Subject: Representation for Transfer to Hooghly Office
Respected Sir,
I, Indranil Das, T.A., currently posted in PCIT 1, Circle-40, Kolkata, humbly seek your
kind consideration regarding my request for a transfer to the Hooghly office, which is
close to my residence. I would like to refer to my earlier representation dated
06.09.2024, where I had made a similar request for this transfer.
I would like to bring the following points to your attention:
Background as a Sportsperson:
● I was recruited under the Meritorious Sports Quota in February 2012 as a
FIDE-rated chess player.
● I have represented the Income Tax Department in numerous chess tournaments,
bringing accolades such as a Gold Medal for the department.
Current Medical Condition:
● I am suffering from acute lumbar radiculopathy, which causes severe back pain
and restricts my ability to stand for long durations.
● Due to this condition, I am unable to travel by public transport, such as trains and
buses, where standing is often unavoidable.
● I am under medical treatment and require rest, as advised by my doctor
(supporting medical documents enclosed).
Personal Circumstances:
● My father, a cancer patient with a pacemaker, requires my care as I am the only
child.
● I am also managing chronic health conditions, including acute diabetes and a
congenital heart valve issue (MVP), which require regular medical attention.
Financial Difficulties Due to Non-Receipt of Salary:
● As my salary has been withheld for a prolonged period, I am facing severe
financial difficulties in managing my daily expenses, including the cost of
commuting to my current office.
● Traveling to PCIT 1, Circle-40, Kolkata, involves long and arduous journeys by
public transport. Given my current financial situation, it has become almost
impossible for me to afford this commute and travel regularly.
Professional and Personal Challenges:
● Despite my health challenges and financial constraints, I have always fulfilled my
office duties diligently and maintained my chess practice. However, my current
posting requires me to commute long hours, which exacerbates my medical
condition and limits my efficiency.
Benefits of Posting at Hooghly Office:
● The Hooghly office's proximity to my residence will not only reduce the strain of
commuting but also help me focus better on my official responsibilities.
● It will enable me to continue my chess practice, bringing further laurels to the
department, and provide adequate care to my ailing father while managing my
own health effectively.
I kindly request your good office to consider my representation and approve my transfer
to the Hooghly office. This adjustment will not only help me serve the department more
effectively but also allow me to balance my personal and professional responsibilities
better, especially during this challenging phase.
