The Importance Of Being Earnest Or Wilde Essay
This semester in Drama 1101: Intro to Theate we are required to read and attend plays that
confront social and aesthetic issues. I have a love for plays and broadway productions. So, when
enroll in the course I knew that this will be something I will enjoy. I learned so much and enjoy
the overall class experiences. The first play that we were required to attend is The Importance of
Being Earnest, by Oscar Wilde. The importance of being Earnest one of the most remarkable
works of satire and criticism not only in the Victorian age, but also nowadays, since it discloses
many aristocratic behaviors that seems to be very weird and funny at the same time. the several
interpretations of this play may be considered as an enough reason for explaining the wit and
cleverness of Oscar Wilde. The overall play fit well within the space of the theatrebecause the layout
corresponds with the flow of the play. The play itself didn t need a large or over the top spacing
because of its few actors. Throughout the play there were at least two to three actors sharing the
stage. The play was done on a prosceniumtheatre and it is stage outlined by what is called the
proscenium arch. This arch is architectural in nature and serves as a picture frame surrounding the
view of the action on stage. The layout of the stages gives the actors the ability to use the apron
more often especially when there s a moment between actors or an actorby themselves. For example,
there were moment between Jack and Gwendolen that they were in conversation in the apron area
also Cecily and Algernon. The actors use that part of the stage because it gives the audience a
better view and it flowed with the play itself. The architecture of the theatre adds to the
performance by extended the stage to bring about more in the actors to fully enhance the character.
There were choices made by the actors and the director that help make the production a success.
Each actor took the acting methods that best fit the character they were playing and done things that
enhance the feedback of the play. The actors seem very believable in the roles. They fully embody
the character in many ways from the way they walk, and even the facial
Business Studies 2013 Cbse Project Material
Business Studies 2013 cbse project Changes witnessed over the last few years on mode of
packaging and its economic impact. 1. The changes in transportation of fruits and vegetables such
as cardboard crates being used in place of wooden crates, etc. Reasons for above changes.
Disadvantages of wooden crates Deterioration * After wooden pallets are used several times, the
wood begins to wear. It splinters, cracks and even breaks under the pressure of continued use. The
deterioration is natural and occurs eventually, even if the wood is treated to repel moisture and to
strengthen it. This disadvantage leads to replacement much sooner than with plastic pallets.
Infestation * Wooden pallets are more susceptible to infestation by... Show more content on

Advantages of tetra pack Tetra Pak Packaging has a very important function, which is to protect
food and drinks safely and efficiently from where they made to where they will be consumed. It has
following benefits: Protection Packages protect the contents from light, microorganisms and air, and
the environment from the contents of the package. Preservation Good packages can help preserve
food and prolong its shelf life during storage, transport retailing and consumption. Communication
Packages carry important product information about ingredients, quantities, nutritional value, use,
sell by dates and much more. Convenience Packages provide convenience for the consumer,
enabling the food to be handled, served and then stored what is left for future use without getting
it all over our hands. 3. Plastic furniture [doors and stools] gaining preference over wooden
furniture. Disadvantages of wooden furniture * Sun, moisture and sudden temperature changes
can impair the form and colour. However appropriately dried and processed wood is more robust
than plastic or aluminum. * The surface can be damaged by sharp objects; stains can remain in
case water, alcohol or other colored liquids are spilt and not cleaned properly. Please, consult our
wood care guide for keeping the perfect appearance of your wooden furniture. * Wood gets
Stephen Colbert s Late Show
Stephen Colbert is a comedian and the host of the Late Show on CBS. He was born in
Washington, DC, and grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, the youngest of 11 children. He was
deaf in his right ear, which happened when he said: I had this weird tumor, and they scooped it
out with a melon baller. Surgery meant to fix the eardrum but caused damage to his inner ear.
Sadly, his dream of becoming a marine biologist came to a halt as soon as he found out he was
unable to scuba dive, due to his pierced eardrum. In 1974, when he was 10, his father and two of
his brothers were killed in a plane crash. Having a hard time grieving the loss of his brothers and
father, in his teens Stephen discovered he could make others laugh. Trying to break out of

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Description of the Project
The Asterix field lies in 1,360 meters of water in the Norwegian North Sea on Block 6705/10 in PL
327B. The field is operated by Statoil, holding a 70% interest; Petoro holds 25%; and Norske Shell
the remaining 10% interest.
Drilled by the Transocean Leader, the 6705/10 1 well reached a vertical depth of 3,775 meters below
sea. The reservoir is located in Upper Cretaceous reservoir rocks, and found gas in rocks with good
reservoir properties.
Asterix will be considered for development together with Luva and the other nearby discoveries. In
addition, the configuration of Asterix, Haklang, Snefrid and other small discovery raises the
possibility of developing an infrastructure in the fields of Norway.
Statoil has found gas in Asterix, a small undeveloped gas discovery for which is developing custom
technology.
In addition, Asterix contain 16 billion cubic metres of recoverable gas
Statement of Purpose for the Doctor of Physical Therapy
As I have almost completed my sophomore year of college, I know what my career goals are at
this point. I am currently on the physical therapy track planning to declare the major of exercise
science: applied kinesiology. I became interested in PT after hearing many appealing things about it
such as: the rapid growth and demand of physical therapists, the purpose it serves, and financial
stability that comes along with the rewarding work. I am eager to learn about the functions, progress,
and healing of the human body in the most natural manner, and through exercise sciencemy
knowledge in this study will certainly grow. The majorof exercise science: applied kinesiology
prepares students for a variety of fields in the health/human sciences. Throughout the specified and
course intensive curriculum, students learn advanced problem solving skills, interpretation of
critical information, and understanding/ manipulating kinetics of the human body; each skill will
grow stronger throughout the curriculum and will be essential in treating patients. PT is one of
many career choices for exercise science majors. In order to practice independently in any setting,
the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree must be obtained. In order to obtain the degree, one must be
accepted into the DPT program, requiring the prior completion of specific coursework as well as 10
1000 hours of volunteer work specific to the field. Computer scienceis a major in this generation that
should be considered by

Maya Angelou Caged Bird Comparison Essay
The Effects of Confinement on the Human Mind: Trapped Characters in Maya Angelou s Caged
Bird , and Tennessee Williams s The Glass Menagerie Confinement, and how it affects people, has
always been a subject of debate for people around the world. The impacts on mental and
psychological health and reactions to it have been arguments used against things such as solitary
confinement in prison, in which there are multiple cases of such impacts occurring. Both poet Maya
Angelou and playwright Tennessee Williams have approached the subject of confinement before,
although in much broader terms than just physical confinement, and they have taken quite different
approaches on the subject. Angelou s poem Caged Bird blankets the entire issue and tells... Show

Tom is a character who is trying to escape from his current reality of being stuck in his current
position, physically and socially, much like how the caged bird of Angelou s poem is restrained.
Because his father left, Tom is the main breadwinner of the family, with his sister doing nothing,
and his mother only doing some small work selling magazine subscriptions over the phone.
Throughout the play, we see him struggle with this reality and sing his song through his
arguments with his mother, and his time spent late at night at the movies, which, as George W.
Crandell comments, provides both the impetus and a convenient excuse for escape from
unpleasant company and inhospitable surroundings (1). The cinema is Tom s only way of escape
from his life without truly hurting those around him, even though it is only a temporary escape.
His anger is quite evident throughout the play, mainly though his arguments with his mother.
During one of those arguments in Scene 3 he truly expresses his feelings and his honest distaste
of his home and work. He says that he d rather have someone beat his brains out with a crowbar
than go to work every morning. He describes just how much he thinks that he gives up to provide
for his family, saying I go! For sixty five dollars a month I give up all that I dream of doing and
being ever! (Scene 3). He goes on to say that if he thought of himself all the time, as he believes
his mother believes he does, he would have already left, just as his father did, illustrating just how
far his hatred for his home really goes. His exclamation, How lucky dead people are! (Scene 3)
really tells us just how much he hates having to go to his work. All of this points to just how truly
bitter and resentful Tom really is, and just how much he really wants to escape his current cage.
This is a near mirrored mindset of the caged
Theme Of Language In Dogtooth
The parents in Dogtooth have all the authority and power in the house which they hide behind the
protective and caring façade. To maintain that façade they cunningly control the children. As the
director said, It s a commentary on mass illusion, how world leaders and the media only channel
certain information to the public, isolating us from the truth. It s also a commentary on what
happens to human beings functioning in a climate of oppression (Katsareas). Under this
oppression, there are bursts of violence against things, each other, or even on themselves, but there
are also scenes where the kids want to take the power position and be themselves the oppressors
and the controllers. For instance, when the son was the one who was in charge of the girl s
exercises in the pool or when Christina was exploiting the oldest daughter to satisfy... Show more

Through his way of teaching he alienates them from reality. It is a twisted way of teaching because
the kids are treated as objects, with their intellect and their individuality being degraded and crushed,
resulting to the highly ironic and metaphoric scene where they are being trained to act and bark like
dogs to protect their house. The most important function of language in Dogtooth is seen through the
way the parents use it to control the children s perception and thoughts. They teach them new
vocabulary but the meaning of those words is not the standardized form that everybody knows, it is
something completely different than what that word suggests. However, the choice of the meaning
is not random; the parents have a strategy which is that the outside (the ocean) is always converted
into the inside (a leather armchair). The inside can be frightening (pet cats become dangerous
predators), but its meaning is established in advance, fixed by the father and mother s linguistic
micro despotism... (Fisher,
