Symptoms Affect My Performance At Work
While the migraine and preceding symptoms affect my performance at work, this condition has also
affected my personality as well as my personal life. Having surprise migraine attacks more days than
not has unquestionably changed who I am. By nature, I am a friendly, outgoing, energetic, happy
person with a sense of humor. With migraines, I am a crabby, depressed, frustrated, emotional
person. My headachesdictate my moods and character. When I wake in the morning with swollen
fingers and a tight neck, my mood is instantly that of worry because those are signs that a
migraine will soon arrive. I start thinking of all the things I will not be able to do and plans that I
may have to cancel. I will not be able to walk my dogs, work in my garden, go to Zumba, clean
the house, socialize with friends or cook dinner for my family. Sometimes I avoid making plans
at all because I know I will eventually be sick. I withdraw from my friends and family. My mood
shifts to anger. Angry because I cannot enjoy my life as I want. Then I am grouchy and sad. I
worry that others will think I am weak or dramatic. Many days I try not to let the migraine take
over my life. I fight to continue to go about my day; but I am usually irritable with my friends,
family, and co workers. My frustration level increases. There are limitations of what I can do
because most of the time I can barely move my head without experiencing unbearable painor
vomiting. I try to fake through so I do not
How Different Ideologies And Policies Have Had Profound...
TOPIC

What is an example of a policy or services that seeks to uphold minority language rights in
Australia? Discuss as a case study.

CONTENTION

1. What is your essay contention?

This essay will examine how different ideologies and policies have had profound negative and
positive impacts on minority group languages/indigenous languages in Australia. The replacement of
assimilation ideology by multiculturalism and introduction of new policy at national and state level,
to some extent, had positive impacts on minority group languages in general and in particular on
indigenous languages. The policy that we will present as our case study is the National Policy on
languages.

2. What are they key terms of your essay contention?

Comparison Of Beowulf, The Canterbury Tales, And Sir Gawain
The stories of Beowulf, The Canterbury Tales, and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight are
exceptional examples of how literature has evolved. The story of Beowulf was lengthy, but didn t
contain as much description as The Canterbury Tales. Over the course of 300 years (the amount of
time between when Beowulfand The Canterbury Tales were written) the way of writinghad developed
from short storyto full books. One story was split into three parts, while another was split into
multiple parts. In the three part story , there is a shorter ending than the story with multiple parts.
Between Beowulf and The Canterbury Tales, there are vast differences considering the writing
styles, word choice, and descriptions. Beowulf, which was written in 1000 A.D, is the story of the
warrior Beowulf fighting against the monster Grendel, who is killing innocent people (n.d.). It is
unsure who wrote Beowulf, considering it was mainly a story told during the Anglo Saxon period.
Throughout Beowulf, it lacked description. The author didn t describe Beowulf in detail, so the
reader doesn t know much about him. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Canterbury Tales is a story of many people going on a journey to Canterbury while telling
stories, in which the person who tells the best story will win a free meal (1476). There is a wide
variety of people in the story, including regular townspeople and people of the church. In Anglo
Saxon culture, church officials were highly praised for their way of life. If you were a church
official, you would be considered one of the highest ranked people. As described in The Canterbury
Tales, most church officials were disliked by the author, Geoffrey Chaucer. Church officials during
this time were supposed to live minimally, and usually they didn t have very much money. The
majority of the church officials in this story were either wealthy, greedy, or overall didn t act like a
regular church official
Implementing Year-Round School
It s Summer Vacation WOHOOO... or is it. Schools and districts around the country have been
starting to implement year round schooling for their students after the idea has been in the air of
discussion since the 1970s. Year round schooling is a system when the usual yearly summer break
is switched to a series of smaller breaks throughout the year, usually lasting 2 4 weeks before the
students return to school. The most used form of year round schooling is the 45 15 plan, in which
students attend school for 45 days then get 15 days off. Even though there hasn t been much
national news coverage, the number of year round schools has been on a rise of 764 or about 26%
since 2007 and in some places it s only getting more popular by the school

Essay on The Cathedral by Raymond Carver
Cathedral is a short story ultimately about enlightment, finding something more meaningful and
deeper with in one self. Although from an observing point of view nothing more in the story
happens then a blind man assisting the narrator in drawing a cathedral. Although as known, the
narrator s experience radically differs from what is actually observed . He is enlightened and
opened up to a new world of vision and imagination. This brief experience will have a life long
effect on him. The reason for this strong and positive effect is not so much the relationship made
between the blindman and the narrator or even the actual events leading up to this experience, but
rather it is mostly due to what was drawn by the narrator. A... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

His further ignorance about the blind are focused in on Robert since he is aware of his upcoming
visit. Hearing the marriage stories about Robert from his wife the narrator cannot realize how a
woman could love a blind man, It was beyond my understanding. Hearing this, I felt sorry for the
blind man for a little bit. And then I found myself thinking what a pitiful life this women must have
led (508). This ignorance and immature understanding of relationships overshadows his attitude
toward Roberts visit, unwanted and condescending. His attitude toward the blind man seems to
change though before and furtherly during the connection they make as they draw the cathedral
together. Although there is no evidence that the narrator s overall ignorances and prejudices are
gone from the experience, it is very clear however that he does come to some sort of revelation
and enlightment, My eyes were still closed. I was in my house. I knew that. But I didn t feel like I
was inside anything (515). Because what the narrator draws is a cathedral it is only assumable that
this enlightment that the narrator experiences has to do with values of Christianity, in this case it
would be a realization of equality and treating people with love, little is said about the effects this
revelation has on him. The narrator through out most of the short story comes of as a pretty shallow
character. Besides his stereotyping tendencies he comes of as callous and un imaginative. He shows
his lack of
Theme Of Racism In To Kill A Mockingbird
Please don t send me back, please sir (Lee 33) pleaded Scout to her father Atticus. She had just
come home from her first day at school with a teacher named Miss Caroline who was also new to
the school, as well as to all of Maycomb, a little town in Alabama that Scout Finch lives in. Miss
Caroline has been taught a standardized way to teach, which has students writing in second grade,
not first, and when she discovers that Scout already knows how to read and write, she grows furious.
When Scout goes home and tells this to Atticus, Atticus has Scout attempt to empathise with Miss
Caroline, and, climb into [her] skin and walk around in it (Lee 33). Scout begins to understand that
Miss Caroline had a rough day too, and Scout and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She comforts Scout and gives her hope for her break from school, saying she can come to the kitchen
if she is ever lonely. After empathising with Jem, Scout relaxes for the beginning of summer, and
Jem and Scout are pleasant. Through empathy, Scout and Jem make up, for the time being.
As well, empathy can be used to explain acts of violence, as Atticus explains to Scout after a scene at
the jail. Tom Robinson, a black man convicted of rape and defended in court by Atticus, is in a jail
that, Atticus predicted, would be attacked by a mob with the intention to lynch Tom Robinson.
Atticus stays at the jail that night and narrowly avoids an incident with the mob. The next morning,
when Scout asks why Mr. Cunningham, a family friend that was recognized among the crowd,
would do such a thing, Atticus replies, A mob s always made up of people, no matter what. Mr.
Cunningham was part of a mob last night but he was still a man (Lee 179). Atticus is sharing his
empathy for Mr. Cunningham with his children in this instance. Atticus is explaining that in a mob,
you feel a part of a mob and do not think for your actions, only thinking for the mob. The
anyominity of a mob is what makes it so bad, but it is always made up of people one would know,
he says. Atticus explanation of Mr. Cunningham s motives, or the whole mob s motives for that
matter, gives a reasoning behind the mob s actions. Atticus teaches his kids, through his surprising
