Reddit Share this article on Pinterest Expert Author David Lewis Burns I cannot think of any
outdoor activity more enjoyable than observing and enjoying the majestic and industrious honey
bee. I further cannot believe that everyone isn t keeping bees. Those who have joined the
honorable ranks of being a beekeeper do so for many different reasons. Some keep bees so they
can harvest their own home grown honey. Others keep bees to pollinate their fruit trees, crops
and gardens. Many keep bees because they have heard of the decline in honey bee colonies and
want to do their part in keeping our honey bees alive and well. There are many other reasons, but
deep down all beekeepers enjoy keeping bees because it is simply enjoyable! A common thread
among first time beekeepers is that they now have time and a place to keep bees. Many say their
dad or grandpa kept a few hives and they were always intrigued with bees and would like to try it
for themselves. If you have ever considered keeping honey bees, good for you. It is so important
that we understand the essential and significant role honey bees play in our world.
Essay on Personal Statement
We are the media and the media is us. That statement is very broad and is so for a good reason.
Through out the world and the history of our society, media has transformed, melted, bent, molded
and made our society and culture what it is today. But at the same time, our culture and society has
done the exact same thing to media. It is hard to realize or imagine a time without televisions,
telephones, fax machines, printers, computers, cell phones, pagers and other electronic technologies
that have made our lives, hopefully, stress free. Those itemswere and are still being invented today
to make our lives easier and better, but are they really making life easier and better? Media plays a
big part in defining what society wants and gets.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of course, this is an exaggeration and other countries should know better than to think that
Americans live like the Simpsons characters, but that is what media does to people that do not know
the society being depicted.
In addition to creating negative images of the United States, our media tarnishes the character of
specific Americans as well. Lets take old Bill Clinton for a test drive here. When he was
suspected of having an affair with a White House intern, our media zeroed in on him to find out if
he did or did not have an affair with Monica Lewinsky. We had analysts examine whether he
should or should not tell us he did, what would happen if he did, what would happen to the
relationship between him and his wife. Our media told us how to think about situation and, what
should happen to him if he answered their questions a certain way. Our media never let us think
what we wanted to think. Instead they gave the false impression that we did have total control of
what way we thought, but in each station they took a viewpoint and bombarded us with it. The
effect was similar to brainwashing us. Some stations did explore alternative perspectives, but most
stations had only one view. Then when our media asked for the peoples opinion, amazingly the
publics opinions were the same as our media s opinions. In away, our media imbeds the seed of
what to think, and hope the public follows.
Well, I have demonstrated a couple ways that the media, specifically television, has
Personal Statement On Marketing And Sales Budget
When I started this simulation, my goal was to make as much of a profit as possible. I went into
the simulation with that mindset, but did not think about the strategy part of the goal. I believe this
is where I went wrong. My first round was not bad, and I still came out with a small profit, but by
my third round, it was nearly impossible to get out of the debt.
If I were to do it over again, I would have borrowed as much money and issued as much stock as
possible to carry me throughout my first few rounds. With this money, I would have invested in
more R D. I tried to get my high tech product off the ground, but the cost was too much to carry out
successfully. Therefore, I had to focus on my low tech product to keep me out of as much debt as
possible.
One of my biggest challenges was finding the right place to position my marketing and sales
budget. My second round came turned out to be very successful. I believe this is because I had
adjusted the price correctly and spent just the right amount in my sales and marketing. When I tried
to replicate my success in the next round, it did not return the same results. From that point on, I
struggled to find the best way to position my marketing and sales budget. I believe this also suffered
due to lack of money I did not borrow in the beginning of the simulation.
In the beginning, production was not easy for me to understand. One of my biggest obstacles was
trying to understand how to estimate the number of units I would be
Disgrace by J.M Coetzee
J. M. Coetzee, was born in Cape Town on the 9th of February 1940. Coetzee begun his tertiary
education at the University of Cape Town receiving his honours in English and mathematics. He
went further to receive his PhD in English, linguistics and Gemanic languages at the University of
Texas. In 2002, Coetzee emigrated from South Africato Adelaide, Australia. J. M. Coetzee is well
known for being an active member of fighting for, human rights, animal rights and gender equality.
J M Coetzee s novel, Disgrace is published in 1999, which offers as explained by Paul Bailey a
subtle, multilayered story, as much concerned with politics as it is with the itch of male flesh.
Coetzee with this novel took a different academic approach of analyzing South African Politics,
through using the book and the information within as a general metaphor pertaining to the paradigm
shift of South African politics through its transition from the dark days of Apartheid to a Democratic
South Africa. Coetzee s work Disgrace is undoubtedly an allegory of South African history, society
and politics.
David, the novels main character, is a symbol of the typical white patriarchal South African male,
whom after the fall of Apartheid is undergoing and suffering from the rapidly changing political
landscape of South Africa. David is used as a larger metaphor of all white South Africans. Over the
past several years building up from 1999, David, along with the majority of white South Africans has

Dramaturgy
Erving Goffman introduced the sociological theory of Dramaturgy in his book The Presentation of
Self in Everyday Life. According to Goffman, life is like a theatrical performance, and states how
we present ourselves in everyday life is similar to as stage. Similarly, Peter Manning applies
dramaturgical sociologyto understand how policeorganization functions. Manning describes policing
as a backstage drama containing secrecy, teamwork, lies and information control are essential for a
successful public performance. Police officers are supposed to control, prevent, deter, and punish
crime where they uphold power and authority. For example, when police departments keep statistics
of crime rates and crime statistics of crimes they prevented,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Goffman emphasises on the presentation of self, how self is a product of scene. Who you are is
who you successfully convince your audience to be. Erving s version of dramaturgy is more
concerned about one s day to day interactions. He believes there is a self: the version favorable to
others (frontstage). This self can be the person who is meeting their significant other s family for
the first time. Secondly, the impression management meaning what we want the world to see. This
can be a person who wants outside world to see them as the most nicest person but behind close
doors can be total opposite. Thirdly, the backstage self meaning the version of ourselves we present
to those who we are familiar with overtime. This can be the version of yourself in front of your
parents versus your boss. Erving Goffman is concerned more with individuals which applies
dramaturgy in a more micro level. When a person fails the representation of front stage, it only
affects the
Analysis Of Karel Capek s Rossum s Universal Robots
Fearless Robot Labor In Karel Capek s Rossum s Universal Robots, the factory which Helena
visits and lives at mass produces robots sold as workers around the world. Originally, old Rossum
began experimenting with the artificial creation of a human being in order to uproot and imitate
God. The young Rossum then simply wanted to extinguish the need for human workers by
creating robots that would completely take over all the work that is necessary to sustain the
human race. The robots that he then created do not feel emotions and only exist to work for the
humans. The role that labor plays in R.U.R helps distinguish between robots and humans because
when the robots work, they are working for no reason other than because they are ordered to do
so by humans. Degrading work is not only found in R.U.R, but also in the Narrative of the Life of
Frederick Douglass, and when analyzed, it is possible to determine when work is a meaningful
human pursuit and when it is merely dehumanizing slavery, based on the purpose behind it and
the humanity of the workers. Throughout Capek s play, work is viewed as degrading because it
has become something that is only done by robots. Humans shouldn t have to do any work in the
world Capek creates because the factory can mass produce human like robots that can do all the
work humans could do but like A gasoline engine [that] doesn t need tassels and ornaments (Capek
9). Busman explains how a Robot costs only three quarters of a cent an
Error Analysis Lab
Error Analysis
One scientific error was that the classroom lights were turned on while observing the spectral tubes
with the spectroscope. The interference of observing the spectral tube with the classroom lights on
in the opposite room may have disrupted the observed line spectra. For instance, some of the colored
lines observed through the spectroscope, while directed towards the spectral tubes, could have taken
into account of the classroom lights. As a result, the sequence of the colored lines observed from the
spectral tubes could have included the colors emitted from the classroom lights. Therefore, the
colored lines of the unknown element observed with the spectroscope may have not been cadmium
due to the effect of the classroom lights ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, the purpose is to understand how to determine an unknown element based on spectral
patterns and to observe emission from spectral tube. In this experiment, several chemical concepts
are observed, such as the Bohr Theory of the atom that when atom has enough energy, electrons can
jump to a higher energy level. Eventually the electron in the higher energy level would fall back is
a lower energy level is available since it s more stable. As a result, a photon of electromagnetic
radiation is emitted when the electrons go from various energy levels. In order to determine the
energy of each photon the equation E=hv is used. When the photon s wavelength is between 400 nm
and 700 nm, the electromagnetic radiation is visible light. Since each element has its own unique
electron configuration when an excited atom experiences changes in its electrons between energy
levels, each element has its own distinct line spectrum. The colors of the lines indicate the color of
the visible light when the energy difference between two levels is emitted as a photon of
electromagnetic radiation. When an atom is excited, it produces the specific colored lines in its
spectrum due to the electron jumping or falling between different energy levels. Therefore, our eyes

Summary Of Goldilocks And The Three Bears
Summary: The story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears begins in a cottage deep in the woods.
This house is occupied by a family of bears: mama bear, papa bear and there only child baby bear.
Their home is very neat and tidy. In the home, each bear has its own size chair, porridge bowl and
bed which are all sized appropriately to the sizing of the bears. Not far away from where the bears
house, lived a mischievous beautiful little girl with long soft blonde locks, who had an inquiring
mind. Her name was Goldilocks One day the three bears went to visit a new born baby, the same
time Goldilocks wandered into the woods. Through out her walk she came upon a house than
peeked inside. When realizing it was where baby bear lived, Goldilocks took it upon herself to go
into the house without the owner s permission. She looked around (after entering) the bears
home. Being goldilocks, she had a realization where she was not satisfied with superficial
answers. She tested everything out for herself before she made up her mind. She tested each of
the bears following items: porridge bowls, chairs, and beds. After testing mama and papa bears
porridge bowl she found baby bears to be just right. When sitting on the chair she broke baby
bears chair into pieces. All those activities made the impish little girl tried so she decided to go up
stairs to see which bed has the best texture for her to take a nap in. Passing through mama and papa
bears bed she ended up falling asleep in baby bears bed.
Asthma Is A Chronic Condition Causing Constriction Of The...
14.Asthma Asthma is a chronic condition causing constriction of the airways due to an
inflammatory response of the bronchial mucosa. Asthma is a familial condition that can be
triggered by exposure to allergens, smoke, indoor/outdoor pathogens, viral infections. Symptoms
include chest constriction, patients making wheezing noises or gasping for air during inhalations
and aspirations. Nurses must remove allergens and educated the patient on the severity of their
asthma. Nurses should be aware of a patient s asthma medication and that it is nearby in case of
an asthma attack. Nurses must assess for breath sounds and monitor oxygen saturation levels
while taking vital signs. 15.Down syndrome Down syndrome (Trisomy of Chromosome 21)
occurs when there is a defect during meiosis, typically after a mother s egg cells have remained in
suspension for a prolonged period of time (risk increases with age) or during translocation errors
during early embryonic development. Individuals with Down Syndrome present physical findings
of a low nasal bridge, hypotonia, lowered ears, and short stature. Patients with Down syndrome may
present signs of Alzheimer s disease around 40 years of age. Nurses will assess patient s motor
skills, cognitive abilities, and their ability to communicate. Nurses will also want to perform a
physical assessment to evaluate any abnormalities with hearing, vision, bones, or muscle strength.
Nurses will encourage socialization and will educate families on the
Analysis Of A Perfect Day For Bananafish
Michael Connelly, a published author once said that, You can t patch a wounded soul with a
band aid . By saying that, Connelly is explaining that with mental illnesses you can t just fix the
symptoms, you have to fix the problem it will only get worse. A Perfect Day for Bananafish by
J.D. Salinger tells about a man named Seymour who suffers from PTSD who comes home from
war and goes on a honeymoon with his wife to Florida, where he ultimately kills himself, reasons
for this include, that he wants to relieve himself of the pain, he needs help that he is not getting,
and he is isolated from his wife and her world. One of the reasons Seymour kills himself is because
he wants to end his suffering. In the short story, when discussing bananafish, Seymour states, they
swim into a hole where there s a lot of bananas. They re very ordinary looking fish when they
swim in. But once they get in, they behave like pigs. Why, I ve known some bananafish to swim
into a banana hole and eat as many as seventy eight bananas. ... Naturally, after that they re so fat
they can t get out of the whole again ... [then] they die (Salinger 14). The bananafish keep eating
and eating until they are so fat they die. Seymour is like this in the way that he keeps digging
himself deeper and deeper into the hole of reclusiveness and depression until he just exploded and
died. Another reason for Seymour s suicideis that he not getting the help that he needs to function in
society. When this story takes

The Patient s Rights and Confidentiality in the Nursing...
This reflection indentifies what I have learnt about confidentiality and privacy, patient s right to
know about their health condition health and empathic response in Nursing Profession.
Nursing as a caring profession needs communicating receptively, empathy, trust and respect to
establish and maintain a strong therapeutic relationship with the patient and the family.
I will make reference to a significant experience I had as a student nurse during my clinical practice
in the obstetric and gynaecology unit of the hospital I trained in my country.
Confidentiality will be maintained at all times. During the period of my placement, I was assigned
Mrs M who was diagnosed with Gestational Trophoblastic Disease (GTD). During my break period,

I tried to console her and reassured her that the outcome of her illness will turn out good with the
treatment she was on. As a student, I did not know that giving a false reassurance to the client will
close off communication thereby affecting the nurse/client relationship which was what later
happened between me and the patient.
From this, I have realised that the patient have the right to know every details about their illness and
it is the nurse responsibility to ensure the patient is well informed about their disease condition and
treatment plan. Honesty builds trust, which is essential to the therapeutic relationship between the
nurse and the clients. (CNO 2002)
Two days later Mrs M was my patient assignment for the shift, in the afternoon I noticed that she
was bleeding profusely through the vagina, I reassured her, raised the foot of the bed, informed the
charge nurse and her doctor was notified about her present condition. Blood transfusion was ordered
and started by the blood transfusion team, I did her vital signs and she requested that I pray for her
which I did.
Everyone was standing at her bedside including the charge nurse, the doctor, blood transfusion team
and her son. I was watching Mrs M as her condition worsened and she kept looking at me, my hand
was still holding hers and she kept asking me to help her.
Honestly I could not help her because there was nothing I could
Oedipus Vs Hamlet Essay
When dealing with universal themes in plays like Oedipus or Hamlet, a set time period is not
necessarily required. A production of Hamlet could take place in the year 2016 and make sense if
adapted correctly. What is important when adapting a play is not presenting it exactly as the
playwright wrote it hundreds of years ago, in the case of Shakespeare s Hamlet, but keeping the
themes that make the playwhat it is. To completely change the story of Hamlet and differ too
greatly from the original story would defeat the purpose of the production. The director has to
adhere to the main themes of whichever play they choose because that play they chose obviously
carries the message they want to send to an audience. A director s job is to bring their ideas about
a play to life and present that to an audience, therefore, demonstrating their ideas for that audience.
The ideas spread and are then absorbed by an audience member, who leaves the play filled with the
new knowledge or new ideas.
Older plays, like Oedipus or Hamlet, are the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When adapting a play into a different historical era or setting it in modern times, maintaining the
essential themes that make the play what it is cannot be manipulated. However, some main ideas
and themes in a play can be enhanced or made clearer to the audience by setting the play in a
different time period. It all depends on whether the creative team behind a production can
communicate their meaning and the change to the audience. If the audience understands the change,
the interpretation and adaptation is successful. Implementing a new idea or a different outlook into
an older play might enhance the play by bringing forth political points that correlate with today s
society and its issues, prompting the audience to take note and reflect on our problems and attempt
to find a
Theocracy Consequences
The cause, purpose, and consequence in social groups are always connected. The cause of the
Puritans coming together as a group was to protect each other from the Natives and to keep the
community together. Their purpose was to have a better life and purify each other. The consequence
was that because everyone was so close together, the ones that were excluded were pointed at and
accused of witchcraft. They were executed due to that conclusion. The causes, purposes, and
consequences are connected between social groups.
The Puritans formed a government called a theocracy. A theocracy is a type of government in which
the head of the church is the head of everything. God was in charge in their government. When, the
Puritans arrived in New England ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The consequence of the theocracy is pretty obvious, innocent people got killed. Abigail wanted to
get revenge on Elizabeth, but after her first lie she had to keep lying so she wouldn t be accused of
anything. Therefore, Abigail mentioned tons of names for committing witchcraft. All of the people
she said were the people outside of their social group. Due to that fact, they all were pointed at and
taken to be executed. Danforth and Hathorne believed her also because none of the victims were
really part of the Puritan group. John Proctor never really went to church and neither did Elizabeth.
Tituba was a slave and she didn t go to church. Sarah Good and Sarah Osborne were also accused
of witchcraft and they were the same. Due to the Theocracy, the church had all the power and
because of that the Puritans had the power to hang all these innocent people. That social group
was so big they had the most amount of power. Also, because of Abigail being a child and not
telling lies, innocent people got executed. The consequence was because of their decision as a
government and a group. It is based on how excluded people become the enemy and the powerless
group is the one that gets the consequence, but doesn t deserve it.
The cause, purpose, and consequence is all attached together somehow. The cause of the Theocracy
in The Crucible is the protection from the Native Americans. The purpose is to better their life and
purify their souls. The consequence is the fact that they killed innocent people. The Crucible is a
very interesting story, it is very connectable, and the theocracy shows modern countries the pros and
cons of that type of
