Trace Evidence In Criminal Investigation
The chain of custody is perhaps the most important aspect of evidence procedure. If trace evidence
is improperly handled at any point during its journey from collection, to trial, the entire case against
the defendant could be in jeopardy. This paper will examine trace evidence, its requirements, and the
necessary steps required to prove its validity during trial proceedings.
Physical and trace evidence collected at a crime scene can be an invaluable tool for investigating
officers, as well as prosecuting attorneys. However, it is imperative that evidence be handled
appropriately, and following the appropriate chain of custody from collection to trial. Physical
evidence can play both a direct or circumstantial role in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In Davis v. Mississippi, the Supreme Court stated that fingerprints where inherently more reliable
than eyewitness identification (Gardner, 2016). Although finger prints are considered extremely
reliable, steps must be taken to ensure that the fingerprint was actually left at the crime scene
during the time period that the crime was committed. In order to prove a fingerprint s validity, the
prosecution must rely on both expert testimony as well as detailed, accurate, and proper chain of
custody documentation. In order to prove the correct timing of the latent print, evidence can be
provided through a few methods. One method is the use of an eyewitness who can testify to the
defendant s presence during the time of the crime (Gardner, 2016). Additionally, testimony proving
that the surface was just cleaned or washed immediately prior to the crime is admissible (Gardner,
2016). Finally, fairly fresh prints at a crime scene where the defendant did not have access, or
prints left in blood that could only be placed after the smear was made can be considered admissible

Fighting In Hockey
Professional hockey players eat, sleep, and breathe the game. This passion breeds a rare type of
diehard fan to follow the sport. The game of hockey is over 100 years old and fighting is one
element that has kept players engaged and fans hooked throughout the years. The first indoor
hockey game was played in 1875 and the NHL was formed 42 years later in 1917. In 1922,
fighting was added to the rule book as a regulated aspect of the game. Looking at the history of
hockey shines a light on the players and fans passion for the game. Hockey fights should stay in
the game for the protection and safety of skilled players, rivalries between teams, and finally
because it s a unique part of the sport. Hockey fighting should stay in the game for... Show more

In the event that a player makes a dirty hit on a skilled player, the enforcer s role is to send a
message to the other team. For fear that a skilled player will be hurt and unable to play, an
enforcer will take matters into his own hands. As a result, skilled players feel protected and can
do their job of scoring goals more effectively. All things considered, fighters are there for
protection, not violence. Fighting as part of the game reduces injuries drastically. At the present
time, fighting in the NHL is being heavily debated and there are two very different sides to the
argument. In the meantime, with the stricter regulations against fighting, NHL injuries are at an
all time high. My coach, Kelly Chase a retired NHL enforcer says that with concussions being
such a focus in sports, only 2% of the ones in the NHL are caused by fights. The other 98% are
caused by dirty hits. In the background of the controversy, the game has evolved to where fighting
is not an enforcer s only role on the team. Beyond a reputation for being tough, an enforcer good

Ignorance
Ignorance in societies can lead to violence. Ignorance is the lack of knowledge, and many people
can be ignorant on purpose or they can be ignorant without even knowing it. When people are
ignorant they can only see a topic from one point of view. If there are different countries that are
both close minded and ignorant then they will have different opinions on the subject and will fight
in order to prove their point.
Nineteen years ago the Taliban got hold of Kabul. Since then the landmines have continued to
explode, people have continued to be tortured and women have been pushed to the side.
The city of Kabul has become the place it is because it is being ruled by ignorant people. Kabul used
to be a beautiful place full of nature and amazing
The Scientific Theory Of Science
Science is based on fact through the processes of falsification. It is a utility function in society and is
widely consistent with the evidence of history and practice of rational thinking. Progress in science
since the fourteenth century has been revolutionary and valuable in the methods used for rationality
and reasoning. Scientific methods that are used to establish rationality is due to the simple, general
and rigorous explanations of the phenomena, (Diamond, 1998). This essay will explore the reasons
to the extent of the role of science in reason, displaying perspectives from respected philosophers,
politicians and scientists throughout time. Politician rather than scientist, Francis Bacon (1561
1627) was the man who made a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His methods were also able to revolutionise reasoning as he was against the use of knowledge that
had been inherited from the past. Following Bacon s methods, scientists and philosophers have
adopted his methods and utilised the knowledge to better the results in order to establish the truth.
Bacon s work should be seen as a part of a widespread cultural revolution accelerated by the rise of
the printing press in the 15 th century (source). Bacon believed that scientific knowledge increases
and grows. Bacon s methods of testing hypotheses was highly valuable in the movement of science
as a rational enterprise. Furthermore, scientist Rene Descartes (1596 1650) changed the world from
within the realm of practicality to reasoning through the applications of thinking rather than acting
upon or doing, I think therefore, I am. This gave reasoning in society a far more prominent role.
Descartes is believed to have been the first philosopher to use reason in the development of the
natural sciences. He used maths and physics as his basis for reasoning in the sciences. Primarily,
Descartes had three visions in which he was certain a divine spirit had led him to reveal a new
philosophy. Descartes believed that all truths were linking together and in order to find the
fundamental truth, continuing with logic and reasoning would broaden the use of the sciences
Symbolism In Wicked By Gregory Maguire
One never learns how the witch became wicked, nor whether that was the right choice for her, is
it ever the right choice? Does the devil ever struggle to be good again, or if so is he not a devil?
Gregory Maguire, author of Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West tells the
story of the green girl named Elphaba who grew up to become one of the most iconic evil
characters in history. While telling her story, Maguire incorporates symbolism and similar senses of
style, genre, and theme to give his words deeper meaning and to capture the essence of his characters.
Born in Albany New York, on June 9, 1954, Gregory Maguire would soon become a very well
known and accomplished American novelist. Maguire was raised in a family of ... Show more

He is very evasive when it comes to certain issues and instead of directly talling you things, he
leaves you guessing what they mean. Maguire writes in an episodic style where he breaks his
novels up into small standalone sections that jump through time. In Wicked he jumps from
Elphabas childhood to her college years to her adulthood, which leaves large intervals of time that
never are told. This creates a sort of enigmatic or mysterious character for Elphaba, which makes it
more realistic since you can never know really know a person s full life story with all the
Beethoven Homophonic Style
The symphony has three different textures: monophonic, homophonic, and polyphonic. Similar to
the Tabuh Pisan piece, there is a monophonic texture in playing the melody. Listening to only the
single melody line enables the audience to engrave the melody in their heads without the adornment
of an accompaniment line. By using this texture, Beethoven introduces the first melody line the rest
of the movement varied off on. Overall, texture changes, homophonic texture, polyphonic texture and
monophonic texture, are used to accentuate the technique of theme variation throughout the
movement. The polyphonic texture is shown through the fugal melody in measures 117 174. The
same melody is played in different parts at different times, which causes the melody to overlap,
creating two melodies that are played at the same time. Below is an example of the fugal subject, or
melody, played by different parts.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Tabuh Pisan, there are homophonic textures as well as monophonic textures because the solo
instrument is not accompanied as it plays in the introduction, however the Gamelan melody later
dominates it by playing the melody and is accompanied by the Kendang rhythm. In the Beethoven

when the melody is introduced by one instrument. It is also homophonic because there are single

the texture is polyphonic because there are two melodies present at one time. Thus both pieces show

The Overlooked Richness of the Recitatives of Bach s Cantata 78
In Expressivity in the Accompanied Recitatives of Bach s Cantatas, George J. Buelow writes that
although many of the distinguishing properties of Bach s music have been studied over the years,
few scholars have examined Bach s recitatives or have given them proper credit. He notes that
these recitatives generally either are ignored by musical scholarship or are briefly discussed with
general errors or confusion. 1 For example, he cites Jack Westrup as stating that Bach s recitatives
are basically an adaptation of the idioms of Italian opera (19), and he mentions others who term them
improvisatory or unrelated to the text. Buelow asserts that informed ... Show more content on

Some of these instrumentally guided recitatives even contain arioso segments, melodious passages
that may seem out of place in a standard recitative. Two such recitatives that Buelow does not
mention are the intriguing movements 3 and 5 of Cantata No. 78. In the first of these two
examples, the arioso section lasts for the last four and a half bars of the piece and helps show the
shift from the sinner s inner monologue to an outward presentation of his grief to Christ. In the
second, the arioso spans the last dozen andante bars of the piece and illustrates a similar shift from
the text s discussion of Christ s strengthening of mankind through his suffering to an individual s
placement of his own suffering heart before Christ.
To most Baroque theorists, recitatives were simply a form of sung speech, an oration in tones (25).
Buelow points out that while Bach is a skilled rhetorician, he is also unusually sensitive to words in
his recitative style, finding such a variety of musical and rhetorical means to express them, an
atypical accomplishment for the Baroque period (26). Buelow notes several approaches that Bach
takes to express his text as he looks in depth at a specific cantata. Cantata No. 78 reveals similar
trends, demonstrating Bach s expressivity through vocal and instrumental
Hamlet Is A Brilliant Strategist

Hamlet Is a Brilliant Strategist William Shakespeare s twenty fourth play, The Tragedy of Hamlet,
Prince of Denmark, follows the story of Hamlet, who is experiencing an emotional crisis.
Shakespeare s mastery development of his characters actions leads to different interpretations of their
behaviors. In the play, Hamlet learns the truth of his father s death and as a result, begins acting
rather bizarre due to his father s death. He begins to talk nonsense, is rude, and wears dark, ragged
clothes. These changes in his behavior contribute to how readers may think that Hamlet is either
crazy or brilliant. While some critics argue that Hamlet is truly insane, he is undoubtedly a genius ...

Yet, Guildenstern and Rosencrantz do not seem convinced and still think of him as deranged, so
ultimately, the king and queen will as well. The fact that Hamlet clearly states that he is, in fact,
sane contributes to the idea that he is not psychotic or senseless; and, revealing his plan of acting
mad shows that he has a clear mind, knows what he is doing, and is brilliant in that way. In acting
insane, the other characters are unaware of his true motives, which makes it easier for him to carry
out the murder of Claudius.
Another reason hamlet is not crazy is how he proceeds to execute or not execute his plans with
patience and caution. Hamlet s master plan is to avenge his father who was killed by King
Claudius, his uncle. The only thing Hamlet thinks about is exacting revenge upon Claudius, and
cannot wait for the moment he can kill him. However, with his plan comes patience and caution.
Hamlet decides that he must kill Claudius in the right way at the right time. In scene v of Act I,
the ghost of King Hamlet reveals to his son that he was killed by Claudius with No reck ning
made, but sent to [his] account/With all [his] imperfections on [the king s] head (85 86). Thus, King
Hamlet could not go to heaven and is trapped in purgatory during the day and is doomed to walk the
earth at night. Hamlet kept this in mind while planning to murder Claudius so that Claudius will
suffer the same fate as his father abruptly killed with no
Life Styles Inventory ( Lsi )
Life Skills Inventory Analysis Who are we? How do we think and behave? What is the impact of
our thinking and behaving styles professionally and personally? How do we change these styles?
These are the questions we ask as leaders. The Life Styles Inventory™ (LSI) is a tool designed to
answer these questions. It is a tool used to identify a person s strengths and improvement areas
focusing on beliefs, values, behaviors and assumptions about yourself (Human Synergistics
International, 2010). After completing the assessment, the results provide insight into an individual s
various styles, the impact to others, suggestions to change and there benefits. This narrative is an

Many areas have even gone beyond contamination with saliva and feces, to dangerous chemical
contamination, often resulting in bodies of water such as rivers having dead fish and other
organisms floating around in large amounts. Chemical pollution often involves large amounts of
metal solvents, agricultural pesticides, simple carbon dioxide (which can also cause grief and large
amounts of death in marine organism populations) and petroleum, all because of industrial reasons.
Sometimes, humongous amounts of inanimate man made objects also become deadly pollutants,
such as plastic bags, sometimes taking up as much as 700,000 square kilometers, the size of Texas.
These locations can trap even more marine organisms, causing shifts in balance of the marine
ecosystems and food webs, often causing chain reactions which shatter the underwater world. These
ecosystems need to be preserved with perseverance for the next generation.
Cleaner water from affordable filtration would lead to less disease, making better use of water

death, taking more lives than war and terrorism combined. There are about four million diarrheal
diseases every year, resulting one or even two million deaths, 90% of which is children under the
age of five, a tragic amount. Smaller amounts of dirty water would easily lead less
Eurocycles Business Model
Mike,
I have experienced challenges in filling the Tampa/St Pete open point. I have canvassed the area
multiple times and have not found the right fit for Zero. The big box stores have no interest in
adding additional brands and the small independent stores in the area do not provide the right
environment for Zero or our customers. The one independent pre owned store that would be a
