READ the following text carefully.
Jamie Lynn Spears is a teen star who likes staying close to home. She arranges her schedule
so she only works during the summer and is back home in Kentwood, Louisiana, for the school year.
“I do all my filming in the summer so I can go to school and hang out at the mall with my friends.” It
takes her 30 minutes to get from her little town to the nearest mall and an hour to get to her favourite
store, Abercrombie & Fitch, but, for Jamie Lynn, it’s the perfect arrangement.
The 14-year-old surrounds herself with family and friends, including long-time best buds,
Sarah and Leigha, who join Jamie Lynn during the summer. And she never goes anywhere without
her “baby”, her dog Allie, a cross between a yorkie and a poodle.
During the school year, Jamie Lynn is just a regular kid with normal roles, like being a
cheerleader and softball player. For fun, James, as her pals call her, loves to watch scary movies.
“When I’m by myself, no! But when I’m with a bunch of friends, yeah. I want to be in a scary movie,
like The Ring, really bad,” she says. The menu for a fright-night movie gathering? Jamie Lynn’s
favourites: sweet tea, Rotel cheese dip and chips. Their conversation typically bounces between
celebrity crushes – Ashton Kutcher – and favourite singers – Hilary Duff.
When asked who she admires most, Jamie Lynn gets serious. “My sister,” she answers,
“because she’s so pretty.”
