The line manager treating such plans as merely an irrelevant forecast prepared by another. For the
whole project process, the ability to influence cost diminishes rapidly over time, the greatest
influence being at the design phase. However the greater the time between plan and
implementation, the greater is the variance of actual schedule and budget against plan. Detailed
planning of activities planned to be executed far into the future say more than three months is
futile. This is because: there are uncertainties which cannot be quantified; stochastic modelling
does not identify the cause of variation; forecasting models extrapolate from past trends which
may not be valid for the future. Theoretically, the binomial theorem [7,8] supports this claim. The
probability of an event occurring in repeated trials where the event may be, for instance, a task
running 10% over its planned duration is given by the binomial distribution. This shows that the
percentage error of the estimate of the mean performance on the task as a ratio of the percentage
error for the mean durations of all tasks in the work breakdown structure (WBS) is inversely
proportional to the square root of the number of tasks, for a discrete sequence of tasks. Thus for a

Nature of Money laundering ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Money laundering is the processing of these criminal proceeds to disguise their illegal origin. This
process is of critical importance, as it enables the criminal to enjoy these profits without jeopardizing
their source.
Illegal arms sales, smuggling, and the activities of organized crime, including for example drug
trafficking and prostitution rings, can generate huge sums. Embezzlement, insider trading, bribery
and computer fraud schemes can also produce large profits and create the incentive to legitimize the
ill gotten gains through money laundering.
When a criminal activity generates substantial profits, the individual or group involved must find a
way to control the funds without attracting attention to the underlying activity or the persons
involved. Criminals do this by disguising the sources, changing the form, or moving the funds to a
place where they are less likely to attract attention.
As money laundering is a necessary consequence of almost all profit generating crime, it can occur
practically anywhere in the world. Generally, money launderers tend to seek out areas in which
there is a low risk of detection due to weak or ineffective anti money laundering programmes.
Because the objective of money laundering is to get the illegal funds back to the individual who
generated them, launderers usually prefer to move funds through areas with stable financial systems.

Public Transportation In Garden City
This survey was conducted in Garden City which is part of Wayne County in the state of Michigan.
Garden City borders the cities of Westland, Dearborn Heights, Inkster and Wayne with an area of
5.87 square miles (15.20 km2) and an estimated population of 27,052. According to the United States
Census Bureau, 92.5 % of the populationof Garden Cityis white, African Americans make 3.4 %,
following the Hispanic population of 3.3 % . American Indians and Alaska Natives alone make up
only 0.4 % of the population.

Smart ride bus system covers public transportation in Garden City from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Transportation services include: Smart Fixed rout services such as Ford road, Ford road express and

For instance, there were many dentist offices, three urgent care centers, a cardiovascular care clinic,
phlebotomy care training center, eye care centers, obstetrics and gynecology office, and a mental
health clinic. Besides health service centers, there were also alternative medicine centers such as
acupuncture, massage clinic, and chiropractic specialist as well. There are also some social service
centers such as the secretary of the state, social security administration office, and WIC program and
clinic information center. Part of this city are several child care facilities and senior centers.

While driving by Garden City I did not see people walking outside or in the parks due to the
weather conditions on the day that the windshield survey was conducted. Also, Garden City is a
safe place to live. There is a police department, fire department and a couple of urgent care centers
in the city. There are fire hydrant street signs in every residential or commercial subdivision. I did
not notice any stray dogs or any other animal on the streets or in the neighborhood
Green Growth Is Not Just A Moral Choice
Introduction Green growth can be seen as a way to pursue economic growth and development,
while avoiding environmental degradation, biodiversity loss and unsustainable use of natural
resources. Making business sustainable is not just a moral choice. It s a practical one. Being eco
friendly and socially thoughtful is an overhaul of what is known about business: it requires
business owners to reconsider everything from suppliers to which products to stock on the shelves.
Companies in every industry are re evaluating their operations in order to become more ecologically
conscious while remaining competitive. The results suggest that green foreign direct investment in
HMIL will increase over the future period 2020, and that, as a result today s vision will be
tomorrow s reality for Hyundai Motor India Ltd. and it is upto the government to encourage its
growth. Need and Significance of the study Becoming sustainable, eco friendly, and socially
responsible is that the kind of thing that an eco friendly business must resort to. With the above
backdrop, the present study seeks to throw light on the opportunities, challenges and suggestions to
overcome the challenges of eco friendly business. This paper identifies the potential eco friendly
business opportunities. Objectives of the study 1.To know about the potential eco friendly business
opportunities. 2.To explore the benefits of sustainable innovation in eco friendly business. 3.To
identify the challenges of eco friendly
The Economic Impact Of Amoebic Dysentery
There are no definitive metrics on the economic impact of amoebic dysentery. The disease mostly
afflicts children in farming communities whose source of drinking water are streams, rivers and
ponds. Knowledge of the economic cost of diarrheal diseases in the developing countries, on the
other hand, offers rough estimates of the cost of amoebic dysentery. It worth mentioning that about
40% of the diarrheal diseases in the developing countries is attributable to amoebic dysentery
according to a paper presented at the 28th African HealthSciences Congress, Mauritius, July, 2008. A

The latter, facilitated by specific lectin, adhere to and colonize the intestinal mucosa. The usual
incubation period for Amoebiasis is about 10 days, but it can range from a few days to years.
Patients present with cramping abdominal pain, bloody diarrhea, weight loss and fever. Fulminant
colitis with systemic manifestations is rare. It presents with a sudden onset of severe bloody
diarrhea, abdominal pain, and peritonitis with fever. young age, pregnancy, corticosteroid and
impaired immunity are disposing factors. Life threatening intestinal perforation and toxic Megacolon
may ensue, necessitating surgical intervention. Mortality from fulminant colitis may reach 50 %.
Untreated intestinal Amoebiasis may proceed to chronic colitis presenting with recurring bloody
diarrhea and abdominal discomfort. From the intestinal mucosa E. Histolytica trophozoites follow
two paths. Some of them develop into cysts and get excreted in the feces to be recycled while
others invade the intestinal mucosa and enter the bloodstream. Blood circulation enables the
parasite to disseminate, invade and destroy the liver, lung, and other organs. Breakdown of tissues
is a result of both cytolysis and apoptosis. The former is carried out by Amoebapores, a group of
peptides secreted by the organism that are capable of creating holes in the cell walls. The parasite
induces apoptosis through both a1 receptor pathway and the
African Speaks Analysis
Using the assigned readings and class discussion to guide your analysis, in what ways is the film s
title, African Speaks, is a misnomer?

Throughout the film Africa Speaks, not a single African is able to voice their opinions or concerns
as the white male narrator, Paul Hoefler, leaves African natives voiceless and speaks on their behalf.
Hoefler continuously belittles and criticizes the Massai s culture and traditions, while not realizing
the harmful imprint he is leaving behind as he slowly molds the negative stereotypes that shape the
images of Africans, such as depicting Africans as uncivilized. Cynthia Chris, author of Watching
Wildlife, analyzes how Hoefler s denigrates Africans for their different culture as he targets them
with ridicule by stating racist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even if an African had been opinionated in the film, the African would have only elucidated the
culture of the Massai tribe (Africa Speaks 1930). One would not solely study New York and call
the associated film, America Speaks. Chris comments how Hoefler s mass generalization and
cultural bias stops him from properly shedding light authentically and honestly on the African life
he witnessed (Chris 2006, 21, 24). This is seen in the film as he makes erroneous comments, yet
never hesitates to correct himself, such as stating that giraffes are naturally dumb animals that can t
make sounds. Specifically, the same images of Africans doing odd rituals, such as drum beating, is
repeatedly seen degrading their tradition as Hoefler takes the opportunity to describe the event as a
peculiar and almost an inhuman tradition (Africa Speaks 1930). Hoefler s bias misguides the
audience to believe that Massai individuals are vacuous, as he never gives them the opportunity to
voice their knowledge and
Steven Spielberg s Jaws And Jurassic Park
Steven Spielberg is a director who has made many movies including Jaws (1975) and Jurassic Park
(1993). Both Jaws and Jurassic Park show animals behaving in the way that nature intended them to
behave. However, in Jaws the animal finds himself trapped in an unnatural environment, an inlet
where humans swim. In Jurassic Park, animals that became extinct millions of years ago, dinosaurs,
also find themselves in unnatural environment occupied by humans. I want to compare these two
movies because I enjoy action movies and thrillers. Also they were both made before I was born and
I have only seen them now for the first time. Both movies hold the audience attention from the very
beginning and you feel yourself going through the emotions that the actors display. Steven Spielberg
uses nature in both films as his theme to develop his story. In Jawsthere is a great white shark that
terrorizes a small island town and in Jurassic Park there are manufactured dinosaurs that are
developed out of altered DNA that terrorize an island that was to be a theme park.
In Jaws there is a large white shark who seems to be unstoppable. The movie begins with an
unsuspecting girl swimming when the shark comes up on her and kills her. From the moment the
movie begins the viewer knows who the villain is. The cast consists of Roy Schneider as Chief
Brody who struggles throughout the movie to do the right thing to save lives while the politicians
constantly interfere with his concern to prevent
Increased Access To Genetic Testing
Will increased access to genetic information lead society to more discrimination? In this
biotechnology era, one of the most significant scientific accomplishments has been the completion
of the Human Genome Project, which provided us with the necessary tools to access, understand
and use our genetic information. All the advances made up to date have opened the doors to new
approaches in practicing medicine and health care since genetic testing allows determining the
presence of certain markers (genes) that enhance the probability for a patient of developing a
genetic condition (Béatrice Godard). Likewise, genetic testing helps in some cases to the early
diagnosis and proper treatment of the disease. However, a growing fear and debate about... Show

In one side if the results are negative will provide great relief and peace of mind, while a positive
result will facilitate the prognosis, early treatment and a positive effect on quality of life and life
expectancy. Two important examples of the benefit of having more access to genetic information are
the newborn screening and cancer screening. The first one allows the detection and early
management of serious conditions such as phenylketonuria in newborns. The second one is of vital
importance in the early detection of cancer as long as the evaluation and follow up in those patients
who have higher predisposition to suffer this disease. The regular screening of prostate, breast, and
ovarian cancer, to mention some, have helped to identify individuals at risk based on their family
history and to improve the management of the condition increasing their regular check ups
Essay on FLQ Crisis
On October 5, 1970, British trade commissioner James Cross was kidnapped in his Westmount
home by members of the terrorist group Front de liberation du Quebec. The FLQ Manifesto
called for non democratic separation to be brought about by acts of terror. From 1963 to 1967,
the FLQ planted 35 bombs; from 1968 to 1970 they planted over 50 bombs. By the fall of 1970
the terrorist acts of the FLQ cells had claimed 6 lives. The kidnappers demands included the
release of a number of convicted or detained FLQ members and the broadcasting of the FLQ
Manifesto. The Manifesto was read on Radio Canada. Then, on October 10th, the Quebec minister
of justice guaranteed safe passage to anywhere in the world for the kidnappers in exchange for the

Under the sweeping authority of the act, 465 Canadians were so rounded up. A day later, on
Saturday October 17th, the body of Pierre Laporte was found stuffed in the trunk of a green
Chevrolet. In Ottawa, government sources said the FLQ assassinated Laporte because War Measures
was enacted. The tension that night was palpable. John Turner, the minister of justice, looked
distraught. In his office, Trudeau ministers Gerard Pelletier and Jean Marchand were weeping openly
at the death of an old friend and colleague. Early in December 1970, police discovered the location
of the kidnappers holding James Cross. He was released after his FLQ captors were given safe
passage to Cuba. Four weeks later Paul Rose and the kidnappers of Pierre Laporte were found in
the corner of a country basement. They were tried and convicted for kidnapping and murder. The
October Crisis was the first time in Canadian history the state itself, both in Ottawa and in Quebec
City, was held to ransom by extremists and terrorists. It was also the first time, in peace time, that
Ottawa invoked War Measures. It was a drastic step to take and one laced with very dangerous side
effects. In the guilt by association atmosphere engendered by War Measures hysteria, the terrorism
and extremism of the separatist FLQ tarnished all separatist movements in Quebec. Also, Rene
My First Day When I Arrived During The United States
I can still clearly remember the second day when I arrived in the United States. I started to attend a
public high school. During my pre calculus class, suddenly, the speaker broadcasted something like
Code blue, this is not a warning. Teachers need to lock the door, and students please move away
from the windows . I was clueless since I barely spoke any English back then. Although, soon I
realized how dangerous the situation was. Someone brought a gunto school, and the police were
chasing after him in the hallway.

This brought us to our interview topic, which is regarding gun controls. I was lucky to have
someone, who s brother used to be in the military, Devin Friske as my interviewee. We started the
conversation with why America ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We then shift the focus to concealed carrying. Devin believes that open carrying is actually less
dangerous than concealed carrying. Since people know the fact that person has a gun. He also
mentioned his brother often concealed carry a handgun in his holster, although he would never want
to do that. Since his brother was in the military, he was properly trained with guns, and have a
valid license to do so. I followed with a question that, why people need to go through a test on
how to properly drive a car, but do not have to go through any training or checking to operate a gun.
He nodded and told me each time when he and his brother go to a gun range, his brother will treat
the weapon with respect, handle it carefully. Although, there are plenty of people do not have a
brother who was in the military. They learned from their father or their friends when they were six or
seven years old during a hunting trip. We reached an agreement with that, many other developed
countries have strict regulations on guns, and America should do the same.

Devin brought up another point that even the guns are heavily regulated, it would be still hard to
stop people from borrowing guns from each other. If two people have the same gun, it could be
easily mixed and creates complications. I asked him why people do not like having a fingerprint
sensor on the gun. He thinks the gun manufacturers do not like that since it adds cost to productions.

Tet Offensive And Its Impact On The Vietnam War
Tet Offensive The Tet Offensive received its name from the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, the
American public and further holiday called Tet (Tet Offensive n.p.).The series of surprise attacks
that the North Vietnam and Viet Cong forces launched to attack many of South Vietnam cities and
U.S. Embassy in Saigon is known today as the Tet Offensive. The Tet Offensive played a role in the
Vietnam War and was considered to many Americans, soldiers, and even the President as a turning
point in the war. The United States and South Vietnamforces were allies and managed to hold off the
surprise communist attacks. The Tet Offensive led into The Battle of Hue, a lengthy battle that
shocked and dismayed the American public and further eroded support for the war effort (Tet
Offensive n.p.). The Tet Offensive lead to many difficulties throughout the Vietnam War. It was a
victory to North Vietnam and Viet Cong forces, leaving damage to much of South Vietnam. January
30, 1968, 70,000 North Vietnamese and Viet Cong forces had launched the Tet Offensive, which
were fierce surprise attacks to Central South Vietnam. These attacks established many of the first
views that Americans had seen first hand that were put out for them to see. General Vo Nguyen Giap,
leader of the Communist People s Army of Vietnam (PAVN), planned the offensive in an attempt
both to foment rebellion among the South Vietnamese population and encourage the United States to
scale back its support of the
