3 Enabling Authentications and the Connections
Registering PIN
Factory set default PIN is ‘1234567890’ Change the PIN upon installation.
1. Press the S button inside the battery cover.
2. Enter a new PIN. (4 to 10 digits)
3. Press S button again to finish.

Deleting the PIN

Keyin L registers only 1 PIN. Entering new numbers wil delete and override the existing PIN.

Registering Card Keys

Use the provided Keyin Card Keys only.
Using unauthorized card keys may result malfunctions or troubles and wil void the product warranty.
1. Press the (S) button inside the battery cover.
2. Tap the CardKey to the Card Reader on the External Body.
- To register multiple card keys, tap the card keys sequentially.
- Keyin L registers up to 99 Card Keys.
3. Press the S button again to finish.

Any new registration of a Card Key will delete all prior registrations.
If you are adding a new card, you must register all the Card Keys you want to use once again.

Deleting All Card Keys
You can purge all Cards Keys at once in normal mode.
You must enter Master Mode to manage them individually.

Registering a Smart Phone

1. Turn on Bluetooth in your Smart Phone settings.
2. Download the Keyin app in Play Store or App Store.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions in the Keyin App or download pdf manual from www.keyin.life

Deleting the Smart Phone

1. Delete from the Keyin App.
2. To manually delete from the lock, follow the steps below.
Once you delete and disconnect your smart phone from Keyin smart locks, all the existing setting and stored
user credentials of including family, guest, etc wil be lost together.

Registering and deleting the fingerprints
- You can register up to '99' fingerprints and specify a registration slot for each fingerprint.
If you select a slot with an already registered fingerprint, an error sound will be generated and the registration
mode will be automatically terminated.
You must enter Master Mode to manage them individually.
- The same fingerprint must be entered 3 times, and if it is not recognized as the same fingerprint, it will start
again from the first fingerprint.
- When registering 3 fingerprints, you can check the number of entries from 1 3 on the door lock pad.
- You can register 1 to 99 fingerprints, each associated with a unique identifier.
When registering, you'll choose a random number(1 99) as the identifier for your fingerprint.
If you select a slot with an already registered fingerprint, an error sound will be generated and the registration
mode will be automatically terminated.
- When registering the fingerprint, please register the finger area as wide as possible, and if you register and
use the same fingerprint in another slot(number), the recognition rate will be higher.
* 'Slot' is the random number( 1 99 ) that you can choose to register fingerprints.

Connecting with Keyin Add-on Devices
Availability and the compatibility with add-on devices may vary by the product model and options you chose to
purchase. Refer to these instructions when applicable.

Adding/Deleting Remote Controllers

You can register up to 5 Remote Controllers.
To use multiple Remote Controllers, register the Remote Controllers sequential y.

Adding/Deleting Door phone Bridges

You can add up to 2 Door phone Bridges.
To use multiple Door Phone Bridges, register the Door Phone Bridges sequential y.
Any new addition wil delete all prior registrations.
If you are adding a new Remote Controller, you must register all the Remote Controllers you want to use once again.

Add Press Open button on the Door Phone Bridge.

4 Opening the Lock

Total sum of the entered numbers should be within 30-digit limit. Entering too many numbers wil result an error
with a beep.
In case you’ve entered wrong PIN by mistake, just continue with your correct PIN without having to restart.
Touch the Keypad Enter PIN followed by a random combination and Press Open button.

5 Setting Up Your Lock

Auto Lock Mode
Unlike regular smart digital door locks, Keyin performs double locking, firstly locking up immediately with the Latch
Bolt and secondly with the Dead Bolt at an adjustable time setting.
Your Keyin is set with Auto Lock mode upon factory release but when you need to enable Auto Lock mode,
do the following.

Set the Auto Lock Time

The Dead Bolt wil lock up automatically according to the user's time setting once the door is closed and sensed by
the door sensor on the Edge Bolt. You can set the Auto Lock time, following the steps below.

※ The Latch Bold wil always lock up immediately unless disable by the Manual Lock Mode.

Manual Lock Mode
Keyin offers 2 levels of manual lock mode where you can open the door without authentication.
① Passage Mode
This mode disables both of the Latch Bold and the Dead Bolt from locking and them open.

② Passive Lock Mode

In this mode, Keyin is locked with Latch Bolt only and you can open the door with a slight touch on the keypad
without any authentication.

Use this mode when you need to keep your door passively closed but want to open frequently coming in and out
of the house.
③ Locking up in the Manual Lock Mode
To lock your Keyin from outside while in Manual Lock Mode, touch your keypad longer than 1 second before
leaving your house then your Keyin wil perform normal double locking.
To lock up from inside, you can press the Close while the door is closed.

Volume Control
You can set the system sound volume from mute (zero) to level 7.
Press 1 to raise and 3 to lower the volume.
Repeat touching until you reach a wanted volume level.

6 Security Forced Lockdown
External Lockdown
Enable this external lockdown mode before leaving your house, then Keyin wil set off an alarm sound when your
door is opened from inside without a prior, normal entry by registered authentication keys assuming it an intrusion.
Enable External Lockdown with your PIN or Card Keys following the steps below.

External Lockdown wil be cleared upon a normal entry with registered authentications and Keyin wil return to
usual operation.

Internal Lockdown
Once Internal Lockdown is set on, Keyin won't accept any authentications from outside until you clear this mode
from inside
Enable Press Close Button for 3 seconds.

Disable Press Close Button for 3 seconds.

External Lockdown wil be cleared when you open the door from inside by pushing
the handle.
Internal or External Lockdowns can be set on while the door is closed.

Anti-Tamper Lockdown
5 times of failed attempts to unlock (with wrong card keys or PIN) is considered tamper attempts and Keyin wil
lockdown for 3 minutes refusing to respond to any operation.
You must wait or open Keyin from inside with manual open button or using the handle lever from inside to clear
Anti-Tamper Lockdown.

Handle Bar Lockdown

You can use this function to stop your toddler from getting out of the
house unguardedly.
Manually switch the button to Open or Close side.

Intrusion Alert
Keyin wil set off Alarm Sound if someone tries to forcefully open the door while the Keyin is locked or attack/
damage the Front Lock considering it an intrusion.

High Temperature Alert

If the temperature inside Keyin reaches abnormally high temperature, Keyin wil automatically unlock to help
escape considering it a fire.

Turing off Alarms

Inside Press 'Close' buttonor 'S' button for 5 seconds
Outside Unlock with any registered credentials

7 Master Mode
In Master Mode, you can manage multiple user credentials and the settings individually.
You can register only 1 Master PIN and this can be used as a regular PIN to unlock.
Master PIN don’t support anti-peep fake combination. Enter the straight PIN only.
Do not press S button in Master Mode, which wil result a beeping error sound. If Keyin is accessible by
multiple users (i.e. installed at a public gate), this is to prohibit outsiders from manipulating,
sneakily registering or altering PINs or Key Cards.
If you’ve lost the Master PIN and want to restore, Keyin must be serviced for initialization.
Upon switching the Master Modes, existing authentication keys will be lost.
※ All the other settings including Smartphone pairing and Add-on devices will remain unaffected.

Enabling Master Mode (= switching to Master Mode)

As you switch from normal mode to Master Mode using code 99, all the existing authentication keys including PIN
and Card Keys wil be deleted.

Adding and Deleting user PINs
- Keyin has 99 slots for registering unique PINs. Keep the record of slots used.
- You can’t re-use the same PIN for a different slots, which will result an error with beeping sound.
- If you reuse a slot for different PIN, the old PIN will be deleted and replaced by a new PIN.
- Master PIN can’t be resued.
At the end of registering a PIN in a slot, press Setup button ( ) to finish or press Open button ( ) to continue
registering another PIN.
* 'Slot' is the random number( 1 99 ) that you can choose to register fingerprints.

8 Emergency Backup
Low Battery
When the battery level is low, Keyin wil play a melody upon unlocking and
show the Low Battery icon.
Normal 1.5V Alkaline batteries in AA(LR6) size are used for Keyin L. Expected
battery life with an assumed use of 10 times a day is about 1 year. Replace the
batteries as soon as you get the low battery warning signs.
Take precautions, because the batteries may leak if inserted in wrong direction.
Change all of batteries at once even though some of them are stil alive. Mixing
new batteries with old ones can also cause leakage.

Opening the Lock when the battery is out

When the battery has run out, you can still open the lock
using emergency power from outside.
Contact a regular 9V battery to the emergency power
outlet on Front Lock (as in the picture) and unlock with
your registered authentications.

Opening with Emergency Keys

In case your Keys is not functional somehow, you can use the Emergency Override Key to open the lock manually.
Unlike regular Smart Locks, your Keyin is a full-motorized mortise, so you should hold the override key up in the
open position while opening the door.

When the Lock is stuck

Depending on proper installation of Keyin and the mechanical fitness with your door and door frame, you may find
the Dead Bolt or Larch Bolt has become stuck, unable to move without having a problem with Keyin itself.
In this case, please consult a door professional for improvement.

Safety Precautions
Installation in open environment with rain exposure, direct sunray, or too humid and salty
places(beaches) is not recommended.
Disassembling the device can cause malfunction and can be dangerous.
Maintain the device clean. Do not spray water directly. Do not use chemical substances like
benzene and alcohol to clean the device.
Do not apply excessive shock to the device.
Take precautions in managing passwords.
Check if the door is properly closed when leaving.
Be careful not to lose card keys.
Getting hit by door handle can cause injury.
Using in places with severe condensation can cause problems to the device.

10 Warranty
In general, Keyin provides a limited warranty by the manufacturer and all support service is available on the local
basis only.
Our warranty is void in case the product is purchase from unauthorized sellers, used outside the country unless
with a global warranty, abused out of the provided instructions or used under abnormal conditions.
Warranty services scope and conditions may vary by the policy of your local suppliers. Please contact your local
supplier or service providers for more details.
