This study seeks to investigate the non verbal communication strategies used by doctors in doctor
patient interactions during the initial consultation in a clinical setting. Non verbal communication can
be conceptualised as any form of communication that does not use the written or spoken word.

consultation, not because activities outside the consultation are of lesser importance but because

Jarena Lee was born a free African American woman on February 11, 1783 in Cape May, New
Jersey. From birth to seven years old, little was known about her childhood, but what was known
about her childhood was that when Jarena was seven years old, she went off to work as a servant
maid because her family was very poor like most African Americanfamilies living during this time
period. She was separated from her parents at a very young age, and the house or business she
