To – Towards – Into
To: ‘To’ has the sense of destination
‘towards of direction
Example: She went to office.
We went towards site of the accident.
Into: ‘Into’ denotes movement towards
the interior of something.
Example: A cat jumped into the well.
‘Please look into this matter’
We have entered into an agreement.
At: ‘At’ has usually the idea of aim.
Example: A boy threw a stone at the dog.
For: ‘For’ is used to denote direction
when the verb shows the begining of a
movement.
Example: The child leaves for the school
at 7 am.
Against: ‘Against’ show contact or pres-
sure.
Example: A boy threw the ball against
the wall.
Off: ‘Off’ show separation. It is used in
the sense of from the surface of and also
‘down from’.
