My life in the past was not very exciting. It was just a cycle of going to school then
coming back home. The same cycle went on until the summer two years ago. That
summer my dad took me to his village, and I had the most thrilling but the most
frightening experience in my life.
The village is a peaceful place by a river, with green fields around. We stayed for a
week in my grandparents’ house, with my aunt, uncle, and my cousin Tam. I was eager
to explore new things in the countryside. Every day, Tam took me to ride a buffalo in the
field. It was so pleasant and exhilarating to sit on the buffalo, watching the scenery
around, and listening to birds singing. Tam sat before me on the buffalo, supervising it to
wade through the river or the rice field.
I experienced the happiest days in my life until the fourth day when an accident
happened. When Tam urged the animal to run faster and faster, we felt overjoyed. Then
suddenly I loosed hold of Tam and fell down. I felt hurt and terrified, but luckily I wasn’t
heavily injured. I still remember the terror until now. Anyway, it was indeed a “once in a
lifetime” kind of exciting experience for me.
