Describe the different views you have from two of the windows in your house which face in different
directions. (Remember you can describe the atmosphere of what you can see, and any people you
usually see there, as well as the views themselves.)
The same place can paint itself in various ways. From busy office buildings penetrating the blue
membrane above to the green carpet of the fields, a place can exhibit variation with its own will. This
difference can bloom with dignity when two different views are observed of the same place from two
different windows of the building.
The window facing the north of my house offers the authentic view of city life. With bustling
supermarkets to boisterous offices, everything exudes a feeling of liveliness. The office buildings stand
tall and mighty, their walls covered with reflective glasses. Towards the top is a huge sign of their
companies’ names, glowing with a sense of pride. The supermarkets are no less. Each floor is covered
with a plethora of goods ranging from everyday items and groceries to luxury products. They remain
open all day, ready to supply their customers with everything they have. These buildings sparkle with
the faint touch of the sun’s yellowish rays with novelty. Apart from that, are apartments that are made
to appear meagre in the midst of innovation.
This part of the place is usually bustling with people. In the morning, the street is filled to the
brim with office workers with their clean white shirt where the lack of punctuality is the only stain. The
same scene appears in the evening, where group of people exit like myriads of minute ants rushing out
of a crevice for food. Apart from that, the street remains usually empty with some citizens roaming
around or going to the supermarkets.
The atmosphere here remains lively throughout the day. However, sometimes the cacophonous
noises of the people make that part of the house unbearable to stay in. Furthermore, the towering
buildings block any breezes from reaching us. Frequently, the aromatic smell of mouth-watering food
from nearby restaurants enter through the window.
The window facing the south however, offers a contrasting scenario of a pleasant park. The sight
of antiquated trees with their gnarly branches standing on top of the green carpet dappled with a
kaleidoscope of vibrant flowers, act as a cure to sadness. These trees replace the buildings and seems to
be silent witnesses of the passage of time. The sun’s rays in the morning enlightens this place with an
ethereal glow transferring the observer into a different world. In the night, it exudes a feeling of
tranquility and relaxation.
These parks are usually less lively and often calm. In the morning, some elderly people can be
seen to be jogging around the park while in the evening, it is touched by the weary office workers, their
mind seeking for a moment of peace and refreshment. Apart from that are the playful kids who come
with their friends, their only intention being to have fun and enjoy. They are the only ones that make
this place lively.
The atmosphere of the place is that of relaxation. With no screeching or annoying sounds, this is
the place where I can look out of the window and close my eyes without interruptions. The acrid smell
of stress does not overwhelm the scenario like the sight from the other window. Instead, it overwhelms
one with peace. The cool breezes with their soothing tales are allowed to touch the rough skin here.
These two different sights truly light up a places’ specialty. It shows how different the same
place can be when viewed from different places. Such is the perspective of life and its variation.
