1.0 PURPOSE :
1.1 To establish and maintain documented procedure to ensure that the operation is carried
out to get the desired out put product.
2.0 SCOPE :
2.1 This work instruction is intended for the Fit up (built up) the job during operation.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1 Fit up (built up) section Engineer / fit up section foremen will be responsible for the
fabrication as well as the maintenance of machine and also be responsible for the
management of necessary tools and spares to ensure the proper operation.
4.0 PROCEDURE:
4.1 Receive the job first from auto / semi-auto SAW machine (after welding).
Inspect the lifting gears before lifting of jobs
Only trained operator to operate the crane
4.2 Than fit up the job according to Drawing and tagging the same area.
Employees engaged in Fitment activities shall use all required PPE’s. (Helmet,
safety shoes, safety goggles, hand gloves etc.)
4.3 Set the all parameters required for fitting on the machine as per process.
4.4 Now take first dimensions of Drill holes and slots and remaining part of the job
While shifting / handling of the Plates, Use Pallet wheel trolleys. Do not over
load the pallet wheel trolleys. Ensure proper stacking of plates on pallet trolley to
avoid fall of plates. Do not lift the plates manually more than 35 kg/person. Use
lifting equipment if the weight is more than the designated weight. Always push
the trolley. While shifting the plate’s operator shall ensure that pallet wheel
trolley / stacked material is not hitting the personnel working in the area
Trained gas cutting operator will conduct the gas cutting activity. Operator shall
ensure that cutting hoses /cutting torches shall be in good condition. Ensure
pressure dial gauges are in place & are in working condition
Carry out gas cutting as required. Operator shall ensure that direction of cutting
flame is in opposite direction (away from body) & other nearby operator is not
directly exposed to cutting flame. Also ensure cutting flange / cutting plate are
not falling on hose pipe. Ensure that gas hose are routed properly to avoid
contact with hot surface & tripping hazards. Hammering of partly cut piece shall
be strictly avoided
Operator shall check the Grinding m/c, grinding wheel, hose condition, hose
connections and guards before start of grinding activity. Select the grinder wheel
w.r.t RPM of the machine. Guard shall be in place during grinding activity.
Grinding m/c shall be placed in safe position with locks in place to avoid
accidental operation of grinder.
He shall use face protection at the time of grinding.
Operator shall ensure that electrical cables are in good condition. Ensure proper
connection is done.
4.5 instruments used in fitting section should be calibrated.
4.6 After ensuring the QC inspector the job jobs send to the full welding area.

4.7 Before sending the job in welding area check their job no, Part mark of each and every
job.
4.8 NCR has to be raised for defective jobs which goes out of tolerance & are to be tagged
with hold tags.

5.1 FORMAT NO :- Fitting Turn Over Report/Fitting Offer Log Book.
