Dear sir,

RE: REQUEST TO LOWER RENT PAYMENT FOR ROOM & PARLOUR

SELF CONTAINED/BLOCK B-4 SITUATE AT NO. 10, INABERE STREET,
OFF OMIDIDUN STREET, LAGOS ISLAND, LAGOS STATE.
I write to beg on the increment of the house rent.

I propose to pay 650,000 (Six Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) for room and parlor and I
believe based on the faith I have in your coordination for your consideration.

We have been battling with increments since we moved in from 75,000 (Seventy-Five
Thousand Naira) increment to the newly proposed increment of 425,000 (Four Hundred and
Twenty-Five Thousand naira) which is about 74% increment of the current rent amount.

I don’t want to be pompous about law, but that increment is way above the tenancy
agreement fee cap by law which I cannot even accept and base on the current situation of the
country and also regarding the situation of the house, and because we have been having issue
with water supply which in turn costs us a lot of expenses month in month out.

In addition, we were promised no increments would be imposed not until after 5 years at the
beginning of the agreement and even if an increment should arise, there should be a cause for
it.

Finally, I want you to use your judicious office to consider my plea of the deduction of the
rent considerably, we are just managing on a low income.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs. Rachael Opeyemi
