Idea Description (flexible field)

This project aims to raise awareness and build the capacity of communities, especially young
generations, in environmental protection. Many of them are unaware that their behaviors,
such as wasting energy and littering, have harmful effects on the environment.
Unfortunately, environmental education in schools and universities has not been effective,
lacking a systematic curriculum. Environmental degradation continues due to deforestation,
air pollution, and industrial waste, accelerating climate change and causing disasters such as
floods, landslides, and ecosystem damage. So far, solutions have focused only on addressing
the impacts rather than changing human behavior as the root cause. This initiative seeks to
tackle this issue through a different approach—via educational institutions. The strategy
includes:1. Integrating a Green Curriculum, 2. Enhancing students' and lecturers'
understanding, 3. Encouraging action, 4. Sustaining public campaigns

What is the identified problem the project intends to address?

One of the main issues that the Green Education program aims to address is the lack of
structured environmental education in schools and universities. Currently, environmental
education is not a core part of the curriculum, resulting in the absence of systematic learning
about the impacts of environmental degradation and how to prevent it. Additionally, many
teachers and lecturers do not receive specialized training in environmental awareness,
making it difficult for them to instill sustainability values in their students. Another issue is
the low awareness and concern among young people regarding environmental issues. Many
of them do not realize that their small actions have a significant impact on nature, such as
wasting energy, using single-use plastics, and littering. The lack of education and real-life
examples around them has led many young people to develop an apathetic attitude toward
environmental issues. Moreover, the current approach to environmental protection mainly
focuses on restoring damaged ecosystems rather than preventing destruction in the first
place. For example, many programs focus on reforestation after deforestation has occurred,
but they do not actively work to prevent illegal logging from the beginning. This approach is
less effective because if people's mindset and habits do not change, environmental damage
will continue despite restoration efforts. Finally, the lack of concrete action in daily life
remains a major challenge. Environmental education programs often consist only of seminars
or discussions without direct implementation. Young people need opportunities to apply their
knowledge through tangible activities such as waste management, energy conservation, and
greening initiatives. Therefore, this program will provide an approach that is not only based
on theory but also on real actions that can drive long-term change.

What is the solution to the problem that your project proposes?

Green Education Solutions Green Education offers an educational approach that combines
theory and real action to raise environmental awareness among young people. This program
will be implemented through the following strategies:
1. Green Training for Educators
Many teachers and lecturers lack a deep understanding of environmental issues. This
program will provide training modules and a green curriculum that can be integrated
into learning, helping educators instill sustainability values in students.
2. Raising Student Awareness through Educational Campaigns
Seminars, workshops, and interactive discussions will be held to build an understanding
of environmental impacts and individual roles in protecting nature.
3. Sustainable Campaigns
Environmental awareness will be expanded through:
Social Media: Educational content, short videos, and infographics on
environmental issues.
Public Actions: Green marches, environmental murals, and advocacy campaigns
for eco-friendly policies.
Media Collaboration: Partnerships with local media to spread environmental
awareness.
4. Concrete Actions in Schools and Communities
Environmental education must be followed by direct implementation, such as:
Greening Programs: Tree planting in schools and public spaces.
Waste Management: Recycling systems and plastic waste reduction.
Energy Efficiency: Promoting electricity and water-saving practices in daily life.
5. Collaboration with Communities and Stakeholders
This program engages schools, communities, environmental organizations, and local
governments to strengthen environmental movements at the grassroots level.

With these strategies, Green Education not only provides knowledge but also shapes young
generations into active changemakers in creating a greener and more sustainable future.

What support has your project received so far, if any? What results have you
already obtained?

Green Education Project Progress The Green Education project is still in the planning and
funding application stage, with no active implementation yet. However, several initial steps
have been taken, including:
1. Concept and Strategy Development
Designing a green curriculum as the foundation for environmental education in
schools and universities.
Identifying target schools, universities, and communities to be involved.
2. Networking and Support
Engaging with schools, universities, and local communities that have
environmental concerns.
Researching literature on educational methods and program implementation.
3. Funding Applications
Currently in the process of applying for funding from your organization for
financial support.
Exploring grant opportunities and seeking additional funding sources if needed.

Since the project has not yet been fully implemented, there are no concrete results at this
stage. However, with thorough planning and continuous support, this initiative is expected to
be realized soon and create a significant impact on environmental awareness among young
people.
Tell us briefly about the population or community that your project would benefit

Green Education Program: Beneficiaries and Impact The Green Education program will
provide direct benefits to young people, educators, and local communities involved in
environmental education and conservation. The primary groups that will benefit from this
project include:
1. High School Students & University Students
As the future generation, they need to develop environmental awareness from an
early age. This program will help them understand the importance of protecting
nature and offer opportunities to participate in real actions.
2. Teachers, Lecturers, and Educators
As key figures in shaping students' mindsets, they will receive specialized training
to integrate environmental education into their curriculum and teaching methods.
3. Communities Directly Affected by Environmental Degradation
Many communities suffer from deforestation, water pollution, and climate change.
Through education and real action, this program will provide them with solutions
and support to protect their environment.

In its first year, the program aims to reach at least 1,000 direct beneficiaries, with the
potential for broader expansion in the following years. Through this approach, we hope to
cultivate a generation that not only cares about the environment but also takes active roles
in ensuring sustainability.

Justification for Direct Beneficiaries

1. High School Students (Ages 15-18)
This age group is at a crucial stage where habits and mindsets can still be
shaped.
Environmental education in schools will help them become more aware of the
impact of their actions on ecosystems.
2. University Students (Ages 18-25)
As the future generation of leaders, they play a significant role in shaping policies
and practices that promote sustainability.
Many are actively involved in campus communities, making them effective agents
of change in spreading environmental awareness.
3. Teachers and Lecturers
They are key actors in delivering education to students.
By equipping them with a green curriculum and training, they can consistently
integrate environmental topics into their teaching.
4. Local Communities and Environmental Activists
Communities with existing environmental concerns will be empowered through
participation in educational programs and real actions like reforestation and
public campaigns.
The general public in program areas will also benefit from the positive behavioral
changes among youth who become more environmentally conscious.

Rationale For Selecting These Beneficiaries

First, these age groups were chosen because they are still in the process of developing
awareness and habits, making it easier to instill sustainability values. Early education
ensures they grow into changemakers with long-term environmental impact.
Second, focusing on educational institutions (teachers and lecturers) ensures that the
program is structured, sustainable, and widely applicable.
Third, building connections with local communities allows for collaborative learning and
knowledge-sharing between students, schools, and universities.

Indirect Beneficiaries you aim to reach

1001-5000

Showing Page 6 out of 12

Justification for indirect beneficiaries (including the age group and profile of the
beneficiaries reached)

indirect beneficiaries ranges from 1,000 to 5,000 people, consisting of various community
groups that will experience the benefits of increased environmental awareness and action.
1. Families and Local Communities
Parents, siblings, and residents around schools and campuses will be positively
influenced by students' environmentally friendly behaviors.
They may be encouraged to participate in concrete actions such as reforestation
and waste management.
2. School and Campus Communities
Teachers, lecturers, and school staff will benefit from the green curriculum.
Other students who are not directly involved in the program will still experience
its impact through a more environmentally conscious learning environment.
3. General Public Through Public Campaigns
People engaged in public campaigns, either in physical spaces or through social
media, will gain awareness.
Disseminated information will inspire more people to care about environmental
issues.
4. Government and Policymakers
