Based on the MANEB guideline document “2025 examination Maneb guide” , here are subject-wise

topic expectations:

Mathematics (Paper I & II)

* *Paper I* (100 marks, 2 hrs): Factorization, rational numbers, formula manipulation, matrices,
sequences (AP/GP), polynomials (remainder theorem), geometry (circle, similarity), trigonometry,
mensuration, coordinate geometry, inequalities, statistics, travel graphs.

* *Paper II* (100 marks, 2 hrs 44 min): Rationalizing denominators, algebraic fractions, simultaneous
equations, vectors, sets, trigonometry, mensuration, variation, probability, grouped stats, polynomials,
linear programming, function graphs (quadratic/cubic), circle tangents, exponential/logarithmic.

Physics

* *Both papers*: Theory and practical covering thermodynamics, gas laws, electricity & magnetism, light
& lenses, nuclear physics, oscillations and waves, motion (Newton’s laws), digital electronics, vector vs
scalar, work & energy, Hooke's law, circular motion.

Chemistry

* Topics: experimental techniques, stoichiometry, reaction heats, acids/bases, organic chemistry


(alkanols, aldehydes, acids, esters), inorganic groups (N/S/P), isomerism, polymerization, electrolysis,
reaction rates, water and waste chemistry.

Biology

* Key areas: plant tropisms, ecosystems, digestive & respiratory & circulatory & excretory systems,
reproduction, plant structure/photosynthesis, coordination and locomotion, biotechnology, genetics &
evolution, immunity/infections.
Agriculture

* Subjects include soil properties, land degradation, mechanization, cooperatives, mushrooms, pasture
and cropping systems, animal feed and livestock (cattle, sheep, goats, poultry), crop/livestock
improvement, vegetative propagation, agri-economics/e-farm business, gender in agriculture, price
elasticity.

Geography

* *Paper I (Physical)* and *Paper II (Human)*: Map-work, plate tectonics, mountain building, volcanism,
earthquakes, rocks/minerals, ocean currents, pressure belts, winds, local winds/clouds/fronts, cyclones,
rainfall, agriculture globally and in Malawi, wetlands, wildlife, urbanization, transport, tourism,
population, energy & industry.

English

* *Paper I*: Grammar & Composition — prepositions, verb tenses, conditionals, phrasal verbs, parts of
speech, conjunctions.

* *Paper II*: Summary & Comprehension — note-making, prose comprehension.

* *Paper III*: Poem, Literature — Contextual short answer questions; essays on *The Pearl* (novel) and
*Macbeth* (play).

Additional Mathematics

* *Paper I*: Functions, graphs, inequalities, binomial expansion, trigonometry, limits, differentiation,
integration.

* *Paper II*: Cartesian geometry, power series, vectors, matrices, mechanics, statistics, probability.
So What You Should Do

* *Stick to syllabus topics* listed above.

* *Practice past papers* Some WhatsApp groups can give sample questions, but always verify them and
treat them as practice, not guaranteed content.
