Resource consumption refers to the use of natural resources like
water, energy, and materials. Conservation, on the other hand,
focuses on protecting and preserving this resource for future
generations. Balancing consumption and conservation is crucial for
sustainable development and preventing resource development
depletion.
Consumption
• Definition: The act of using resources for various purposes,
include production, consumption, and disposal.
• Factors influencing consumption: Population growth, economic
development, industrialization, and disposal.
• Unsustainable consumption: Leads to resource depletion, population,
and environmental degradation.
Conservation
• Definition: The practice of using resources wisely and efficiently to
ensure their abilities for future generations .
• Methods: Reducing consumption, and using renewal energy source
• Importance: Maintaining ecological balance, insurance sustainable
development, and protecting biodiversity.
Water Resource
Water resources are sources of water that are useful or potentially
useful.
Uses of water include agriculture, industrial, household,
recreational and environmental activities.
Only 3% of the Earth’s water is fresh water.
But people make vest wastage of water like in leak pipe, Long
showers, Swimming pools, Over water to yawns.
What are conservation encompasses the policies and activities to
manage fresh water as a sustainable research to protect the water
environment, and to meet current and future human demand.
Conservation in household applications applies in Raw water flushing
waste water rescue, rainwater harvesting, low floor taps, in commercial
applications waterless urinals, waterless car washes reduces water
usage.
For crop irrigation, optimal water efficiency means minimizing losses
due to evaporation, run off sub surface range while Maximizing
production. Overhead irrigation, Drip irrigation methods has potential
effect on increasing irrigation.
Water is our past. Water is our future.
Without it, we cannot survive, and
There are no alternatives.
Wind Resource
Wind energy is one of the alternative sources of energy that has been in
use since 2000 BC. Wind power posses huge potential and has been
growing fast in recent years. Why refers to the movement of air from high
pressure areas to low pressure areas.
Wine power consists of trending energy from wine to other form. There
are different way to harness it. For example, wind email produce,
mechanical energy, which helps to shall bought and generate electricity.
The advantage of wind energy, it is a pure form of renewable energy
without pollution and can regenerate anything, ate reduces fossil fuels
consumption, lessen area and water pollution, and initiate with less
cost.
As wind intensities very depending on location and settings, open rural type of
area creative the best condition for harnessing and storing wind for future use.
One way to conserve wind energy is by using generator system that powered
by wind turbines.
The use of solar panel system along side wind generators is another means of
conservation wind energy.
Forest Resource
A forest is a large area of land covered with trees or other woody
vegetation. Forest are one of the renewable natural resources on
this earth. About one-third of the world’s land surface is covered
with forest.
Forest are an important component of our environment and
economy. Besides economy, forest provides fuel, wood, coal,
furniture, checks air pollution, soil erosion, save the hill- slopes
from landslide.
Main depends heavily on large
number of plants from forest for
his daily needs. Many plants are
utilized in preparing medicines
and drugs. They even act as
grazing, mining, and recreation for
dams. Forest supply raw materials
as pulp, board timber etc.
Forest produce oxygen, reduces
global warming, soil conservation,
regulation of hydrogen cycle,
population moderators.
Forest protection is the preservation or improvement of a forest,
which is must in today’s life. Aggressive or Unsustainable farming
and logging. Expanding City development caused by population
explosion results and deforest though trees are considered as
perennial resource, when exploited on very large scale, they are
revival cannot be possible.
Therefore steps should be taken for conserving forest. Use of wood
or fuels should be discouraged. Forest pests can be controlled by
spraying pesticides. Overgrazing by cattle must be controlled. Strict
implementation of law of forest conservation act should be
provided.
Wildlife Resource
Wildlife traditionally refers to non-domesticated animal species, but has
come to include all plants, fungi and other organisms which grow or live
wild in an area without being introduced by humans.
Wildlife can be found in all ecosystems. Deserts, forests, rain forests,
plains, grasslands, and other areas including the most developing urban
sites, all have distinct form of wildlife.
The importance of wildlife is to maintain ecological ‘balance of nature’
and maintain food chain and natural cycles. It has economic value.
Maine white plants provide useful substances like timber, paper, gums
etc. Most importantly, wildlife is available to carry breeding programs in
agriculture, animal husbandry and fishery.
Wildlife conservation is the practice of protecting wild plant and
animal species and their habitats. Wildlife conservation has
become an increasingly important practice due to the negative
effects of human activity on wildlife.
Wildlife conservation includes
• Maintenance of ecological processes and life-support systems.
• Preservation of genetic diversity that is flora and fauna.
• Policy making and the integration of conservation in
development.
• Environmental planning and rational use allocation.
Mineral Resource
Mineral are naturally occurring. Table at room temperature, represented by a
chemical formula, usually a biogenic ( not resulting from the activity of living
organisms). Ordered atomic arrangement.
• Coal is a combustible black or brownish-black sedimentary rock usually
occurring in rock strata in layers or veins called coal beds or coal seams.
The main use of coal is in a producing of electricity. Coke, a product left
after heating coal is used to manufacture iron and steel.
• Petroleum is a natural occurring. Yellow to black liquid found in
geologically formations beneath the earth’s surface used as various type of
fuels.
IT act as fuel which is used to rum vehicles and a portion of it is used in
cosmetics for more beneficial to people.
• Nuclear power is the fourth largest source of electricity in India after
thermal, hydroelectric and renewable sources of electricity.
Nuclear power is the use of nuclear reactors to release nuclear energy and
there by generate electricity. The term includes nuclear fission.
Fossil Fuels
Reduce consumption of electricity. Use alternative source of
transportstation, prefer public transport. Use alternative energy
likes solar or wind energy. Raise awareness, spread the word about
reducing fossil fuels amount the protect Earth for the generation.
