Linking phrases: FANBOYS ( for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so), actually, because, for
example, in general, sometimes, usually, in contrast, however…. ( connectives,
markers  giúp cho người nghe biết mình đang ở đâu và mình đang nói gì.

Method 1:
Move from the general to the particular – add more detail.

Do you like your country?
Of course! I love my country – I consider myself as a patriot. One thing I like in
particular is the cuisine/ landscape. The variety of food ranging from luxurious dishes
to street food attracts not only the locals but also the tourists.
What is the transportation like in your town?
It is not too bad overall. It’s fairly easy to get from one place to another. One form of
transport that is particularly good is bus system. It is very regular and quick. The taxi
service is pretty good but people can often get caught up in traffic

That is a tough question. It really depends on the day and what my plan is. To give you
an example, I would prefer to study at home in the morning if I have to run a deadline. I
will get more thing done that way when nobody disturbs me. But sometimes when I
have to do the teamwork, I would do it in the afternoon when everybody is awake.
Method 4: talk about results and consequences  use the word: so, therefore, hence,

Do you like to work in the team?
Yes, I enjoy the company of others especially in doing project. So, I usually spend a
good deal of time with other people to know more about their perspective( viewpoint)
as well as their hobbies.

dạng câu hỏi có 02 vế  khách quan hơn
Contrast: whereas, while, however
Compare: so sánh hơn, nhất, bằng / so sánh danh từ the same as. Similar to ….
Inferior to …. Superior to…
Do you prefer to study by yourself or in a group?
I prefer to study by myself because I get so much more done that way. Whereas, study
in with a group ( group study) makes me distracted and I can not always do what I like.

Yes: oh why not/ of course, my answer would be yes . I have a great interest in protecting
environment. By joining a company specialized in environmental protection, I would have more chances
to raise awareness about protecting our habitat.
NO. I am afraid. Protecting environment is not really my thing. Actually, my degree do not help me
to fullfil any jobs in environmental proctection. / I don’t have that great passion toward environment.
2- How : methods, ways, measures …..
There are many ways for us as an ordinary citizen to protect environment. First of all, we can
obey the environmental laws such as do not littering, throwing trash in appropriate place. Moreover,
reducing the use of plastics, do more recycling… would do more good than harm
3- I have to admit that I haven’t done enough for the …./ even though I am an active member of … /
eventhough I do not throw trash on the street or I have been very active in recycling, I feel that I could do
more to protect our nature.
4- Well we don’t have an actual subject about protecting environment… however, we do have some
lessons about how to recycle, reuse or reduce during our elementary school program.
 1- Yes: actually, watching TV prgram about wild animals is one of my favorite activities while I was in the
elementary school. Thannks to those times, I have gained many knowledge about wild animals, the
wilderness and how to protect them from illegal hunting
No, watching this type of Tv program is just not my thing. For me, I would love to see them in the real
life while they are running freely in the wild.
2- Yes I did, especially in Biology class back in secondary school. During these classes, we were taught
about many kinds of animals including exticned and nearly extincted/ endangered animals
3- Beside watching them on the TV, I had had a chance to see them in the Safari in Phu Quoc Island. It
was during our school field trip when I had an up-close look at the giraffes
4- The only place that pops up in my mind is Africa where many lands are still available for wild animals
despite the rapid development of urbanization.

mô tả . I usually don’t care much about ads, not to mention I feel it bothersome.
However, there was one ad that I couldn’t take my eyes off. It was a coca cola
commercial in Super Bowl …..

- Opinion : cảm nhận, ý kiến  show off your vocab
- Future ( optional) câu kết lesson? Nói về vấn đề khách quan hơn.

We were teammates in several science projects in junior highschool. we found

Company X

Intro: I am going….. whose products can be found in every household in Vietnam. It’s a consumer product of Company X
(P&G, Unilever, Coca-Cola, ….)

They are the first multnational corporations to establish in Vietnam. After several decades of developing, they have
become a giant in this competitive market with a plethora/ myriad of household brands like……

Luckily, I have an uncle working there as the regional head manager so I have so many insider stories/ insight about
how successful this company is. My uncle told that every year the company creates several thousands of jobs for
people aged from 18 to 35 in Vietnam, making it a promising company that anyone would dream of.

As it is a retail brand so the company needs a large number of employees working in different fields such as workers in
factories, salesmen for promoting products, as well as experts/ specialists working in research and development
sections.

Well, it is not exaggerated to say that Company X has touched many lives of VN people. Even in this competitive market
and ever- growing demand from consumers, it still holds a dear position in many people’s hearts. Moreover, it
becomes a symbol of success that youngsters could look up to when they want to pursue a career regardless family
background or cultures.
My country has been putting a lot of efforts in protecting environment and improve the living standards for all. There are
many laws being passed in recent years, however, I would like to talk about….. / introduce one method to improve/
protect the environment. It is…..

Car- free day  improve air quality especially in urban area/ metropolitan area

Hoàn cảnh: it is quite unfortunate to see the environment being degraded day by day and if we don’t have any
immediate action to protect it, we will face the irreversible consequences in the near future. One of the biggest
challenges for individuals and government is how to control the air quality. It is undeniable that the exhaust fumes
released either by factories and vehicles are the main cause of this problem, making the rate of respiratory diseases and
even lung cancer increase significantly . Therefore, a free-car day would be the solution to this problem. ( should have:
ielts writing task 2)- ( first heard of this idea from an article found online while I was doing research for my school
environment project)

Talking about who would benefit it, I think it would definitely be the people in this area as they can enjoy the fresh air
for at least one day, moreover, they can realize the importance of having a clean air and perhaps they would have
better awareness toward proteting environment.

A ban of plastic bag  protect soil quality, and prevent the damage to beauty of public areas

Hoàn cảnh: stay in the soil forever, as well as it release harmful toxins into soil and water, becoming a cause of many
dead animals both in land and water. Therefore , a ban of plastic bags shoud be established. This act could be
implemented in the shopping areas like supermarket or shopping mall, morever, government could raise awareness by
having campaign in schools and other public areas like bus stops, sports stadium.

People would enjoy the clean and clear surrounding and animals would not lose their lives because of it.

- Dùng các trang web về du lịch để tìm kiếm: từ vựng mô tả địa điểm (5 từ), hoạt động đặc trưng của khu
vực ( 5 hoạt động)
