Constitution
Zone 15, Agbo-Edo Market, Nnewi

Preamble
We, the members of Friends Club of Nigeria, having resolved to unite in harmony under
the name One Love Friends Club of Nigeria—dedicated to promoting mutual welfare,
financial support, and brotherhood—do hereby give ourselves the following constitution.

Article 1: Name, Motto, and Membership


A. Name:
The Club shall be known as One Love Friends Club of Nigeria.

B. Members:
Members shall be called “Friends”.

C. Motto:
"One Love Keeps Us Together"

Article 2: Supremacy of the Constitution


This constitution and its provisions shall be binding on all members.

Article 3: Aims and Objectives


 - Promote daily savings to support members' businesses and finances.
 - Help members overcome financial and economic challenges.
 - Support philanthropy toward needy members.
 - Foster welfare and unity among members.

Article 4: Membership
A. Eligibility

 - Open to right-minded individuals.


 - Applicants must not have criminal convictions.
 - Must be sponsored by two members with valid endorsements at a general meeting.

B. Registration
 - ₦50,000 and two cartons of Heineken beer.
 - Must pay backdated levies if events were attended before registration.

C. Register

 - The Secretary shall maintain an updated register of all members.

D. Rights & Voluntary Exit

 - Members have the right to voluntarily exit if not indebted.

Article 5: Duties, Obligations & Rights of Members


Duties:

 - Cooperate to achieve club objectives.


 - Regular and punctual attendance at meetings.
 - Timely payment of dues and levies.
 - Uphold club image and unity.
 - Participate in fellow members’ events.

Rights & Benefits:

 - ₦100,000 from each member for personal celebrations.


 - Club support during weddings and burials.
 - Burial support :in the case of the death of a member the union will pay a
condolence visit to the family. At the members burial the union will give the bereaved
family the sum of 400,000 Naira. Foods and entertainment will be provided by the
union. If the wife of a member dies the union will pay a condolence visit to the
bereaved and they will be given the sum of 200,000 Naira during the burial.
 Article 6: Meetings
 - Held monthly on the last Sunday, 3PM – 6PM, or as scheduled by the Secretary or
P.R.O.
 - Executive meetings to be held as needed.
 - Notices must be issued to all members.
 -Absentees will be fined 5000 Naira.
 -Late-comers will be fined 2000 Naira.

Quorum:

 - Executive Meetings: Two-thirds majority.


 - General Meetings: One-third of members.

Voting:

 - Only financial members can vote or be voted for.


Article 7: Officers and Their Functions
A. Executive Positions:

 - President
 - Vice President
 - General Secretary
 - Financial Secretary
 - Treasurer
 - Provost

B. Removal from Office:

 - Officers may be removed via a general meeting vote in the club’s interest.

Article 8: Finance
Sources of Income:

 - Daily savings (₦1,000 minimum per day).


 - Loans with two guarantors and gift of 2 cartons of beer.
 - Registration fees, levies, fines, donations, and gifts.
 - Interest from granted loans.
 - (Interest from granted loans Ten Naira per each one thousand Naira)

Banking:

 - Managed by the President, Treasurer, and Financial Secretary.


 - Cheque book kept by the President.

Audit:

 - Three members appointed annually to audit accounts.

Article 9: Disciplinary Actions and Penalties


 - Absence from meetings: ₦2,000
 - Late arrival at meetings: ₦1000
 - Late to outings: ₦2,000
 - Late arrival at functions (after presentation of gifts): ₦10,000
 - Total absence from functions without valid excuse: ₦50,000
 - Fighting: ₦20,000 per party (after judgment)
 -After judgement the guilty party will present to the union “A full healthy and live goat”
The other will forfeit his initial fine of 20,000 Naira which would already have been
paid before judgement.
 - Verbal abuse (especially under alcohol influence): ₦20,000
 - Failure to attend condolence visit: ₦10000

Event Attendance Conditions:

 - Members must be debt-free.


 - A surety must be presented for the function.
 -Two cartons of beer will be used to notify the union of the function.

Article 10: Amendment of the Constitution


Amendments can be made at any time, with proposals subject to member deliberation
and approval.(two-third majority before a constitutional amendment can be approved).
