WORKPLAN

I. TITLE: SIMULTANEOUS SCHOOL GSP CAMP PROGRAM

Theme: “Love for Environment”

PROPONENT: DINA M. CARIAN

TEACHER III

II. RATIONALE:

The Department of Education (DepEd) recognizes the significant

role of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) in producing remarkable
and empowered women leader through the realization of the ideals of
womanhood and preparation for their responsibilities in the home, the
nation and the world community. As a co-curricular program in the
schools, Girl scouting offers meaningful opportunities where girls can
discuss contemporary issues affecting them to initiate activities that
respond to the challenges .

The Girl Scouting program helps contribute to the eradication of

illiteracy, the achievement of quality education and social transformation.
As such, membership and participation in Girl Scouting and its programs,
projects and activities should be highly and favorably encouraged and
supported in the schools.

In view of this, the DepEd promotes and espouses the

revitalizaton of Girl Scouting in schools nationwide in various areas of
potential partnership, cooperation, and collaboration (DO 86s.2012).

At the beginning of the School Year (SY) , all public and private
elementary and secondary schools through their school principals/heads,
are advised to promote membership into the GSP among girl pupils and
girl students, parents and teachers.

The GSP Program provides space for a girl to maximize their fullest
potential to become a responsible and productive member of the society.

Camping provides adventures that prepare Girl scouts for life.

The beautiful part of camping is its being in the out of doors.

Campers must learn to live with and commune with nature n order to
enjoy its many gifts. Camping enables girls to realize the importance of
keeping her environment as set by God.

The Girl Scout Camping program enhances one’s consciousness

and awareness of keeping the ecological balance. More importantly,
campers are made to understand that they have the responsibility and the
privilege of taking very good care of God’s gifts and God’s creation, which
means not only the environment.

E. ACTVITIES TO BE UNDERTAKEN

IV. IMPACT OF THE WORKPLAN:

Attending GSP camp is an opportunity for campers to practice
conflict resolution, learn teamwork and improve their communication
skills, all in a supervised and collaborative environment. The Overnight
camp is beneficial to the pupils, teachers, and the community. It is an
avenue for girls to showcase their talents, develop camaraderie and
belongingness through active participation in the different activities. It
will help the young girls to cultivate stronger capacity in times of crisis
and also a sensible opportunity for them not always to be confined in
their comfort zones, a chance to explore other things to transcend
themselves. Both the teachers and girl scouts will face the 3 day camp
with bravery and enthusiasm.

Ma’am:

This is to seek approval for the conduct of the 1 st Simultaneous School

Based GSP camp on November 7-9, 2024 with a Theme: “Love for
Environment”. This activity will surely give the girls an opportunity to
practice making decisions and meeting challenges, independent of
parents and teachers.

It is also a way for young girls to practice teamwork, communication

and conflict resolution. It brings together girls from different
backgrounds; and coming to camp means joining a community where
everyone agrees to cooperate and respect each other. Both the
teachers and girl scouts will face the 3 day camp with bravery and
enthusiasm.

Thank you very much and we look forward to your usual support.

Very Truly Yours,
