Club career
Pétur made his professional debut at ÍA and also
played for Feyenoord Rotterdam, RSC Anderlecht
(35), Royal Antwerp FC, Hércules CF, KR and
Tindastóll.

International career
Pétur played 41 caps for Iceland, scoring 11 goals.
