Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources
Our critical infrastructure is vital to our nation s operations and any disruption to services can have
catastrophic outcomes to critical components of our country s assets. The private sector owns
approximately 90% of our critical infrastructure and dependencies between systems make it difficult
to show critical cyber threats within the United States. Threats between state and non state actors
continue to exponentially destabilize securityand privacy. Although attacks to date haven t caused
extensive overwhelming disruptions, the potential is substantial. Antagonistic nations or terrorists
may use cyber based tools to upset military operations, networks, or other critical operations. Policy
maker s decisions have influenced protection of critical infrastructurekey resources and the
overarching goal of the NIPP is to build a safer, more resilient and secure nation by mitigating the
threats of deliberate attacks by adversaries that exploit our nation s CIKRs. Understanding and
building partnerships between government, private, and public sectors, sharing information about
threats and other dangers shall build stewardship to CIKR protection programs.

Exploration And Production Of Petroleum
In 1858 in Titusville, Pennsylvania the first oil well was drilled (Congressional Digest 2010).
The thirty eight years following that first onshore oil well would be dedicated to searching for oil
resources and by 1896 those who searched accomplished what they set out to do (Congressional
Digest 2010). They drilled in an offshore well just off of Summerland, California (Congressional
Digest 2010). Oil had become an invaluable source of energy in America in 1910 and the people
of America had begun to invent better ways of getting oil (Congressional Digest 2010). The
business expanded into the Gulf of Mexico in 1938 (Congressional Digest 2010). In the 1940s, after
the war, demand for oil rose and regulations on the prices of oil became nonexistent (Congressional
Digest 2010). The petroleumindustry continued to spread through open waters. By the 1950s oil
became the second largest revenue generator for the country (Congressional Digest 2010).
Advancements in technology resumed to progress and grow throughout the years allowing for
easier exploration and production of petroleum in deeper water (Congressional Digest 2010). In
1969 crude oil was poured out into the Dos Cuadras Field due to a rupture on Union Oil s Platform
A (Congressional Digest 2010). This oil spill caused Congress to not only pass several laws such as
the National Environmental Policy Act, the Clean Air Act, and the Coastal Zone Management Act
but also begin studying oil spills. This was not the first
Essay on Non-Profit Organization Analysis
There used to be a time when zoos used to be full of animals. A time when extinction was not a
problem. That was the past. Today, zoos all around the world are missing many animals such as
the African elephant or the dodo bird. All of these wonderful animals became extinct because we
were careless enough to let them all die. World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is an organization that is
trying to prevent extinction from happening. WWF is an environmental organization dedicated to
protecting the world s wildlife and wetlands ( World Wildlife Fund ). It is one of the largest private
supported conservation organizations in the world, with support from one million members in just
the United States. WWF was formed on September 11, 1961 in Morges,... Show more content on

WWF has also started many other interesting programs. One of these programs is Earth Hour
which is a global event that is held on the last Saturday of March annually, asking households and
businesses to turn off their non essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise
awareness towards the need to take action on climate change ( World Wildlife Fund ). WWF began
in a small town in Switzerland by normal people and become one of the most involved and
dedicated charitable organization the world has ever seen.
If we want to pass a living planet on to our children, then we need to realize that our actions matter.
WWF is a wonderful organization that is dedicated to preserving the environment and our planet.
WWF is different from other environmental protection organizations. What makes WWF so unique
is that it is a non profit organization meaning that all of the money earned goes toward
accomplishing their mission. WWF does not even spend a penny on advertisement. They rely on
their volunteers to advertise the organization to their friends and families. WWF has been around for
a long time. People have known and trusted this organization since 1961. This means that WWF is
an old and reliable organization which uses our money wisely. Lastly, this organization offers grants
and scholarships to financially challenged high school students who want to attend college and fulfill
their dreams. The people who belong to this
John Couey
Laws are made to keep a society at peace among the people. They can protect people from each
other, while maintaining a functioning and productive society. However some crime victims may
have laws named after them. These laws typically address legal ineffectiveness, which could have
helped to find and punish the criminal in that case. Laws that have been named in honor of a crime
victim, aim to protect future potential victims and lessen the chances of recurrences of previous cases.
Nine year old Jessica Lunsford was abducted, raped and killed in Florida on February of 2005.
Previous convicted sex offender John Couey had a long history full of sex crimes. He failed to tell
police after he changed residences, which made it difficult to find him. He was living with his half
sister in a trailer. Many were infuriated in Florida and surrounding communities because Couey was
not known to the community as a registered sex offender and was only living miles away from ...

The more research I found on this law, I honestly just do not know if this law is detailed enough.
For example, Jessica s law stated that a sex offender must reside 2,000 feet from a school or park
where children converge. I am slightly irritated by section of the law because honestly who will
be watching this person to make sure they do not pass the 2,000 foot mark. I feel if a sex offender
really wants to than they will do it under any circumstances. I am just curious to how this will stop
them if they do. As of right now there is no set penalty for violating the 2,000 foot rule. Another
concern I have is how is a person going to be electronically monitor as sex offender for their
lifetime. I am not sure how the criminal justice will make for this arrangement. The law does not
define how to measure 2,000 feet, child gatherings and monitoring offenders when they are off
Apollo 13 Exemplary Leadership Practices
Apollo 13 Kouzes and Posner identified five exemplary leadership practices, or guidelines to become
an effective leader. During Apollo 13 s mission to the moon, Gene Krantz, NASA flight control
director (Bartley, 2017), demonstrated one of the practices, enabling others to act, when faced with
challenges. This practice emphasizes on building trust to foster collaboration, and developing
competence through self determination, which results in strengthening others (Kouzes Posner,
2017). The Apollo 13mission was going smoothly until their space craft suffered severe damage,
where Krantz and his crew were faced finding solutions to bring the astronauts back to earth (IMDB,
n.d.).

Furthermore, Krantz understood he was not an expert on the space craft, and needed everyone
who built it to find a solution for this problem. This demonstrates the concept of feeling that
everyone in the group knows he or she needs the other to be successful (Kouzes Posner, 2017, p.
217). Krantz reiterated the goal, and established everyone was responsible for their task, as well
as, showing the initiative and trusting the crew on there area of expertise, following the practice of
enabling others to act (Kouzes Posner, 2017). Another principle for enabling others to act is share
knowledge and information (Kouzes Posner, 2017). Essentially, an effective leader knows what
they are doing and talking about, which sets the tone for how others behave towards each other;
which in turn, builds trust (Kouzes Posner, 2017). As demonstrated by this clip, other members of
the team started trusting the crew members with there area of expertise and asked for their advice.
This was because Krantz asked for others first, which showed that even a leader needs the other s
SAT Vs SAT Testing
Are you planning to take the SAT or ACT soon? The two tests are similar, but some important
differences may make the choice of which to take more difficult. The good news is that Gables
Tutoring in the Coral Gables and Coral Springs, Florida, area will prepare students for whichever
test they choose. Whether opting for the tutoring center or a private tutor, our staff of experienced
educators will bring testees up to speed through testpreparation or English and math tutoring.
While the old SAT focused on a broad range of content and skills, the new SAT will focus on in
depth analysis of content and evidence. It is basically an aptitude test, testing reasoning and verbal
abilities. The math section, in particular, will be quite different.
Animal Experimentation Is Unethical
Imagine living inside a locked closet without any control over any aspect of your life. You can t
choose when and what you eat, how you will spend your time, whether or not you will have a
partner and children, or who that partner will be. You can t even decide when the lights go on and off.
Animal experimentation is when live animals are forced to undergo a scientific experiment that will
cause them pain, misery, anguish, or lasting harm. Different types of animal experiments include
force feeding animals with dangerous substances, leaving animals in radiation, surgically removing
organs to cause damage, forcing animals to breathe in toxic gases, and putting animals in terrifying
situations to create mental illnesses. Common animals used in animal experimentation include, but
are not limited to, mammals, birds, fish, amphibians, octopuses, rats, and mice. These animals are all
exposed to horrific and terrifying experiments. Animal experimentation is cruel and no animal
should have to endure that kind of undeserving pain. Reasons against animal experimentation are
that it is unethical, there are many flaws in animal experimentation, there are better options other
than animal testing, and animal experimentation is unnecessary. Animals suffer through a great deal
of pain when it comes to animal experimentation, and the tests performed are very unethical. Each
year more than 115 million animals are killed in United States laboratories for various amounts of
reasons such as
