sheet to indicate the correct answer to each of the following questions from 31 to 36.
Narwhals are a kind of whale that not many people have ever seen. That’s because they live in the coldest
waters on Earth, the Arctic Ocean. This sea water is so cold that much of it has turned into ice. Narwhals eat
fish that live on the ocean floor and can dive 1,500 meters to find their prey. It’s very cold down there, but the
narwhal’s body is built to withstand extremely cold temperatures.
Narwhals are smaller than other whales but they are still large. They can weigh up to 1,600 kilograms and are
4 to 5 meters long. They are usually white and black colored. As they get older, their skin gets lighter.
Narwhals have something very special. Each narwhal has a tusk that grows straight out into a spear. These
tusks can be over 2 meters long. These long, sharp tusks make the narwhal look much longer than it is.
Narwhals have been used as food by people for a long time. For native people in the Far North called Inuits,
they are a good source of fat during the cold winters. Inuit people used to hunt them with spears from small
boats. Now, they have a different way of hunting them. Many use modern motorboats to chase them and rifles
to kill them. When a narwhal is caught, the entire whale including its tusk is used. The narwhal’s tusk is a
very valuable possession.

Choosing a Career

thinking about what to do with your life, this may be something to consider.
37.____ Especially because there are so many jobs to choose from and many things to think about, such as
qualifications and financial rewards. 38____ The only answer seems to be “choose one that makes you feel
that you are getting paid for doing something you truly love”.
Unless you have grown up with a talent or are keen on something that you can make a career out of, you need
to consider certain things about yourself. What suits your personality? We are all different and just because
your best friend wants to be a doctor, this does not mean that you should follow. 39.____ This means thinking
carefully about the path you need to follow to get that job. Are you willing to get the training or education
needed? 40____ If it’s just because it’s well paid, then, for sure, sometime in the future you are going to feel
‘empty’, even with a healthy bank account.
Nowadays, there are plenty of online career sites, but the main part has to come from you. You need to be
honest and measure your skills and talents realistically. Also, you may need to talk to your parents who have
their own ideas, based on their own experiences, about what you should do. 41____ They don’t want to see
you having financial problems or being unemployed. But at the end of the day, it is your life. There is no point
in being miserable for the next forty years just to please someone else.
