala
Akademi and National Gallery of Modern Art.
• It seeks to bring forth public art that draws inspiration from
millennia of artistic heritage (lok kala/lok sanskriti) while
incorporating modern themes.
Moidams Inscribed in UNESCO • “Moidams—the Mound-Burial System of the Ahom Dynasty”
was inscribed on the World Heritage List in July 2024.
• It represents the necropolis of the Ahom royal family.
• India now has 43 World Heritage properties and 56 on the
Tentative List.
Cultural Property Agreement • India and USA signed a "Cultural Property Agreement" on 26th
with USA July 2024 to prevent illegal trafficking of antiquities and ensure
repatriation of cultural property.
Repatriation of Antiquities • 358 antiquities have been repatriated to India.
• 297 antiquities were handed over by US President Joe Biden in
September 2024.
Yuga Yugeen Bharat National • The world’s largest museum is being developed in collaboration
Museum with France Museums Development at the North and South Block
Secretariat Buildings in New Delhi, covering 1,55,000 sq m.
MoU with University College • An MoU was signed on 2nd August 2024 between the
London Anthropological Survey of India (AnSI) and UCL Institute of
Archaeology for enhanced bio-archaeological research, including
human skeletal remains and stable isotope analysis.
Recognition of Classical • Assamese, Marathi, Pali, Prakrit, and Bengali were conferred the
Languages status of classical languages on 3rd October 2024, expanding
India's classical languages list to 11.
Lord Buddha Relics Exposition • The Holy Relics of Lord Buddha and his disciples were taken to
in Thailand Thailand for a 26-day historic exposition.
• Over 4 million devotees paid obeisance to the Sacred Relics in
Thailand.
First Asian Buddhist Summit • Organized in New Delhi in November 2024, with 32 countries and
160+ participants, discussing the role of Buddhist principles in
sustainable development, social harmony, and international
cooperation.

Memory of the World • India’s three literary works—

Regional Register of Memory of the World on 8th May 2024.
Archaeological Experiential • India’s first Archaeological Experiential Museum is being

• The museum will feature 9 galleries and showcase heritage from
around 800 BC.
International Museum Expo • The 2nd Edition of the International Museum Expo was held at
Science City, Kolkata, on 18th & 19th May 2024, with workshops,
panel discussions, and 45 stalls from startups and government
organizations.
Shivaji Maharaj Coronation • An exhibition celebrating the 350th anniversary of Shivaji
Exhibition Maharaj’s coronation was organized at NGMA(National Gallery of
Modern Art) on 6th June 2024 in collaboration with IGNCA,
featuring 115 paintings by the Chougule artists.

Great Indian Reformers • A new gallery titled "Great Indian Reformers" was inaugurated at
Gallery Victoria Memorial Hall, Kolkata on 6th July 2024.
Humayun’s Tomb World • Inaugurated on 29th July 2024 as a significant addition to Delhi's
Heritage Site Museum tourist attractions.
Partition Horrors • Organized on 14th August 2024 by IGNCA, attended by Partition
Remembrance Day survivors' families, students, and the public, to remember the
horrors of the Partition.
World Folklore Day • Celebrated on 22nd August 2024 by the South Zone Cultural
Centre with 850 artists, focusing on folk and tribal arts.
Bhartiya Kala Mahotsav • Held from 28th September to 6th October 2024 at Rashtrapati
(NEZCC) Nilayan, Hyderabad, with 250 artists.
Mukesh Centenary • A commemorative postage stamp for legendary singer Shri
Commemoration Mukesh was released by the Minister of Culture on his 100th
birth anniversary.
100th Birth Anniversary of • Year-long commemoration from 24th January 2024 to 24th
Karpoori Thakur January 2025, including a commemorative coin and stamp.
• Recipient of Bharat Ratna(Posthumously) in the year 2024
About his life:
• Born on January 24, 1924, in Samastipur, Bihar, Karpoori Thakur
was known as "Jan Nayak" (people's leader).
• Actively participated in the Quit India Movement, spending 26
months in prison.
• Worked as a school teacher and promoted social equality and
Hindi language post-independence.
• Elected to Bihar Vidhan Sabha in 1952, representing marginalized
groups.
• A staunch socialist, supported the Praja Socialist Party and Joint
Socialist Party.
• Undertook a 28-day fast in 1970 to support Telco workers' rights.

Global Spirituality Mahotsav • Held from 14th to 17th March 2024 at Kanha Shanti Vanam,
Hyderabad, bringing together spiritual leaders from all faiths for a
unique spiritual congregation.
2550th Nirvan Mahotsav of • Held on 21st April 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan,
Bhagwan Mahavir New Delhi, with over 10,000 attendees.
• It included cultural performances, exhibitions, and a
commemorative stamp/coin for Bhagwan Mahavir Swami.
Meera Mahotsav • Organized on 4th and 5th October 2024 at Merta, Rajasthan, to
commemorate the 525th birth anniversary of Meera Bai,
featuring cultural performances and devotional activities.
