IV. RATIONALE:
Mathematics holds a relevant and unique place in the school curriculum as it is important
for better living of the individuals but it is one of the toughest and most feared subjects for the
learners from elementary up to college. They consider Mathematics as difficult and very
complicated subject that is why most of the learners hate Math as a subject.
These things were truly observe to the learners now a day and this is one of the problems
that our Education and Mathematics teachers must face off. They should find ways to make Math
as a subject very enjoyable and interesting one. The teachers should change the belief of their
learners that Mathematics is a hard subject but instead it is a lovable and easy one.
Regarding this matter: Oogong Elementary Mathematics teachers conducted Project
SMILE (Speed in Multiplication Increases Learner’s Expertise in Mathematics) that aims to develop
the learners’ ability in Multiplication. They do believe that, if the learners have mastery on one the
basic skills in Mathematics which is Multiplication, it won’t be hard and it would be quite easy for
the learners to understand higher mathematics lesson.

OBJECTIVES
1. To keep on learners mind from Grades I to VI that Mathematics is enjoyable, interesting and
easy subject that should be loved as well.
2. To develop learners ability and mastery in Multiplication.
3. To lessen the number of learners who find difficulty in Mathematics.
4. To increase academic performance of the learnersin Mathematics
