Hindustan Construction Company (HCC, BSE: 500185, NSE: HCC) is a construction company based in Mumbai, India, founded in 1926.[2] HCC works in various sectors including transportation, power, marine, oil and gas pipeline construction, irrigation, utilities and urban infrastructure. HCC specializes in large-scale civil engineering, and developing construction technologies. It was the first construction company in India to be certified for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 for its quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems. The company is headed by Mr. Ajit Gulabchand, Chairman and Managing Director.[3]

[edit] Disaster Resource Network
HCC is one of the founding members of Disaster Resource Network (DRN),[6] an initiative of the World Economic Forum, formed in the wake of the Gujarat earthquake of 2001. The network acts as a bridge between business and relief organizations during emergencies, to provide relief and rehabilitation support in the mitigation phases of a disaster. Ajit Gulabchand is on the board of DRN Global, and leads DRN India. On 24th May 2010, HCC completed the repair and restoration of the damaged Malad water supply tunnel. This leads to the drinking water supply to the western suburbs of Mumbai
