Nam is not only very intelligent but also extremely caring. He often shares stories
about his work, how he helps patients recover, and how he deals with difficult
situations. I think his job in the medical field is very meaningful, and it inspires me
to do something useful for society too.
What makes him really interesting is that he’s very open about his feelings. He’s
not afraid to talk about stress or emotions, which helps others around him feel
more comfortable. He also loves gardening—his house is full of plants, and he
always gives me tips about how to take care of them.
Whenever I have problems with school or relationships, he’s the one I go to for
advice. I feel lucky to have someone like him in my life. He’s not only a great

One of the most memorable places I’ve visited is a peaceful village located in
the northern mountains of Vietnam. I went there with my family during a short
holiday last summer. The village was not very famous, so it wasn’t crowded
with tourists. We stayed in a small wooden house near a river, surrounded by
rice fields and green hills.
What made this place special to me was its natural beauty and quiet
atmosphere. I remember waking up early to see the sunrise, which painted the
sky in beautiful orange and pink colors. It was very different from the noisy city
where I live. I also took long walks along the village paths, passed by local
houses, and sometimes talked with friendly villagers. One evening, we were
stuck in a traffic jam on a narrow road near the village, but surprisingly, it gave
us more time to enjoy the view of the peaceful countryside.
This place gave me a strong feeling of relaxation and helped me forget my daily
stress. I would definitely love to visit it again and even recommend it to anyone
who wants to experience nature, quietness, and a slower pace of life.

One of the most meaningful items I’ve ever had is a digital camera that I received
from my uncle when I was a teenager. He gave it to me as a gift for my 15th
birthday, and at that time, I didn’t expect much from it. But later on, it became a
big part of my life.
It was a free gift, but to me, it felt like a prize, because I had worked hard on my
school project that year, and my uncle said it was a reward for my effort. I used it
to take many beautiful photos, especially during family trips and school events.
There is one particular picture of me at my high school graduation that I love the
most. I even printed it out and framed it.
Once, the camera got broken accidentally, but luckily I could get it repaired at a
local shop. After that, I became more careful with it. Later, I used the photos I took
to create a short movie about my teenage years, and it became something I would
love to watch again.
Taking pictures also became a way for me to relax and concentrate after studying.
I once took a photo of a rainbow after a rainy day, and it became the first photo I
ever felt proud of.

Over time, even though smartphones are more common now, I still use that camera
for special moments. To me, it's not just a device. It's an invention that changed
my life. It helped me understand the value of memories and made me realize that
photography was something I truly loved — even more than the toys I had in my
childhood.
If I ever had to buy a gift for a friend, I’d choose something meaningful like this
— not expensive, but full of memories and emotion.

One of the most unforgettable experiences I had was when I joined a charity
event at my university last year. It was a fundraising fair for children living in
remote areas. At first, I didn’t plan to join, but my close friend persuaded me to
take part. Looking back, I’m really glad I did.
We spent several days preparing for the event. I was in charge of a small game
booth, and I also helped with organizing and decorating. It was quite stressful at
first, especially because I had never joined any event like that before. I had to
manage my time well between schoolwork and volunteering, which was a bit
challenging. However, with support from my teammates and some good
planning, everything went smoothly in the end.
When the event was over, we raised a good amount of money and donated it to
a charity. I felt really proud of myself because I learned how to work in a team,
stay organized, and overcome difficulties. It also made me realize the
importance of giving back to the community.
Overall, this experience not only helped me grow as a person, but also gave me
the confidence to try new things in the future.

7. Describe a rule you dislike and would like to change in the future
8. Describe a story someone told you and you remember
Last year, when I was struggling with my final exam preparation, my older cousin
gave me a piece of advice that really changed how I approached studying. He had
already graduated and was working as a teacher, so I really trusted his opinion.
I used to study very late at night and review everything again and again without
any clear plan. It made me feel tired and confused. One day, when he saw how
stressed I was, he sat down with me and suggested that I should make a proper
timetable and focus on quality rather than quantity. He also told me to take short
breaks and not to stay up too late.
At first, I wasn’t sure if it would work, but I decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, I
felt more focused and less exhausted. I also got better results than I expected in my
exams.
This experience taught me how helpful advice can be, especially when it comes
from someone with more experience. I also learned how important it is to listen, be
open-minded, and adjust my habits. It was a small piece of advice, but it made a
big difference.

9. Describe a story or novel you have read that you found interesting
10. Describe an advertisement you have seen that introduced a well-known

A few months ago, I watched a YouTube video called “The Science of Sleep”,
which explained how getting enough sleep can improve our memory, mood, and
overall health. I came across it while searching for ways to study more
effectively, and it turned out to be very helpful.
The video started with a short quote from a famous song – “I can’t get no
sleep,” – which made it quite catchy and memorable. Then, the speaker used
real scientific studies and animations to show how our brain works during sleep.
I especially remember a line from the video saying, “Sleep is the best
meditation.” That really stuck with me because it was simple but powerful.
After watching it, I changed my routine. I used to sleep late, but now I try to
sleep at least 7 hours a night. It has helped me focus better in class, especially in
my English lessons. In fact, one of my recent English classes also talked about
sleep and stress, so the video actually helped me understand the lesson better.
I also shared this video with a friend, and we had an interesting discussion
about how health advice on the Internet can be useful if we choose the right
sources. I even saw an advertisement later promoting a sleep-tracking device
that reminded me of the video.
Overall, this video was not only educational but also entertaining. It combined
science, music, and storytelling in a very creative way.

GROUP 7: Science, Technology, Work & Innovation
1. Describe a science subject that you are interested in
2. Describe an invention that is useful in your daily life
3. Describe an online video in which you learned something new
4. Describe invention that has changed the world in a positive way
5. Describe something you do that can help you concentrate on work/study

7. Describe a website that sells second-hand items
8. Describe a website you often visit
9. Describe a job that is useful to the society
One invention that I find incredibly useful in my daily life is the noise-cancelling
headphone. I first discovered this product when I was watching a YouTube video
about how to improve concentration while studying. The speaker recommended
these headphones for students and office workers who struggle with noisy
environments.
I became interested in how they work and found out that the idea behind noise-
cancelling technology is actually based on physics—specifically sound wave
cancellation, which is a concept in science that I’ve always found fascinating. This
got me more curious about science and how it’s applied in real life.
I bought a pair online from a second-hand website that I often use. The site allows
people to sell their old items at lower prices, and I was happy to find a great deal
there.
Since then, I use the headphones every day when I study or work. They really help
me focus better, especially when I'm in a noisy coffee shop or a shared space. I
even recommended them to a person I met at a study group, and now we often
study together. He’s very dedicated, and I’d love to work on a science project with
him one day.
To me, this invention not only helps improve focus but also connects people who
care about productivity and learning. I think it’s a great example of how science
and technology can benefit society in small but meaningful ways.

5. Describe something you do to keep fit and healthy
6. Describe something that surprised you and made you happy
7. Describe something you did in your study/work that has made you feel
confident
One positive change I’ve made recently in my daily routine is waking up early
to do morning exercise and avoid using my phone right after waking up. I
used to check my phone as soon as I opened my eyes, which made me feel lazy
and distracted. But a few months ago, I read an article on health on a popular
Vietnamese website that talked about how technology and poor sleep habits
can affect mental and physical health.
After reading that, I decided to make a change. I set a goal to wake up at 6 a.m.
and spend at least 20 minutes doing light stretching or yoga. This new habit not
only made me feel more energetic but also helped me save a lot of time in the
morning. I became more productive and confident in my daily work.
At first, it was difficult to adjust, especially because I used to sleep late. But I
kept pushing myself, and after two weeks, it became a routine. The surprising
thing was that I didn’t expect such a small change to bring such a big
improvement to my mood and focus, which made me really happy.
Now I feel healthier, more focused, and even proud of myself for sticking to
this change. It’s something I will definitely continue doing.

2. Describe a water sport you would like to try in the future
3. Describe an important river/lake in your country
4. Describe a traditional product in your country
5. Describe a special cake you received from others
Last summer, I visited Trà Sư Forest in An Giang Province, which is a peaceful
place located in the countryside of southern Vietnam. It’s famous for its green
water channels covered with duckweed and its quiet natural beauty. I went there
with my cousins during our summer holiday.
One of the most interesting things about the trip was taking a boat ride through the
forest. It made me feel calm and close to nature. It was also the first time I realized
how much I wanted to try water sports like kayaking or paddleboarding in the
future. Being surrounded by water gave me that inspiration.
There’s also a famous traditional product in this region called “thốt nốt sugar”
made from palm trees. It’s natural and very popular among tourists. Before we left,
a local woman gave me a special cake made from this sugar. It was called “bánh
thốt nốt,” and it had a unique sweet and slightly smoky flavor. That made the trip
even more memorable.
I really enjoyed the experience because I could learn more about Vietnamese
culture, connect with nature, and taste delicious local food.
