INTRODUCTION

Becoming a professional someday would open


wide doors of opportunities in the business
industry. Obtaining a certain job title or position is
not as easy as asking for a piece of candy from
someone else. There are application procedures
that you have to go through. A few of the many
steps would be writing your application letter and
resume.
Application Letter

It discusses the applicant's qualifications,


knowledge and skills, and job experiences
suited to the job position being applied for.
This is usually submitted with a Resume or
CV and other supporting documents (The
Balanced Careers, n.d.).
The 7 Basic-part Format
1. Heading (Sender’s Information)
2. Date
3. Inside Address (Receiver’s Information)
4. Salutation
5. Body (divided into 3 parts)
a. Opening (greeting, express your purpose)
b. Main (discuss details, state your
qualifications)
c. Closing (express hopes/expectations,)
6. Complimentary Close (Respectfully, Truly, Sincerely
Yours)
7. Signature (Name in all CAPS, signature above)
•We may use the Full-block style (all entries are on
the left side of the paper)
•Basic Font styles and sizes to use
Arial - 11
Times New
Roman - 12
Calibri - 12
•Spacing: Law of symmetry
•Paper Size: Long/Short ( any size will do; may
depend upon the agency’s
or company’s requirement)
Envelope: Would depend upon the requirement

It is a standardized document commonly used to


apply for jobs. It is intended to display personal
information, education, credentials, skills, work
experiences (Jobscan, n.d.) and any other
essential information your prospective employer
should know about you.
Resume could be made in different formats. Just
choose the one that is relevant to you.
How to write a Resume

1. Add your name and Contact Information, with 2x2


picture on the right side of the paper.
2. Career Objective (mention the job title you’re applying for,
add 2–3 key skills, and say what you hope to achieve in the job.
Keep it 2 to 3 sentences long.)

from grammatical errors.
