“USED TO” / “DIDN’T USE TO”


Be used to; means 'be familiar with' or 'be accustomed to'.

"used to" has 2 main uses: to describe past habits or states that are no longer true;
"used to + infinitive," indicates a past habit or state that does not exist in the present.

"Used to + infinitive" (past habits and states): that were true or happened but are not true anymore., it’s
followed by the base form of the verb.

Examples:
"I used to play the piano, but I don't anymore."
"There used to be a cinema on this street, but it closed down."
"She didn't use to like vegetables, but now she eats them regularly." (Negative form)
"Did you use to live in London?" (Question form)

"be/get used to + noun/gerund”, indicates being accustomed or familiar with something, it can be used in present,
past, and future tenses.

Examples:
"I am used to the noise in this city." (familiar with the noise)
"She is getting used to the new job." (becoming accustomed to the job)
"He wasn't used to working long hours." (wasn't accustomed to the long hours)
"They will get used to the cold weather." (will become accustomed to the cold weather)
