I. TITLE
GULAYAN SA PAARALAN PROGRAM

II. RATIONALE:

The Gulayan sa Paaralan project aims to promote sustainable agriculture,


food security, and environmental awareness among learners. It serves as a
practical learning tool for values such as responsibility, teamwork, and self-
reliance. It also supports the school-based feeding program and encourages
healthy eating habits. With this, the Department of Education continuously
urges to strengthen the nationwide implementation of Gulayan sa Paaralan
Program (GPP) in public elementary and secondary schools. This is in
reference to Deped Memorandum No. 223 s. 2016, whereas the general
objective of the said program is to promote food security in schools and
communities, through self-help food production activities, appreciation of
agriculture as a life-support system, and instilling values among the learners.

In this regard, we planned to develop and maintain garden that learners,


teachers, and other stakeholders that will participate in reviving the different
garden in the school premises particularly the vegetable garden.

III. OBJECTIVES:

1. To establish and maintain a sustainable vegetable garden for the


selected portion of the school premises.
2. To showcase small-scale food production models
3. To inculcate the values of environmental care, and good health and
nutrition among learners and parents.
4. To promote stakeholders’ participation and support in school.

VIII. MONITORING AND EVALUATION:
