Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandan Yojana


(PMVVY)
 Launch: 4th May, 2017
 Type : Central Sector Scheme.
 Eligibility: Only to Senior citizens.

 Objective: Offer an insurance policy-

to senior citizens
 Implementing agency: Life Insurance Corporation of India.
 Features:
 Guaranteed pension payouts for 10 years, with a return of principal at maturity.
 Assured pension ranging from Rs1000/- per month to Rs.12,000/-per month,based on
contribution.
 Limit on investment : Min limit : Rs 1.56 lakh; Max limit : Rs 15 lakh.
 Beneficiaries get back principal in event of investor’s death within 10 years.
 Loan facility available after completion of 3 policy years.

STAND UP INDIA SCHEME


 Launch : 5th April, 2016.
 Type : Central Sector Scheme.
 Purpose : Bank loans between Rs.10 lakh and
Rs. 1 Crore to at least one SC or ST borrower
and at least one woman borrower per bank
branch for setting up a greenfield enterprise.
 Eligibility: Greenfield enterprise in manufac-
turing, services, Agri-allied activities or the
trading sector.
 Implementing Agency: Small Industries De-
velopment Bank of India (SIDBI).
 Features :
 Loan extend enitity: All branches of Scheduled Commercial Banks.
 Loan secured under CGFSI (Credit Gurantee Fund for Stand Up India).
 Lowest applicable rate of bank for category not exceed Bank’s base rate (MCLR)
+3%+tenor premium.
 Loan Repayment in 7 years with a maximum moratorium period of 18 months.
 Stand-up Connect Centres : SIDBI and NABARD designed as stand up Connect Centres.

PRADHAN MANTRI MUDRA YOJANA (PMMY)

 Launch: 8th April, 2015


 Type: Central Sector Scheme
 MUDRA: Registered as Company under Companies Act 2013 and Non-Banking Finance Institute
with RBI.
 Intended Beneficiary: Any Indian Citizen who has a business plan for a non-farm sector income
generating activity and whose credit need is less than Rs 10 lakh.
 Objective: To create entrepreneurial culture by increasing access to Finance to the unbanked and
bring down the finance cost to small enterpriser mainly from informal sector.
 Features:
 MUDRA (Micro Units Development & Refinance Agency Ltd.) supports the finance In-
stitutions (include Commercial Banks / Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) / Small Finance
Banks / NonBanking Financial Companies (NBFCs)) involved in lending to micro / small
business entities.
 Mudra card issued for efficient working capital and keep the interest burden Minimum.
 Managed by the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Ltd. (NCGTC).

ATAL PENSION YOJANA (APY)


 Launch : 9th May, 2015 from Kolka-
ta,WB
 Objective : Provide Mininum guaranteed pension for the people in the unorganized sector.
 Implementing Agency : Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) under the
National Pension System (NPS).
 Eligibility : APY is open to all bank account holders in the age group of 18 to 40 years.

Note : From 1st October 2022, any citizen who is or has been an income-tax payer
(Income-tax Act,1961), shall NOT be eligible to open new APY account.

 Features :
 Guaranteed minimum monthly pension of Rs. 1000 or its multiple upto Rs. 5000 (based
on the contributions) at the age of 60 years.
 Subscriber could exit from the scheme subject to certain subject to certain condition.
 Death of the subscriber :
 Premature death (before 60 years of age) -> Spouse can continue contribution to
APY account.
 Death after attaining 60 years -> Pension to spouse -> If spouse also dies, accu-
mulated pension corpus would go to nominee.

 Training: 3 years.
 Stipend: ₹7,000 (1st year), ₹6,000 (2nd year), ₹5,000 (3rd year).
 Expected Income: ₹15,000/month for LIC agents.
 Investment: ₹840 crore in the first year.
 Purpose: Expand insurance reach, provide social security, and empower women.

MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE

AYUSHMAN BHARAT
 Launch: 15th Sept 2014.
 Objective: To achieve the vision of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
 Background: Recommended by the National Health Policy 2017.
 Components : Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs); Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY).

 1,50,000 HWCs will be created to deliver Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC),
that is universal and free to users.

PM-JAY (Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana Expansion)


 New Coverage: On Dhanvantari Jayanti, the Prime Minister announced the inclusion of all senior
citizens aged 70 and above under the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY scheme, offering health cover-
age regardless of income.
 Objective: The scheme provides health insurance of up to ₹5 lakh per family annually for sec-
ondary and tertiary care.
 Coverage: Currently covers 55 crore individuals across 12.34 crore families in India.
 Key Features:
o Universal Access: Aims to ensure healthcare access for marginalized communities.
o Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs): Target of 1.5 lakh centres to offer primary
healthcare.
o Financial Protection: Reduces out-of-pocket healthcare costs for low-income families.

Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan Yojana (SUMAN Yojana)

 Type : Centrally Sponsored Scheme.
 Aim : To reach out to all Pregnant
Women who are in the 2nd & 3rd Tri-
mesters of pregnancy
 Feature : Receive zero expense access
up to six months after delivery.

NIKSHAY POSHAN YOJANA (NPY)

 Launch: 1st April, 2018


 Type : Centrally Sponsored Scheme.
 Aim: Provides incentives for nutritional
support to TB patients.
 Features :
 Financial incentive of Rs.500/- per month for anti-TB treatment is given through DBT in
Aadharenabled bank account of beneficiary.
 Ni-kshay Mitras, which includes NGOs, individuals, corporations, cooperatives, and political
parties, can volunteer to support TB patient.

Recent Changes in Ni-Kshay Poshan Yojana (NPY)

1. Increased Support: Monthly nutritional support for TB patients raised from ₹500 to ₹1,000 during
treatment.
2. Additional Funding: ₹1,040 crore allocated to support increased nutritional needs.
3. Energy-Dense Nutritional Supplementation (EDNS): Provided for underweight patients (BMI
<18.5), covering 12 lakh patients for the first two months.
4. Expansion to Household Contacts: Ni-Kshay Mitra initiative now includes food baskets for TB pa-
tients' household contacts to improve immunity and reduce expenses.

PM AASHA Scheme - Convergence of PSS & PSF


 Objective: Provide fair prices to farmers and control price volatility of essential commodities for
consumers.
 Ministry: Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.
 Budget: ₹35,000 crore allocated until 2025-26.
 Launch Year: 2018, as an umbrella scheme.
Key Features:
1. Price Support Scheme (PSS): Procures pulses, oilseeds, and copra at MSP when market prices fall
below MSP.
o 25% of national production to be procured from 2024-25.
o State government cooperation required for procurement and logistics.
2. Price Stabilization Fund (PSF): Provides working capital for procurement, storage, and distribution
of agri-horticultural commodities.
o Ensures price stabilization, such as through procuring pulses when prices exceed MSP.
3. Price Deficit Payment Scheme (PDPS): Direct payments to farmers to cover the difference between
MSP and market prices for oilseeds.
o Coverage increased from 25% to 40% of state oilseed production.
o Implementation period extended from 3 to 4 months.
AgriSURE Scheme (Agri Fund for Start-ups & Rural Enterprises)
 Objective: Attract investment in agri and rural start-ups by contributing to Alternative In-
vestment Funds (AIFs).
 Key Features:
o Provide liquidity to agri-tech start-ups struggling with financing.
o Encourage young entrepreneurs to innovate in agriculture.
o Strengthen the farm value chain through forward and backward linkages.
o Help Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) access modern agri-tech.
o Create employment opportunities for rural and urban youth in agribusiness.
 Background: Announced in Budget 2022-23.
 Funding: ₹750 crore corpus, managed by NABARD and the Government of India, registered as a
Category-II AIF with SEBI.

PRADHAN MANTRI FASAL BIMA YOJANA (PMFBY)

 Launch: 13th May 2016


 Type: Centrally Sponsored Scheme.
 Objective : crop insurance from pre-sowing to post-
harvest period.
 Beneficiaries : All farmers including sharecroppers and
tenant farmers.
 Features: 1. Insurance subsumed ->
 Replaces National Agricultural Insurance Scheme (NAIS)
and Modified NAIS.
 The Restructured Weather-Based Crop Insurance Scheme (RWBCIS) is still continued.
 Premium is paid as % of sum assured or Actuarial Premium Rate (APR), set by insurance compa-
nies :
 Commercial /Horticulture : 5 %
 Kharif crop : 2%
 Rabi crop: 1.5%
PRADHAN MANTRI KISAN SAMMAN NIDHI (PM-KISAN)
 Luanch: 29th Feb 2019
 Type : Central Sector Scheme.
 Tenure: ₹6,000 per year in three
equal instalments of ₹ 2,000 each,
every 4 months.
 Objective : provide income support
to all land holding eligible farmer
families.

 Features:
 Benefit to only those farmers’ families whose names are entered into the land records.
 Self-registration Mechanism,through mobile app, PM KISAN portal and walk-ins via Com-
mon Service Centers (CSC).
 All beneficiaries will be given the Kisan Credit Cards (KCC).
