In the 21st century, the perceived importance of school libraries is declining due to the rise of advanced

technologies. Students now readily access information through the internet and mobile devices, finding
these readily available and portable alternatives more convenient than traditional libraries. The ease of
searching online, coupled with the ability to store vast amounts of information digitally, has shifted
student preferences towards digital resources. This shift presents challenges for school libraries, forcing
them to adapt and integrate digital resources to remain relevant and useful learning hubs. The question
becomes how to maintain the value of physical spaces and resources in the face of this technological
shift.

Global School for Technological Studies recognizes the need for a blended approach to resource
provision. In addition to traditional tangible resources such as books, magazines, and journals, the
school provides an extensive e-book collection. This digital library offers students a convenient and
accessible alternative, providing compressed educational files readily available on various devices. The
school aims to leverage the benefits of both physical and digital resources, creating a comprehensive
learning environment that caters to diverse student needs and preferences. This dual approach is
intended to address the evolving needs of students in the digital age.

Global School for Technological Studies initiated this study to thoroughly investigate the challenges
faced by library users and pinpoint the key factors impacting their library usage. The research aims to
identify and analyze the constraints affecting students' access to and utilization of both physical and
digital library resources. This includes examining time management issues, financial limitations, and the
overall effectiveness of the library's services and resources in meeting the needs of the student body.
The findings will inform strategies for improving library services and ensuring that the library remains a
vital component of the school's educational ecosystem.
