Purpose of Job:
To plan, implement, maintain and support Network infrastructure, Network expansions and co ordinate integrated
activities across multiple functional lines including third parties to ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements
signed by SITA

Responsibilities:
Supervision of staff Oversee the maintenance of the network infrastructure Perform incident management and
attend to escalated requests by Network engineers to ensure that service level agreements are met Plan and
implement infrastructure

Qualifications and Experience:


Minimum: 3-year National Diploma or Degree in IT related field (Computer Science, Information
Technology/Engineering, BCom etc). Certificate in CCNA and CCNP or equivalent

Experience: 6 - 7 years practical experience in Wide Area Network (WAN), Network topology, Network Design,
Application Layer and routing protocols

Knowledge:
Organizational Awareness Network Infrastructure IT and Government Industry IT Products and Services An in
depth knowledge of Incident Restoration and network principles, WAN principles and topology, Internet,
Application Layer protocols, services and standards, Routers Switches, Service Level Agreement SLA
reporting, A solid understanding of Network Management, VPN technologies and concepts, Modem, Carrier
technology, LAN Principles, Cabling Principles, Network Operating Systems, Computer based knowledge and
experience, LAN knowledge and experience, Advanced Networking knowledge and experience, Advanced WAN
planning and design knowledge and experience, Network Management experience, Advanced Project
Management knowledge and experience Advanced Cisco hardware and software knowledge and experience
Solid knowledge of IP and routing protocols Solid knowledge of WANs and LAN Campus Switched
technologies Advanced Knowledge and experience on layer 3 protocol, static routing, OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, IS

The operation and control of the IT infrastructure (comprising physical or virtual hardware, software, network
services and data storage) either on-premises or provisioned as cloud services) that is required to deliver and
support the information systems needs of a business. Includes preparation for new or changed services, operation

management of systems and components in virtualised and cloud computing environments and the monitoring of
performance of systems and services in relation to their contribution to business performance, their security and
