Current Weather and Forecasts

I've gathered current temperature and RealFeel data for Mangaluru and Mysuru, along with current
observations for Bengaluru. I also have detailed short-term (24-48 hours) and extended (5-7 days)
forecasts for Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka, and South Interior Karnataka, specifying
rain intensity, wind speeds, and affected districts. The southwest monsoon is currently normal over
North Interior Karnataka and weak over Coastal and South Interior Karnataka.

Monsoon Status and Warnings

A significant insight is that the southwest monsoon has covered the entire country nine days ahead
of its normal schedule. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts 'above normal' rainfall
for July across the country, with most regions, including Karnataka, expected to receive normal to
above-normal rainfall. Recent warnings include an orange alert for heavy rainfall in several districts
like Belgaum, Dharwad, Kodagu, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, and Bengaluru, with school closures
in some areas. Heavy to very heavy rain is specifically predicted for coastal and north interior
Karnataka, with strong winds.

Geographical Rainfall Variations

I've confirmed that Karnataka's weather varies significantly across its three meteorological zones:
Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka, and South Interior Karnataka. Coastal Karnataka
receives substantially higher annual rainfall compared to the more arid North Interior Karnataka. I
have district-wise average annual rainfall data, highlighting areas like Udupi and Dakshina Kannada
receiving the heaviest rainfall, and Bagalkot and Chitradurga receiving the least.
